FTR Fox Squirrel Hare Scramble 2024

New Hare Scramble property for the final round of the Florida Trail Riders Series. I get a pretty terrible start in this race and have to claw my way passed any rider I can. I start off in 13th and work my way up to 7th place. Enjoy the full race.

I also really like this race. I haven't race since brooksville due to injuries. Had a lot of fun! Dead last on the start but came through the pack to 6th on the first lap then tweaked my shoulder and just wanted to finish. I really like racing the 350 instead of my 300. It was good talking to you! Like you said.. I just want to ride my dirt bike. Nice riding! See you at Richloam.

@JRideRR I can only imagine as I know the camera just doesn't pick up the roots and stumps. I rode Sat practice with my son, and it was slick then. Those quads uncovered so many more. Sun single track looked great, sorry I missed it.

What made you race the ktm over the yz450fx? I’m very split over the two bikes and do some moto/enduro races. Any advice would be appreciated!

@codymilhoan6505 I have the KTM dialed in the way I want it. Very comfortable on that bike and I know how it’s going to react in most situations. I was trying for a top 5 and thought the KTM would give me the best shot at that.
I really think it comes down to how you like to ride and what conditions you’re riding in. If you like to ride in the low to mid range the 450 is great. Tons of grunt and hardly ever flames out. The 350 can lug too but is really happy in the mid to upper range. The 350 pulls so long where the 450 revs but doesn’t seem as free revving. Any other specific questions just let me know.

Hey man. Found your Richloam video you shared on the FTR fb group. Im trying to get more informed on being able to join an event whenever it all starts up again. I only have a 300+lbs wr250r. Can that be used for racing these events and if so, is it a dumb idea to enter a race with a dual sport bike? Im big and slow, like my bike so I probably wont do well but i think itd be a blast! Thanks in advance!

Hey! Yes, you can use the WR250 in a FTR event. The only real negative will be the weight of the bike over the 1.5-2 hours of racing. You can start in the beginner class to see if this is something you’d like to do. You will find a lot of cool people at these events who will gladly help you out if needed. The hare scrambles are a little more intense as it’s more like a true race. Enduros are more laid back since you start by yourself and while you are racing others it feels like you are racing the clock.

Did you have the A4 in a case?

I just have it in foam to block the wind noise. Screen is all good it was just the protector that broke.
