I know you mentioned a rangefinder is hard to beat, but if you could only use one of a rangefinder or GPS watch for the rest of your golf career, which would you choose?

I use a Garmin S60 and a bushnell V4 when I can see the flag. I use a shotscope watch instead of the Garmin if I want to get statistics about my game...love the spaghetti western intro😂👍🏽

Al you make entertaining videos. Enjoy them very much. I do use a bush Nell range finder. I have for many years. I like the one that I have .
Might just try the V5 after losing the V4 in the middle of the fairway last year, ouch!, at least got about 3 1/2 years out of the V4. Wouldn't trust the magnet either, but can live with that.
Sad to admit I was 2 minutes in before I remembered that I had already watched it !!!!!
But as my wife says the 2nd one is always the best! 😜🤠😎

Love your videos. You are As daft as we are. I have problems holding the Bushnell still for long enough to get any kind of focus. I think it's an age thingy.
The other thing about rangefinders is that they're the only things that work when there's no GPS signal at your course, like mine!

I haven't got the heart to repeat my usual crappy joke about rangefinders but my comment was about I use both GPS and rangefinder - GPS is good for front/middle/back, hazards and lay-ups (cos you can drag target point to where you want and get yardage) 👍

The jolt is great, but like any rangefinder make sure it is reading the flag and not the tree behind, another 20 metres away!

Al I must say im a tad upset. Not one bbq to pin distance or beck verandah of the house next door to the green distance? Never seen you on so many fairways as I did in this video lol! get back into the trees big fella!!!!
Do those flagpoles have any kind of reflector to make locking on easier?
Well let me explain, it’s a bit complicated.
There are 2 types of range finders, ones that use laser and the ones that use I think IR. Laser range finders are very expensive and need reflectors on top of flag poles which very few courses have. The range finder that is being promoted here is not a laser based range finder. Laser range finders are extremely accurate.
@@waqarghulam3548 thanks for the explanation. I'm not sure what mine is but the flags with some kind of reflector the reading is instant and I don't even have to be accurate. Other times trying to hit the flag can take some time. I have to sometimes utilise the person putting the flag back in of the group in front if they are available. I'm not using a $400 unit either but when it locks on I get the same reading as others with the expensive units. I guess it's a tradeoff.
Darren Loder I use a slightly older version of Bushnell range finder and a friend of mine has a newer one. The newer one is much better at finding the flag. The color of the flag is also a factor. Yellow flags are very hard to register, red are the easiest

I use the magnet every round. Right on the post of the golf cart. It’s never budged an inch and I drive rough! It works great.
