does the jolt only work when targeting a flag? I just got mine and I'm just messing around with it pointing it at trees and I'm not seeing a red ring or vibration
It came with a nice divot tool, that's about it. It's the same price as the "regular" one. It's also the only version that is available in most stores.
My own opinion on recent problem with this device, and huge disappointment with both the product and customer service. The Tour V5 functioned well when it worked however; I replaced the original battery and it no longer worked. After a discussion of problems Customer Service offered to give me 25% off on a new one, knowing this was less than a year old and functioning until the battery died. Bushnell does not back this product. This is planned obsolescence, and not worth your $300. They may have been good at one time, but based on this experience I won't be purchasing Bushnell products going forward.
V5 didn't meet my expectations. Used it for a dozen 18 hole rounds and each day it wouldn't pick up the flag; it would pick up objects well behind the flag on some of the holes. Very frustrating and disappointing for a $300 purchase. My V4 doesn't have the above problem.

Very difficult to focus on target
v5 shift poor quality... jolt and slope tech stopped working after battery change
Does it compensate for wind
Sorry, but my slope yardage is inaccurate. Disappointed! Bought through Amazon. Not sure if that makes a difference.
Not waterproof. Mine got rained on and died.
