Stewed Duck! WHat a pity, we just flew back to Melbourne, else i would've immediately brought my husband to try with me :D (maybe because i grew up with cantonese grandparents on both sides, so the stewing technique is not unfamiliar, this dish and place is something i would have loved eating at)
I really like how Mandon interacts with the hawkers. The fluent languages, friendly tone, interview probes are done well too. Good job with the hosting!
Just FYI the chicken rice uncle said 九九重阳节 not 清明节. I think the subtitles and translations are something to pay attention to especially if you are aiming to introduce traditional culture to younger English-speaking audience :-)
Kudos for bringing back all those endangered food! but really need to hire someone to vet the Chinese subtitles so many 错别字 or is that speech to text translate from RUclips 😄
There's an error in the transcription of the interview with the chicken rice owner. At 10:06, it should be chao3 yen2 (cook the salt), not ye1 (coconut). Chicken rice has no coconut in it.
【That's actually a really cool and splendid video to watch】 @Eatbook You make a really important and unique point in the video... ... and... ... Yay! Ep 2
caught a few errors in the chinese translation Apologies for the traditional chinese, my preference over simplified one. 10:33 乾 not 趕 10:35 咬勁 not 咬進 11:22 軟 not 暖
As much as i like watching this, there's quite a number of mistakes on the Chinese subtitles...祖先 not 诛仙, 干not赶,咬劲 not 咬近...would suggest to either forget about adding the Chinese subtitles totally since TSL is not a Chinese content producing media or check before releasing the content
I feel like eating Lemang, I don't know if Singapore got anyone sell. As a kid I remembered just buying them off the roadside we go up Malaysia. The bamboo aroma with glutinous rice is shiok.
Probably near the coffeeshop that they were located previously, as seen from the video background. Maybe you can walk around Dickson Road to locate the shop. Can’t seem to find it on google map but definitely near the previous stall that they were at. Used to eat this chicken rice when I was young until 1 year ago before they moved. 😋
the stewed duck is not that unique. you can find it at many tze char stalls or chinese restaurants but usually in larger servings. theirs is nice though.
I don't want to be a grammar nazi but almost every sentence in the Chinese subtitles contain wrong words or totally wrong phrases. This made it extremely hard to watch and follow the stories. I'm sure that this is not the usual quality and standard of eatbook videos so I hope the team can take some effort to at least vet through the subtitles before publishing. The wrong words breaks up sentences a lot and completely changes the sentence, often times making it nonsensical. Considering that every video surely goes through an approval process before uploading I hope that the good efforts of the filming and production team does not go down the drain due to subtitling issues.
Which traditional main would you try? 🤪
Pig organ soup
Thunder tea rice ! 😍😍
I'd try the kacsng pool. Sounds very interesting! This one definitely can't be found in East Malaysia.

Sounds interesting indeed~
thank you so much

I like Mandon’s flow, english or chinese also smooth! And can host and cook. Truly one of the most all rounded person at TSL, eatbook
Worthy effort. Between the Eatbook/TSL M&Ms, think Maverick should be nudged out of his kitchen comfort zone and host this!

That kacang pool looks so nice! I love beans so my mouth was watering 🤤

Hey, bestie
The first boy's voice 😱
Quite shocking there's no kacang pool when it's a popular dish in Johor especially JB!!!!

1:16 Empress Market not the most accessible? But there's a circle line station 100m from it!

Hello! We apologise about the inaccurate Mandarin subtitles! We will improve on this & be better the next time! - Gladys 🥹
Couldn't find the location of Hainan Chicken rice ball on the map, anyone know where they moved to or whether they changed their name?
i think it should be inside the Shing Boon Hwa Food Centre
@@yumi_928 thanks! Will check it out
I try to google it but it’s permanently closed..that’s strange.
Good hosting ! Can carry out very well!
great hosting!

I don't remember the exact stall, but it's around the kacang pool stall.
Operating hours might change as it's Ramadan now.
You should feature Loh Mei from People’s Park Hawker Centre
Love this series
I would never buy kacang pool outside, but whenever my mom makes it, ILL LICK THE PLATE CLEAN FAM
Hi! I searched the Hainan chicken rice ball store but it says its permanently closed
He did say in the video he moved to a nearby stall towards the end of last year, probably isnt updated on google.
Is the chicken rice ball stall still open? Google maps states that it's permanently closed.

Yes kacang pool !
random idea : 72 hours eating everything with kewpie mayonnaise
awkward moment when the china girl said foreigner will like it and she's a foreigner....
一碗饭 a bowl of rice...not a plate😅😅English translation was wrong here too
Next episode… Desserts? 🙂
10:32 the translation for the Chinese rabz

20 years ago people sell sea cucumber duck.
Good episode but I just can't with the Chinese subtitles. Someone needs to proofread before uploading. Btw, im pretty sure Mandon said 肉很软,not 很暖 😅
I think Mandon is trying to say 咬劲? not 咬进 🤔🤔
wow what a luck man 2 left handed youth
Oml yummm kacang pool
Sorry but the Chinese subtitles need some improvement. Good series though!
Mandon speaks mandarin like ah beng 😅
G6pd cannot take broad beans 😳

It's not exotic.....
Kids nowadays don’t even eat real food. Vegetable also cannot, only unhealthy fast food.
