  • Did you know that many DALI LED drivers come with a built-in dimming feature for smooth control of light levels? With Touch Dim, Switch Dim, or Push Dim options, you can easily dim LED lighting without the use of an external control system. Just a simple push-to-make switch is all you need.
Perfect for small lighting setups in offices, conference rooms, or, as shown in this video, for creating an LED tape feature wall. • How to install LED Str...

I love the bit about Dali often overwhelming electricians.
F.. from what I have seen, that isn't hard. Anything other than on/off at 230 Volts will flummox most electricians unless they have done a specialised course in it.
Don't mention characteristic impedance, termination, or reflections.
Heck it's bad enough trying to teach them Ohms Law let alone transmission line theory, or Manchester biphase encoding and differential signalling.
    😂😂😢😅

Why would you fit dali kit if you didn't want the dimming

Because it enables you to set the brightness to any desired level and leave it at that brightness permanently.
Many LED power supplies don't permit that. They give a constant current output of a certain magnitude.
The result is that the power supply may result in LEDs being too bright in the application.
