References (scenes I replicated by watching them):
-Nanatsu no Taizai: I really wanted to make Asgore more dynamic by being more athetic with his trident. Problem was I had no idea how to animate it, the scene where Meliodas twirls to send back a spear was so powerful, it was exactly was I was lookimg for. Of course trying to fit asgore amd his weapon was a challange, but thanks to that I was able to learn how he'd look like from all angles.
-Violet Evergarden: This show is SO good at conveying emotion, it's one of my favorite anime of all time. The scene where Ronan is tellimg Undyne to leave him and he cries was referenced from the scene where rhe commamder tells Violet to leave him, same situation, same feeling. That absolute selflessness to sacrifice your life for those you love. Fantastic anime I recommemd it a lot. It's on Netflix! Go watch it!

Jesus Christ, rewatching this 2 and a half years later, this is a BRUTAL way to retell the Asgore story, really gets across that he incinerated several small children, it makes me question how Toriel ended up forgiving him. I love my man Asgore
Screw the animation being improved, the shot composition and storytelling have improved phenomenally and it really makes the end kick
He didn't want to kill those kids, he was forced to do so, he had to make a choice, he could either make his people free by his actions that would've work out in the end (asriel was able to destroy the barier so why asgore with 7 souls wouldn't be) or wait for a miracle that would've not come.
Also, don't forget that decision to kill every human that will fall into the Underground was made in fury, and asgore feels guilt by the end of the neutral path

I love how it shows through their normal "in game" attacks like Asgore's flashing eyes that these monsters aren't how they used to be, they've become far, far stronger.
well their HP is far higher due to the whole bleeding schtick that Gaster went on about, as for damage. . . HATE does that already, also Asgore knew Frisk was not a full on Genocider and it can be theorized he could/would not use his full power cause of that.

@The Glazing Eye not inherently. Since he was in a coma, the last thing he'll remember is indeed, there was another kid (Frisk). He was probably affected by the change of code as well, so he remembers another child, but cannot get into details. I may be wrong though
