Honestly, Glitchtale's biggest writting flaw comes after Frisk's death. Not only the ramification of Frisk's and Chara's switching is swept under a rug, but then an entire story arc is shown in 5 minutes, AND THEN Chara gets another change with "uh technicly, he didn't reset, so it doesn't count", and we got no explanation of HOW HIS GHOST WAS ABLE TO GLITCH THAT F@CKING NECKLACE BACK TO THE PAST.
Timeline starts to delete Chara sees a singular file and realises there still a chance and uses their determination to persist and enter that file. Places the locket before their determination time runs out and they die. Locket creates a new outcome and the timeline inst deleted. Things don’t need to be explained when they’re obvious.
Personally, i started losing interest in the series when Frisk was erased. Like... really. Someone FINALLY creates an actual compelling Frisk that isn't just a "pwecious cinnamon roll uwu" and they just... kill him off?

What hurts the most is that, there were originally some CRAZY plans for the fight. Apparently there were old sketches that showed Chara losing an arm and then just growing a new one using HATE on the spot. Asriel was also supposed to go full god mode and from the sketches, it looked way better than what we saw in the episode. Besides, one of the Dreemurrs was supposed to die. Or at least it was heavily implied to be that way. Cami hyped this fight up like crazy saying no one would be ready, and then it ended up being worse than the Kumuzilla fight. My guess is Cami just wanted to rush the finale so she could focus on the prequels, which as you know, got cancelled in the end. By the way thanks so much for mentioning Last Hope! Really happy that people loved it :") Hoping to still see you around by the time we finish NEO Madness, a prequel to LH.

Frisk vs Betty is the most iconic fight for that reason, literally generational and it still holds up nowadays(its the third most popular video on cami's channel) shame its the peak and the last good fight man it could've been great💔

I would LOVE to hear your opinion on underverse and the way it handles canon/fanon with it's own interpretation of the characters. While the series shares the same DNA as glitchtale on a undertale fan-created series, the way it branches and avoids the problems that glitchtale does could get it's own video tbh.
Underverse is so good. I love the fact how it recognises that there are more timelines or alternations of one alternate timeline exist at the same time. Like how there are 2 aftertale timelines and possibly more. The only complaint I have is the overwrite button. You normally need the purple soul to use it and yet Chara does so with 95% of a DT soul.. They don't have a single shade of purple so how does that work?

In order to use a fragment of the button, the user has to have at least 50% of determination (not counting Xgaster if he has his full soul). @@ellochickennugget1015 At the end of Xtale, Cross absorbs Xfrisk’s soul which had half of Overwrite & half of dt but it changes into a half Dt half monster soul. But he still absorbed the half of overwrite. In the Underverse intro of season 1 if you pause at the right time (and at some parts of the episodes as well), his and Xchara’s soul switches to the same half purple (Xgaster) and half red dt soul. K think there’s a better explanation near the end of the main xtale comic though (it’s mostly Cross’s POV of the last episode of Xtale)
To be honest, camilla fumbled the series so hard because of her passion and need to work on the prequel, i still remember being a die-hard glitchtale fan and checking social media everyday so i can gen any news about glitchtale and the majority of time camilla complained about how excited she was about making the prequel and wanting to finish with the season 2, this is not a hateful comment towards her but im just dissappointed of her because of the potential she had with the series(ignore the spelling mistakes i made)
9:17 - Aside from what was already said in the video, I would also like to bring up that Asriel's transformation into Demigod of Hyperdeath (fan given name back in 2022 when it came out) completely breaks established Season 2 canon. Episode 4 part 1 established that the reason monsters can bleed and handle determination now is because they have physical matter. Now, Asriel bleeds when Hate stabs him, right? Well, the problem arises when episode 5 establishes that Hate can recreate monster bodies because they're made of magic, but not humans because they're physical. Which means that, since Asriel was revived by Hate, he's made up purely of magic. This means he should NOT be able to bleed, and if he were to transform, he should turn into melting ice cream on the spot, because he lacks the one thing that would make that not happen. What, did he stop at a damn McDonalds on the way to the canyon to fight Hate? How did he even know Chara and Hate were there? I think Glitchtale, as a whole, is a failure writing wise, Episode 9 being the biggest offender of this and feels like the entire first half of the episode is filler. Nothing significant would change if Gaster killing Betty was the end of it and we cut to the second half of Hope, and I don't even like that he was the one who killed her, but it sure as hell is better than whatever *this* is
Only evidence for Asriel being able to handle it would just be the fact he's the son of 2 Boss Monsters and they can handle a Human Soul perfectly so going by the logic Asriel should as well it's probably why Asriel was able to do it 1st time around when he took Chara's OG Soul.
@@thehybrid3947 when a monster absorbs a human soul, they merge together into one, so it's no longer just a human or just a monster soul but something else entirely (also there isn't any indication that it was a boss monster thing), so it's possible it may have different properties. But the problem would still exist here because Asriel is not like that, he doesn't have a hybrid soul, his soul is *purely* a human one (he shouldn't even count as a boss monster), which is weird enough as is, then the physical matter issue comes up, which is funny because it's a problem GT itself created. Honestly speaking, Asriel having a soul that is purely human is so dumb, because we return to the physical matter issue, except we can trace it back to way before episode 9 lmao. Human souls are supposed to have a *lot* of DT in them, yet here's this 100% pure magic being walking around since episode 5 after hate revived him, instead of just melting lol
I noticed this immediately and when Asriel transformed into his god form, I knew that Hate was done for. It was honestly so upsetting and just kind of a bullshit fight for Hate, cause Hate 100% would've won that fight. Chara also has some heavy bull in the fight scene too, if you really watch the fight scene and even slow down some scenes, you can see that Chara counters almost every single one of Hates attacks with a shield or by tanking it. Its especially bullshit when you realized Hate broke Chara's shield multiple times in that fight.

i have followed glitchtale since it was just a fan animation of frisk/chara vs sans with a cool alternate ending, i defended this series to the bitter end! and it's ending was SO fucking disappointing to me. it's so sad because i loved GT's interpretation of gaster, i loved what they did with chara! glitchtale unironically has affected my writing in a significant way and the fact it ended on such a... shitty, low effort note is just.. sad. it sucks! i think season 2 started off decently okay, i personally think people give this series way too much shit purely because camila is a terrible person (which, she is, don't get me wrong. but we're here to talk about glitchtale as a Series not it's creator) but none of it lead to anything meaningful or thought provoking. i get it's ultimately just animated undertale fanfiction but like.. still. betty could of been such a good character, and to some levels i think she isn't a completely horribly written character i think the series dropped the ball when they killed off frisk in such a weird and convoluted manner. really that's my biggest problem with this series as a whole; it kills off characters for no other reason than just to kill them off sorry for the novel length comment but this series meant a lot to me but it's ending just being so.. meaningless and disappointing sucks ass
ughhhhh true, i REALLY wish camila made betty a manipulative villain for longer. I still have some love for the series as it was such a big part of my childhood but my god does it have so many problems- like you said the main things wrong with it came after frisks death, though i will admit some of my favorite scenes/fights are from past this point- (asgore vs betty, metaton vs betty, Jessica's development and death.) It really sucks that it flopped in the end because of how good frisk and gaster were here. Also betty had so much protentional ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I never understood why the series finale focused on the random human OCs we barely knew. The last fight also was very predictable, nothing new happened, it was just a slice and dice finish. We should have focused more on Chara and Asriel, but instead we got… some angry abusive mom in a hallway??? Wrong time and wrong place The finale should have been about loss imo, and handling that loss. Living on even when many have died, but never forgetting their memory. Letting many live with you. But Camila wanted us to forget dead characters for some reason. It was strange.

My perspective is that the part of the fandom this series was meant for simply grew out of it, and there just isn't enough in it except for mayhe some nostalgia to hook people in by itself after all the years. Very simply little take and an attitude towards things that's just what it is and goes nowhere further.
That was a pretty good video! The script feels nicely paced, your voice is very nice for narration and the video editing is funny and visually interesting, I know next to nothing about glitchtale but this was entertaining on it's own. Also 6:17 hey I made that :D
Asriel simply didn’t get enough development with Chara to justify the final fight. Any potential character development was lost when Camila decided to make him evil for 4 of the 9 episodes of season 2. If he had gotten more development, things would've been more impactful imo.
Thank you for this. This if the first time I've seen someone properly give the final a fair critique. Normally people just complain about Asriel while ignoring other characters like Undyne and Gaster technically did bigger "ass pulls"
So, this is coming from someone who has been following and enjoying Glitchtale for years. I love the series and it holds a very special place in my heart. I think the problem, though, is not that it is a bad series, but that it’s an amateur one. It was made up as it went by one lady working in her own home. The vision from the start of the start of the series wasn’t what we got in the end. I think it would be a good idea to write down all of the established lore and world building and then use that to make a good, in-depth re-write. Honestly, the potential is there to make something absolutely amazing! It just needs some serious fine-tuning to get there.
I mean it was still a decent series. Sure the writing and plot were sometimes questionable but the fight scenes, the music, the emotional scenes, and the imaginative new direction for undertale, all of it was done ridiculously well. Don’t get so caught up in its flaws that you forget its strengths.

Jessica’s death meant nothing to me because I don’t care about her, anything with Ronin or Rave just took up screen time in my eyes. The only things I really cared about was the original characters that UNDERTALE made me love not Glitchtale. I have more complaints but I don’t really want to entirely bash this show. Like you said the combat is pretty good

The reason the sans's death triggered me is that in the original game, HE CAN LITERALLY AFECT TIME AND SPACE AND USE IT TO PRANK YOU WHEN YOU ENTER IN HIS ROOM ! Sans could've just switched his place with betty when she shot.
Sans most likely was in shock though if he wasn't then with his determination boosted power he probably could have messed with time and space to an even greater degree of what he could normally do its a shame that power is never used in focus of JUST sans spamming gaster blasters

I think we need to step back and remind ourselves that camila isn't a story-teller but an animator(and even that is debatable unless you're looking at the fight scenes). This show peaked during frisk shooting up to level 19 and then after that i cant remember what the heck happened anymore aside from the gaster/sans/papyrus vs betty fight.

@@BlueSoulGamer I am an animator who makes animations of my original characters, and while I haven't done any projects nowhere near as big as glitchtale it doesn't excuse bad character designs. even if camila may be aiming for simpler designs to make animation easier, there is still quite a lot of soul you can add to it

My personal problem with the final episode is how if you cut all the fights after betty's death nothing would change, there was no progression for anyone here. Also the hate's fight is one of the most dull things i have seen, i just felt nothing watching it.
Not that hot of a take : The show never was great and relied too much on pulling the viewer's emotion onto a string and the fanbase's low standart. After all, who is more emotionnal than the good ol' depressed UT kid. Everybody that loved it will grow out of it. As the people grow up, they will notice the every flaws. Of course, i'm saying this while dissociating the art from the artist. Because when you put miss Cuevas into the picture, there's a lot more criticisms to be said. (If you know, you know)

Your ideas about Chara subconsciously immitating frisk's combat moves and the chara monologue actually have potential if you ask me! Also about the series, as a kid I admit I genuinely looked up to it and admired it profoundly. Now that I have grown up and learned more about story building and depth and all that, I agree with what RUclipsrs like you say in their reviews of the series. Of course, that doesn't mean I can pretend I never liked the series. Great video!
it is said that even if your consumed by hate in glitchtale or you are hate itself your actions always relate to your real personality and bete noire (the hate) felt like she betrayed what couldve been her friends they were so nice to her she didnt even think it through this goes back to bettys past a bravery soul who used the bete noire spell turning into bete noire since their bravery was falling apart after that their soul was still falling apart so she died and sacrificed herself for a bete noire to be born with a goal to earn enough trust to chaos pure chaos the reborn bete noire and the other bete noire from the past still had the same personality from being a bravery soul this means they still had emotions and they felt bad so when a hate corrupted soul feels emotional feelings other than hate their soul starts to crack this is most likely the same for frisk if they lose determination from emotional events they could die.
I'm not gonna lie, the worldbuilding kind of trashed the original story and everything it was originally about. It was kind of weird, but whatever. They kind of made a weird origin story that didn't really match up with the themes of the actual story. To be honest, Frisk's arc was really messed up. I think it would be cooler if they decided to use their remaining time to go on a rampage, destroying as much of their enemy as possible, before passing everything down to Chara in one final strike. So the answer with their question of how to deal with an uncertain future, is to just keep fighting on.
I feel like Frisk being replaced is what ruined the series, and I know this has been repeated again and again but to explain what I mean a little bit: The hate, at least before all the weird prequel stuff came up, was made by Frisk, it's a monster of his own making, him being erased and throwing Chara at his problems feels like such a cheat, he MADE every problem in the series, and then just gets to walk away? On top of that, it would have made so much more sense for the final battle to be between Frisk and Hate, like forcing him to confront his own mistakes, it's bad enough that he never had to deal with the consequences of allowing Bete to be created by fucking up the timeline, but Frisk made everybody else's lives worse, and killed people with no conclusion, no justice or atonement of any kind, he just gets off scott free and loads his problems on to everybody else.

Actually, I am a very big fan of the GT series, but I suffered from it. A lot. All thanks to season 2! I mean, like S1, S2 had some PEAK moments I am truly in love with, like Frisk vs Betty fight and of course Gaster rematching the whole HELL out of this pink [beast]. The second fight is just the point when the show must have been stopped. For the greater good. Like, come ON, Camilla! You did your very, VERY best to WISELY, SLOWLY build up Gaster's poor mental state, and then you made it BLAST like a darn NUKE! I thought I was watching JJK type of stuff. You prooved that W.D. Gaster is truly the most powerful, most frightening character in the show. Make it stop, make this poor old man even DIE for that, no one will scream "EWW, WHYY!?!?!/11/11/1???"! EVERYONE will just pay respect for dead G, who made FEAR feel FEAR, who killed HATE with HATE!.. But he-e-e-e-e-ell nah, "Cami want Moni" accident happened. So here we are, yupie.
I like this video, but there is one thing... According to the (now private) official website for Glitchtale, they confirmed that Hate doesn't die. This is because all Hate is one entity and more of it exists inside Chara's heart. Not to mention, it can still generate in any human hearts with chroma magic. Personally, I also thought the ending was a little underwhelming. Otherwise, I agree with more or less everything you said*
I have a quick question, how did Betty even die? We were literally told, again and again that only determination can beat fear, the why does Gaster just kills her? It does not make sense, yeah you could argue that "the beams were red so they have determination" or some shit like that, but then why building up the determination vs fear when you just use a bald eggman to finish the job?
The problem is that the plot is effectively forced to a certain conclusion, turning characters like chara and asriel into plot devices, with little to no change in their personalities. Hate itself only really acts like a generic version of a venom symbyote, or the darkness from kingdom hearts, despite being to Frisk what Kuma was to Betty. It feels like everything in that fight was forced, and all the tension was released with the death of betty. Edit: The problem with hate coming from someone else is that it undermines frisks original ark of taking acountability. You could argue that Frisk abused the reset, but by frisks own admision to asriel, the only thing past the endings was a blank screen. Meaning leaving Chara to hate created by their own actions was what Frisk first did wrong, and that hate coming from someone else means that Frisk was in the same position as Chara. Which by glitchtales logic, makes Frisk as excuseable as Chara.
Honestly, I only liked the first season of Glitchtale, and then it separated itself so much from the source material that it ended up becoming an AU, (it wouldn't be a problem if Camila didn't insist that it's an AT)
I think you did good job explaining about the disappointing ending of GT, I lost interest because of how much Camila kept changing from UT and kept changing overall.
I honestly feel like Hate was done dirty in Hope, im sorry but should've won that fight. If you slow down the entire fight and watch how many times Chara manifests a shield out of nowhere to counter almost every single one of Hate's attacks, its bull; and once Hate gets a "advantage" in the fight (killing Asriel), Asriel just says nuh uh and uses one hand to break Hate's DT broadsword while its inside his chest. The Last Hope is good, but Hate was made to be more like a joke during some of the fight; and he still lost despite killing Chara, and Asriel goes through like 2 transformations. Would it have been disappointing for a lot of people that Chara and Asriel, and whoever else died to Hate in Hope? Yes, but for me and maybe a few others, no. When Bete Noire died and unleashed Hate it was honestly seemed like such a threat. The way that Hate was introduced that basically the world stopped for moment as a beam of pink shot into the sky and the entire sky turned into a pinkish/black. It made this feel as if the world was ending and this all powerful being was just unleashed to kill everything, and given how truly powerful Hate is; it would've happened. However as I said earlier, Chara countered 90% of hates attacks just by tanking it or a shield, despite hate breaking / cracking the same shield over and over. I honestly I feel like that hate winning would've been a perfect way to end Glitchtale and Season 2, would it have left a lot of unanswered questions and made people upset? Hell yes. There is just no way I'm watching Season 3 after that fight, Hate was honestly made out to be a joke. You can kind of like how the new suicide squad game made Batman's death horrible, nobody is mad that he died; its how he died.
Tbh the "Frisk erases themselves" part is the one that ruined everything. This completely undermines the idea of Frisk not being able to reset as this search and replace tool would have to SAVE and LOAD, there is no such mechanism by which you can just replace a person, and even if there was - Frisk might've just used this menu to erase Betty from existence. This act also created timeline issues which Glitchtale had never expanded on. Chara might've as well woken up inside Asriel due to Asriel's soul being made of "what was left of Chara's soul".
to me glitched tale was something special since it was something I used to watch when younger, but that last episode like I was so hyped up for it and it took so much time I imagined how much of a monster hate would like it would be the final fight of the series and since mostt of them didnt disapoint I was so hyped, then the monster was just a black guy, literally and when I saw it I never continueed the episode I dont even know what hapens after that, also I rewatcheed all of it for that last episodee and oh gosh from an older eye it is so bad like the only reason you would watch it is for the fights tthats it

Back in 2020, i made a couple of fanarts for HATE's true form that, now that i look them back, they look somewhat better than the official one. I took for inspiration the Delta Rune (that iconic symbol from Undertale/Deltarune) and made it look intimidating (it kinda looked like a Kirby final boss). I even managed to make that artwork featured in a Glitchtale Showcase, in hope (no pun intended) that Camila would use it for the finale, instead we got what we got. Funny story: back in 2021, i compared HATE's final form to a "Sword Fighter Ganondorf". At the time, when i said that, what i meant was the Ganondorf from the Smash Bros series (the one that everyone remembers for his "DORIYAH"), then 2023 came and TOTK was released and well... the final boss...
If camila did not stole/trace animations from animes, stay out from disgusting stuff and controversies, even though the series is kinda cringe when some ope character such as asriel become weaker and did not activate his god mode making him die early, or gaster is only op when he's introduced for the first time etc, i don't really think glitchtale will receive more hate. It's just sad seeing people in ut become worse people or pred*t*r etc. Man this is just too bad.
Theres another thing I have a ton of issues with. 80% of all well-animated scenes (especially the 1st half of the Hate fight) were already shown in the trailer. The trailer was just perfect, but seeing almost all scenes repeat, and the overall story of the episode being almost non existent, the episode felt very underwhelming, with the best part of the episode (the animation) already being exposed a lot in the trailer

3:19 season one chara gains the hate because it’s explained that when frisk killed monsters he got hate from the monster from being killed and frisk threw the hate off their soul onto chara during season one and it’s explained at the end of season one chara says "do you know where that hate ended up right into me" Frisk made the hate exist then onto chara because they didn’t believe in consequences
Honestly... the story dosent make sense since it makes chara as the hateful spiteful person... they really are not... they are a soul that could not move on and posessed frisk.... also the part where gaster and jessica was trapped does not make sense one bit... literally all the power levels in this story is weird. Also they literally made sans die for no apparent reason. Like what was the point? What was the actual point !? Also they made toriel into this "apathetic towards her husband, and a full on coward" when in reality, what asgore did was screwed up, both were in the wrong here, asgore being a empty husk of a killing machine while toriel just became a mess...
Chara WAS a spiteful person in Undertale. They weren't a bad creepy monster murderer kid who killed the entire underground, but they weren't the best person. As we see from Asriel's dialouge and their interactions in the true lab tapes, Chara's morality and motivations for freeing the monsters had always been a little bit skeptical. It's one of the things I LOVE about the character and why I hate both depecrions of them from either side of the spectrum.
Glitchtale was so "good" in the past when you were a kid (not saying you cannot enjoy something whether your age everybody has an opinion) but when you look back at it, it is like Lego Chima cringe
GREAT VIDEO!! These are pretty much my thoughts exactly and it's nice to see someone else come to the same conclusion. Tho I will say I think you missed what was going on with Chara and Asriel ever so slightly. I wish he did, but Chara didn't ever take up the main character spot. He was a supporting character for Asriel's arc, which was about his bottled emotions. Hope's intention was to showcase how much stronger Asriel is now that he's no longer doing that. This is one of my biggest gripes with Glitchtale because Asriel's arc is probably the deepest and most relatable arc and, like a lot of things in Glitchtale, it is not made clear whatsoever. I don't think I've seen a single person understand what went on with him. Gaster for example WAS made clear. He had that buildup scene where he flashbacked to everything that built to that moment. IF THEY JUST GAVE ASRIEL A MOMENT LIKE THAT BEFORE HE TRANSFORMED, Hope would've been MILES better. But yeah. Those are my thoughts. I'm actually working on a small thing called "Glitchtale Season 2.5" where I go in and try to put a few things that were missing front and center. And I also give Chara that big arc they were missing. From what you were saying, I think you'd love it. But anyways, sorry for the rant, really love the video! I wasn’t really disappointed but I was just in a blank as I watched the finale because it was a whole year since episode 8, and during that time I really didn’t care much about the actual series, I honestly thought they just ended it there for some reason
So heres my opinion on glitchtale s2 and how it should have been if camila didnt mess up towards the end it how could it have been? Well first of all frisk being erased is the biggest mistake in the series since it leaves many plotholes like is S1 now uncannon and was it just like a good chara blocked the hit all the way back in s1 ep1 "megalomaniac" and shit, and frisk was the only character with good char development except undyne and papyrus the next issue is that asriel didnt get enough character development, actually nearly no one but frisk papyrus and undyne did, but all 3 went to waste with frisk being erased, papyrus being irrelevant and undyne being unused in the fight against hate, but heres how it could have been fixed First of all in my opinion the whole frisk glitching due to breaking the reset was a bad idea, and when frisk got stuck against asriel he should have used the determination syringes that were used to make the amalgamations to get a power boost to beat the fear corrupted asriel Next, the duel between bete and the skele 3 should have been delayed, and asriel should have been gotten more character development and prepare for the final fight And finally after Gaster kills bete and faints, when hate finally got shown i think that was the perfect moment for papyrus to snap trying to protect gaster from hate and 1v1 the hate untill frisk and asriel would come to the rescue, also the hate character could have been way better, it was unoriginal since it was just S1 endings chara but worse and had no powers kinda like a whole ass rework for hate And thats how Glitchtale could have been saved in my opinion
Honestly, Glitchtale's biggest writting flaw comes after Frisk's death. Not only the ramification of Frisk's and Chara's switching is swept under a rug, but then an entire story arc is shown in 5 minutes, AND THEN Chara gets another change with "uh technicly, he didn't reset, so it doesn't count", and we got no explanation of HOW HIS GHOST WAS ABLE TO GLITCH THAT F@CKING NECKLACE BACK TO THE PAST.

What hurts the most is that, there were originally some CRAZY plans for the fight. Apparently there were old sketches that showed Chara losing an arm and then just growing a new one using HATE on the spot. Asriel was also supposed to go full god mode and from the sketches, it looked way better than what we saw in the episode. Besides, one of the Dreemurrs was supposed to die. Or at least it was heavily implied to be that way. Cami hyped this fight up like crazy saying no one would be ready, and then it ended up being worse than the Kumuzilla fight.
My guess is Cami just wanted to rush the finale so she could focus on the prequels, which as you know, got cancelled in the end.

I would LOVE to hear your opinion on underverse and the way it handles canon/fanon with it's own interpretation of the characters. While the series shares the same DNA as glitchtale on a undertale fan-created series, the way it branches and avoids the problems that glitchtale does could get it's own video tbh.
Underverse is so good. I love the fact how it recognises that there are more timelines or alternations of one alternate timeline exist at the same time. Like how there are 2 aftertale timelines and possibly more.
The only complaint I have is the overwrite button. You normally need the purple soul to use it and yet Chara does so with 95% of a DT soul.. They don't have a single shade of purple so how does that work?

In the Underverse intro of season 1 if you pause at the right time (and at some parts of the episodes as well), his and Xchara’s soul switches to the same half purple (Xgaster) and half red dt soul.
K think there’s a better explanation near the end of the main xtale comic though (it’s mostly Cross’s POV of the last episode of Xtale)
To be honest, camilla fumbled the series so hard because of her passion and need to work on the prequel, i still remember being a die-hard glitchtale fan and checking social media everyday so i can gen any news about glitchtale and the majority of time camilla complained about how excited she was about making the prequel and wanting to finish with the season 2, this is not a hateful comment towards her but im just dissappointed of her because of the potential she had with the series(ignore the spelling mistakes i made)

9:17 - Aside from what was already said in the video, I would also like to bring up that Asriel's transformation into Demigod of Hyperdeath (fan given name back in 2022 when it came out) completely breaks established Season 2 canon.
Episode 4 part 1 established that the reason monsters can bleed and handle determination now is because they have physical matter. Now, Asriel bleeds when Hate stabs him, right? Well, the problem arises when episode 5 establishes that Hate can recreate monster bodies because they're made of magic, but not humans because they're physical.
Which means that, since Asriel was revived by Hate, he's made up purely of magic. This means he should NOT be able to bleed, and if he were to transform, he should turn into melting ice cream on the spot, because he lacks the one thing that would make that not happen. What, did he stop at a damn McDonalds on the way to the canyon to fight Hate? How did he even know Chara and Hate were there?
I think Glitchtale, as a whole, is a failure writing wise, Episode 9 being the biggest offender of this and feels like the entire first half of the episode is filler. Nothing significant would change if Gaster killing Betty was the end of it and we cut to the second half of Hope, and I don't even like that he was the one who killed her, but it sure as hell is better than whatever *this* is

Only evidence for Asriel being able to handle it would just be the fact he's the son of 2 Boss Monsters and they can handle a Human Soul perfectly so going by the logic Asriel should as well it's probably why Asriel was able to do it 1st time around when he took Chara's OG Soul.
@@thehybrid3947 when a monster absorbs a human soul, they merge together into one, so it's no longer just a human or just a monster soul but something else entirely (also there isn't any indication that it was a boss monster thing), so it's possible it may have different properties. But the problem would still exist here because Asriel is not like that, he doesn't have a hybrid soul, his soul is *purely* a human one (he shouldn't even count as a boss monster), which is weird enough as is, then the physical matter issue comes up, which is funny because it's a problem GT itself created.
Honestly speaking, Asriel having a soul that is purely human is so dumb, because we return to the physical matter issue, except we can trace it back to way before episode 9 lmao. Human souls are supposed to have a *lot* of DT in them, yet here's this 100% pure magic being walking around since episode 5 after hate revived him, instead of just melting lol
I noticed this immediately and when Asriel transformed into his god form, I knew that Hate was done for. It was honestly so upsetting and just kind of a bullshit fight for Hate, cause Hate 100% would've won that fight. Chara also has some heavy bull in the fight scene too, if you really watch the fight scene and even slow down some scenes, you can see that Chara counters almost every single one of Hates attacks with a shield or by tanking it. Its especially bullshit when you realized Hate broke Chara's shield multiple times in that fight.
We're talking about a series that never had a plan or a story. Plus, Camilla stole Frisk's slash attack at Betty from anime.

i have followed glitchtale since it was just a fan animation of frisk/chara vs sans with a cool alternate ending, i defended this series to the bitter end! and it's ending was SO fucking disappointing to me. it's so sad because i loved GT's interpretation of gaster, i loved what they did with chara! glitchtale unironically has affected my writing in a significant way and the fact it ended on such a... shitty, low effort note is just.. sad.
it sucks! i think season 2 started off decently okay, i personally think people give this series way too much shit purely because camila is a terrible person (which, she is, don't get me wrong. but we're here to talk about glitchtale as a Series not it's creator) but none of it lead to anything meaningful or thought provoking.

Fr, there was a lot of anticipation for animosity and it actually delivered in most aspects spectacularly
My perspective is that the part of the fandom this series was meant for simply grew out of it, and there just isn't enough in it except for mayhe some nostalgia to hook people in by itself after all the years. Very simply little take and an attitude towards things that's just what it is and goes nowhere further.

Asriel simply didn’t get enough development with Chara to justify the final fight. Any potential character development was lost when Camila decided to make him evil for 4 of the 9 episodes of season 2. If he had gotten more development, things would've been more impactful imo.

So, this is coming from someone who has been following and enjoying Glitchtale for years. I love the series and it holds a very special place in my heart. I think the problem, though, is not that it is a bad series, but that it’s an amateur one. It was made up as it went by one lady working in her own home. The vision from the start of the start of the series wasn’t what we got in the end.
I think it would be a good idea to write down all of the established lore and world building and then use that to make a good, in-depth re-write. Honestly, the potential is there to make something absolutely amazing! It just needs some serious fine-tuning to get there.

I mean it was still a decent series. Sure the writing and plot were sometimes questionable but the fight scenes, the music, the emotional scenes, and the imaginative new direction for undertale, all of it was done ridiculously well. Don’t get so caught up in its flaws that you forget its strengths.

Jessica’s death meant nothing to me because I don’t care about her, anything with Ronin or Rave just took up screen time in my eyes. The only things I really cared about was the original characters that UNDERTALE made me love not Glitchtale. I have more complaints but I don’t really want to entirely bash this show. Like you said the combat is pretty good

The reason the sans's death triggered me is that in the original game, HE CAN LITERALLY AFECT TIME AND SPACE AND USE IT TO PRANK YOU WHEN YOU ENTER IN HIS ROOM ! Sans could've just switched his place with betty when she shot.
Sans most likely was in shock though if he wasn't then with his determination boosted power he probably could have messed with time and space to an even greater degree of what he could normally do its a shame that power is never used in focus of JUST sans spamming gaster blasters

I think we need to step back and remind ourselves that camila isn't a story-teller but an animator(and even that is debatable unless you're looking at the fight scenes). This show peaked during frisk shooting up to level 19 and then after that i cant remember what the heck happened anymore aside from the gaster/sans/papyrus vs betty fight.
Camila just wanted Asriel and Chara to renact Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki without actually working on making it a satisfying end

Your ideas about Chara subconsciously immitating frisk's combat moves and the chara monologue actually have potential if you ask me! Also about the series, as a kid I admit I genuinely looked up to it and admired it profoundly. Now that I have grown up and learned more about story building and depth and all that, I agree with what RUclipsrs like you say in their reviews of the series. Of course, that doesn't mean I can pretend I never liked the series. Great video!
it is said that even if your consumed by hate in glitchtale or you are hate itself your actions always relate to your real personality and bete noire (the hate) felt like she betrayed what couldve been her friends they were so nice to her she didnt even think it through this goes back to bettys past a bravery soul who used the bete noire spell turning into bete noire since their bravery was falling apart after that their soul was still falling apart so she died and sacrificed herself for a bete noire to be born with a goal to earn enough trust to chaos pure chaos the reborn bete noire and the other bete noire from the past still had the same personality from being a bravery soul this means they still had emotions and they felt bad so when a hate corrupted soul feels emotional feelings other than hate their soul starts to crack this is most likely the same for frisk if they lose determination from emotional events they could die.

I'm not gonna lie, the worldbuilding kind of trashed the original story and everything it was originally about.
It was kind of weird, but whatever.
They kind of made a weird origin story that didn't really match up with the themes of the actual story.
To be honest, Frisk's arc was really messed up. I think it would be cooler if they decided to use their remaining time to go on a rampage, destroying as much of their enemy as possible, before passing everything down to Chara in one final strike.

I feel like Frisk being replaced is what ruined the series, and I know this has been repeated again and again but to explain what I mean a little bit:
The hate, at least before all the weird prequel stuff came up, was made by Frisk, it's a monster of his own making, him being erased and throwing Chara at his problems feels like such a cheat, he MADE every problem in the series, and then just gets to walk away? On top of that, it would have made so much more sense for the final battle to be between Frisk and Hate, like forcing him to confront his own mistakes, it's bad enough that he never had to deal with the consequences of allowing Bete to be created by fucking up the timeline, but Frisk made everybody else's lives worse, and killed people with no conclusion, no justice or atonement of any kind, he just gets off scott free and loads his problems on to everybody else.
Well, when you wonder why Alphys was never mentioned again after her death, you start to notice something kinda sus between....undyne and one of the human oc's....kinda disgusting ngl

I mean, like S1, S2 had some PEAK moments I am truly in love with, like Frisk vs Betty fight and of course Gaster rematching the whole HELL out of this pink [beast].
The second fight is just the point when the show must have been stopped. For the greater good. Like, come ON, Camilla! You did your very, VERY best to WISELY, SLOWLY build up Gaster's poor mental state, and then you made it BLAST like a darn NUKE! I thought I was watching JJK type of stuff. You prooved that W.D. Gaster is truly the most powerful, most frightening character in the show. Make it stop, make this poor old man even DIE for that, no one will scream "EWW, WHYY!?!?!/11/11/1???"! EVERYONE will just pay respect for dead G, who made FEAR feel FEAR, who killed HATE with HATE!..

I like this video, but there is one thing... According to the (now private) official website for Glitchtale, they confirmed that Hate doesn't die. This is because all Hate is one entity and more of it exists inside Chara's heart. Not to mention, it can still generate in any human hearts with chroma magic. Personally, I also thought the ending was a little underwhelming. Otherwise, I agree with more or less everything you said*

I have a quick question, how did Betty even die? We were literally told, again and again that only determination can beat fear, the why does Gaster just kills her? It does not make sense, yeah you could argue that "the beams were red so they have determination" or some shit like that, but then why building up the determination vs fear when you just use a bald eggman to finish the job?
Also it feels like they just made a punching bag out of asriel

The problem is that the plot is effectively forced to a certain conclusion, turning characters like chara and asriel into plot devices, with little to no change in their personalities. Hate itself only really acts like a generic version of a venom symbyote, or the darkness from kingdom hearts, despite being to Frisk what Kuma was to Betty. It feels like everything in that fight was forced, and all the tension was released with the death of betty.
Edit: The problem with hate coming from someone else is that it undermines frisks original ark of taking acountability. You could argue that Frisk abused the reset, but by frisks own admision to asriel, the only thing past the endings was a blank screen. Meaning leaving Chara to hate created by their own actions was what Frisk first did wrong, and that hate coming from someone else means that Frisk was in the same position as Chara. Which by glitchtales logic, makes Frisk as excuseable as Chara.

Honestly, I only liked the first season of Glitchtale, and then it separated itself so much from the source material that it ended up becoming an AU, (it wouldn't be a problem if Camila didn't insist that it's an AT)
I think you did good job explaining about the disappointing ending of GT, I lost interest because of how much Camila kept changing from UT and kept changing overall.

I honestly feel like Hate was done dirty in Hope, im sorry but should've won that fight. If you slow down the entire fight and watch how many times Chara manifests a shield out of nowhere to counter almost every single one of Hate's attacks, its bull; and once Hate gets a "advantage" in the fight (killing Asriel), Asriel just says nuh uh and uses one hand to break Hate's DT broadsword while its inside his chest. The Last Hope is good, but Hate was made to be more like a joke during some of the fight; and he still lost despite killing Chara, and Asriel goes through like 2 transformations. Would it have been disappointing for a lot of people that Chara and Asriel, and whoever else died to Hate in Hope? Yes, but for me and maybe a few others, no. When Bete Noire died and unleashed Hate it was honestly seemed like such a threat. The way that Hate was introduced that basically the world stopped for moment as a beam of pink shot into the sky and the entire sky turned into a pinkish/black. It made this feel as if the world was ending and this all powerful being was just unleashed to kill everything, and given how truly powerful Hate is; it would've happened. However as I said earlier, Chara countered 90% of hates attacks just by tanking it or a shield, despite hate breaking / cracking the same shield over and over. I honestly I feel like that hate winning would've been a perfect way to end Glitchtale and Season 2, would it have left a lot of unanswered questions and made people upset? Hell yes. There is just no way I'm watching Season 3 after that fight, Hate was honestly made out to be a joke. You can kind of like how the new suicide squad game made Batman's death horrible, nobody is mad that he died; its how he died.
Tbh the "Frisk erases themselves" part is the one that ruined everything. This completely undermines the idea of Frisk not being able to reset as this search and replace tool would have to SAVE and LOAD, there is no such mechanism by which you can just replace a person, and even if there was - Frisk might've just used this menu to erase Betty from existence. This act also created timeline issues which Glitchtale had never expanded on.
Chara might've as well woken up inside Asriel due to Asriel's soul being made of "what was left of Chara's soul".
to me glitched tale was something special since it was something I used to watch when younger, but that last episode like I was so hyped up for it and it took so much time I imagined how much of a monster hate would like it would be the final fight of the series and since mostt of them didnt disapoint I was so hyped, then the monster was just a black guy, literally and when I saw it I never continueed the episode I dont even know what hapens after that, also I rewatcheed all of it for that last episodee and oh gosh from an older eye it is so bad like the only reason you would watch it is for the fights tthats it
also what actually happened to chara is that frisk threw his hate from his genocide run onto chara thinking it would just "go away" just to confirm yall glitchtale frisk and chara are confirmed male

The entirety of Glitchtale was disappointing imo
Back in 2020, i made a couple of fanarts for HATE's true form that, now that i look them back, they look somewhat better than the official one.
I took for inspiration the Delta Rune (that iconic symbol from Undertale/Deltarune) and made it look intimidating (it kinda looked like a Kirby final boss). I even managed to make that artwork featured in a Glitchtale Showcase, in hope (no pun intended) that Camila would use it for the finale, instead we got what we got.
Funny story: back in 2021, i compared HATE's final form to a "Sword Fighter Ganondorf". At the time, when i said that, what i meant was the Ganondorf from the Smash Bros series (the one that everyone remembers for his "DORIYAH"), then 2023 came and TOTK was released and well... the final boss...
If camila did not stole/trace animations from animes, stay out from disgusting stuff and controversies, even though the series is kinda cringe when some ope character such as asriel become weaker and did not activate his god mode making him die early, or gaster is only op when he's introduced for the first time etc, i don't really think glitchtale will receive more hate. It's just sad seeing people in ut become worse people or pred*t*r etc. Man this is just too bad.
Theres another thing I have a ton of issues with. 80% of all well-animated scenes (especially the 1st half of the Hate fight) were already shown in the trailer. The trailer was just perfect, but seeing almost all scenes repeat, and the overall story of the episode being almost non existent, the episode felt very underwhelming, with the best part of the episode (the animation) already being exposed a lot in the trailer

3:19 season one chara gains the hate because it’s explained that when frisk killed monsters he got hate from the monster from being killed and frisk threw the hate off their soul onto chara during season one and it’s explained at the end of season one chara says "do you know where that hate ended up right into me"

Also they made toriel into this "apathetic towards her husband, and a full on coward" when in reality, what asgore did was screwed up, both were in the wrong here, asgore being a empty husk of a killing machine while toriel just became a mess...

Chara WAS a spiteful person in Undertale. They weren't a bad creepy monster murderer kid who killed the entire underground, but they weren't the best person. As we see from Asriel's dialouge and their interactions in the true lab tapes, Chara's morality and motivations for freeing the monsters had always been a little bit skeptical. It's one of the things I LOVE about the character and why I hate both depecrions of them from either side of the spectrum.

GREAT VIDEO!! These are pretty much my thoughts exactly and it's nice to see someone else come to the same conclusion. Tho I will say I think you missed what was going on with Chara and Asriel ever so slightly.
I wish he did, but Chara didn't ever take up the main character spot. He was a supporting character for Asriel's arc, which was about his bottled emotions. Hope's intention was to showcase how much stronger Asriel is now that he's no longer doing that.
This is one of my biggest gripes with Glitchtale because Asriel's arc is probably the deepest and most relatable arc and, like a lot of things in Glitchtale, it is not made clear whatsoever. I don't think I've seen a single person understand what went on with him.
Gaster for example WAS made clear. He had that buildup scene where he flashbacked to everything that built to that moment. IF THEY JUST GAVE ASRIEL A MOMENT LIKE THAT BEFORE HE TRANSFORMED, Hope would've been MILES better. But yeah. Those are my thoughts.
I'm actually working on a small thing called "Glitchtale Season 2.5" where I go in and try to put a few things that were missing front and center. And I also give Chara that big arc they were missing. From what you were saying, I think you'd love it.

So heres my opinion on glitchtale s2 and how it should have been if camila didnt mess up towards the end it
how could it have been? Well first of all frisk being erased is the biggest mistake in the series since it leaves many plotholes like is S1 now uncannon and was it just like a good chara blocked the hit all the way back in s1 ep1 "megalomaniac" and shit, and frisk was the only character with good char development except undyne and papyrus
the next issue is that asriel didnt get enough character development, actually nearly no one but frisk papyrus and undyne did, but all 3 went to waste with frisk being erased, papyrus being irrelevant and undyne being unused in the fight against hate, but heres how it could have been fixed
First of all in my opinion the whole frisk glitching due to breaking the reset was a bad idea, and when frisk got stuck against asriel he should have used the determination syringes that were used to make the amalgamations to get a power boost to beat the fear corrupted asriel
Next, the duel between bete and the skele 3 should have been delayed, and asriel should have been gotten more character development and prepare for the final fight
And finally after Gaster kills bete and faints, when hate finally got shown i think that was the perfect moment for papyrus to snap trying to protect gaster from hate and 1v1 the hate untill frisk and asriel would come to the rescue, also the hate character could have been way better, it was unoriginal since it was just S1 endings chara but worse and had no powers kinda like a whole ass rework for hate
And thats how Glitchtale could have been saved in my opinion
