some extra background on "-P" names: it was originally a meme from Idolmaster fandom, many people in that fandom would nickname themself with -P in their username because in the Idolmaster games the player character is a producer for idols since vocaloid and idolmaster started getting popular around the same time, they had a lot of common fans so habits of both fandoms were often shared as a result, a lot of fans would usually jokingly give P names to vocaloid producers in comment sections under their songs for fun and a lot of them often end up accepting the nickname the comment section gives to them, and adding it to their own username
@@alisonnyanyannya I wouldn't say so, since there are examples of Vocaloid producers from that era who gave themselves their own P names like futanari-p (Oster project) and nashimoto-p
@@alisonnyanyannya that is not true, but is a common misconception among newer fans, usually because new fans often mistake being a vocaloid producer for a professional career, so they imagine there being more importance to certain aspects, when in reality vocaloid producers are just fellow vocaloid fans creating cool content with vocaloids its all for fun in the end
I'm honestly glad the vocaloid fandom is having a huge wave of new fans, I've been into vocaloid for many years now and it makes me happy being able to talk about it more openly with people nowadays :'-)

It wasn't just "okay", past me, it was the perfect decision. I have the rest of my life to work and study, but the excitement, curiosity and joy that I felt at that time when you did the things you did isn't something I can just experience "later". this video is short, helpful and informative, i didn't knew what "-p", "pv" and "append" meant before watching this video so thank you so much for helping me lol :')
New Vocaloid fan here, was introduced to the fandom fully during the pandemic since I was bored and I came across Nulut / Lanndo (Nyuri) who instantly became on of my favourite artists! His music really kick-started my deep dive into Vocaloid as a genre and is still at my #1 artist right now, my favourite songs from him are Empty Prayer, Vivid A and Terminal. ^^
Adding more information about Appends: After Rin/Len's Append release, they dropped the Append name all together. KAITO/MEIKO was originally going to have a V2 but got moved to V3 and called it V3 instead of Append. Internet.Co ltd did a similar thing. They called it Extend. GUMI was the first one to have an "extend" voicebank. Gakupo got given the extend name but they dropped it soon after and just named them "NAME" V4 or V3.
Additional info on the Character Item thing. Because of a little meme that was happening on the japanese internet at the time, a GIF of Bleach of Orihime swinging a leek, this was added on the original Ievan Polka PV just for the joke. But people really liked the leek (maybe because it reminds Miku's hair) and then started the Character Item's War lololol what I REALLY like about it though is that Crypton/Sega also adopted the items of each character as almost canon. They always appear on the games on the items you can buy to decorate the Vocaloid's rooms (like a Kaito's 5th birthday ice cream cake, or Sake for Meiko, a LOT of leeks for Miku and some others lolol I think if's really cute and meant that they cared for the fandom)
I think it would be good if there was a part two, because there are still a lot of important terms, such as nico nico douga, a video sharing platform popular with vocaloid that has a tier list for the most trendy vocaloid songs, also probably where utattemita and odottemita originated

talkloid is not only making a vocaloid speak, but a separate program that has voicebanks similar to the vocaloid program but operating differently, specifically for fluid sentences and not melodical sentences (edit: it's named voiceroid though). yukari has bot a vocaloid and voiceloid vb and in "there's supposedly a cheat code for happiness" is a great example of both of them being used
extra background on mikudayo: mikudayo is not just a costume of a human-sized nendoroid of hatsune miku! when the mikudayo costume was designed, it looked slightly off from miku (as you can see), failing to accurately capture the miku nendo's cute proportions and winding up uncanny, and it scared young children. so it was jokingly given the name "mikudayo," which means like "i AM miku." it's now just a big inside joke
