Them creating the street, houses, and the landscape in a studio is so fascinating. Very talented crew to pull that off
They did the same for Scream. Or at least Scream 3 showed it as a set in the movie. Reminded me a lot of it actually.
At least Rod Zombie used real houses and real streets in his remakes....

As soon as he just dies in that house, I knew that the entire rest of the movie besides the very end was a complete joke and didn't matter at all. Easily in the bottom three halloween films ive seen (including all the cult of thorn, rob zombie, and other garbage films)

This was more entertaining than the movie.
I will say the final fight was great, the way Laurie held Michael's hand as she delicately slit his wrist and told him 'its okay' as he bled out, defiant to the end.
Man this movie couldve been so much better. I honestly would be okay if the next one was a continuation of Halloween Kills. Forget this one existed and make an actual good final Halloween movie for this timeline. I'll start with one of my ideas, just a little one. But maybe put Michael Myers in the movie for more than two seconds.

@@donovanvanert3713 I don't mind the ending of Halloween Emds with Laurie killing him, just that it doesnt feel as satisfying because he was a slow old man that killed like two people earlier in the movie. They should never of made Corey the main focus. Should've kept it on Laurie vs Michael the whole time. Because thats exactly what the trilogy had been leading to and all the trailers have said. Its a bate and switch.

@Chris Ritenour If I was them, I would spend $1 mil on some reshoots, even if it's to add more Michael and re-edit the film in places. Because this one is so bad it makes watching Kills pointless, unless you want to leave it as Michael winning lol

@@Ryley280 The difference is that they kept showing you a glimpse like he was a shark circling his prey. They kept the dread and suspense up...they did not show an old dithering man who got his ass beat twice in a film.
Nor did they build someone up to be able to be shot multiple times/stabbed multiple times/and crowd beat beaten, only to shrug it off, yet a throat slit can do the job.
15...maybe 20% of the film I can live with, but the other 80% was Halloween 8 levels of badness.

I truly hope they release an Extended cut of Ends bc there are so many scenes that were shown in the trailer that wasn’t in the movie. I would’ve loved to had seen the scene where it shows Corey killing his mom and she uses the pillow to shield herself and the feathers goes flying everywhere, like all we got in the movie was Corey’s mom looking back at him screaming then a few minutes later it cuts to her dead body when Allyson went up to his house to see if he was there. Like there were so many scenes that they showed in the trailer that I would’ve loved to had seen.
I am 80% certain that there is an extended scene coming, in the zavvi 4K blu ray they said it is extended scenes and deleted scenes

That movie was a dumpster 🔥 with dumpster juice. It was so horrible it made my head hurt.
The one I am still mad about is from the trailer in Scream 4. The scene where Ghostface stabs Gail in the barn....in the trailer right before he brings the knife down she says "Do it if you have the balls". Then that line is not in the movie or the deleted scenes or anything. I'm still legit mad about it after all these years!

HOT TAKE: It would’ve been epic to have Lindsay save Laurie at the end instead of Allyson. I don’t care if she didn’t have a reason being there, they were the only two original survivors. It would’ve came full circle with Laurie saving the kids in ‘78.

This “final” movie was anything but a love story to the fans or Laurie and Michael.
I enjoyed 2018 and kills, did they have flaws yes but they seemed to have truly captured the essence of the original Halloween and its characters. They captured the eerie and brutal nature that is Michael Myers and expanded on the effects of those terrifying encounters not just the people directly involved but the community as well. Something not really done previously to this magnitude. Ends feel as if they completely forgot what they established and created in the previous films and what made this trilogy so appealing. I always felt the original sequels were lacking because it was different writers and directors for each movie that made each installment completely unconnected. Ends gave me that same feeling. I truly had hoped these films to be the best in the franchise as the writers were the same and could see a full movie arc through start to finish and avoid each movie being someone else ideas or visions with each film. Don’t get me wrong there were cool aspects of this movie that were cool and well done, but it felt like they abandoned major plots of the trilogy in this movie making it feel lack luster and incomplete.
There were bits in this taken from the Kills behind the scenes. So I think they were talking about Kills as that part was on the Kills DVD.
I don’t even think you knew what you were doing Jamie Lee Curtis. I wish I can re do this movie myself and give it a proper send off

There were parts I hated but all in all I loved it, the trilogy explored more of the town and its community than ever before. To me the ending felt complete, satisfying, and humble. The very final moments were just peaceful in my opinion, almost eerie, just like the first movie, and then they used such an amazing classic song for the credits that was used in the original 78 movie while Annie and Laurie smoked a joint in the car. When the song hits and the credits roll I felt every movie from 78 to now, where he’s been the peoples he’s touched, it replayed in my head, then you realize it’s goodbye. Shit was fire and I loved it. Very different kind of movie, and it felt absolute.
Exactly how I feel. It was an awesome take that no one saw coming. I didn’t really care for Michael Myers hiding out in the sewers. I thought that could’ve been a lot better. And more screen time with Myers would’ve been cool. But other than that it was really good. Me and my dad both enjoyed it

Classic bait and switch. I just want the friggin movie that was in the trailer! It looked so good like it was all about Laurie and Michael leading up to their final confrontation like the title suggests. Would've been a hell of an end for the trilogy.
It would’ve been epic to see Michael grab Laurie at the end and take her down with him. A perfect conclusion, saying goodbye to both.
Part of me thought that was gonna happen since she had already cheated Michael out of strangling her. The thought of that happening sounds hilarious though. Everyone's calm, waiting to see the body get dumped into the shredder, only for a hand to reach out and grabs an inflatable balloon Laurie down with him like Nancy's mom getting sucked through the front door window in Nightmare on Elm Street

I am 52 and have always loved HALLOWEEN & MICHAEL MYERS!! I was disappointed and was expecting more for the FINAL END! I don't regret watching it, just could of been way better.

My biggest problem with Ends is that Myers is in it for all of 10 min out of an 1hr and 50min. If they just wrote Corey flees to the sewers from the cops after he accidently killed the kid he would meet Myers and the main plot would start in 15 min, no stupid allyson romance or bullying over the bridge. Just horrible direction from 4 writers who had no clue how to start this movie off well.
Why did we waste building up the relationship between Laurie and Michael through 3 previous films (78', 18' & Kills), only for their relationship to be completely inconsequential until 10 minutes at the end of the FINAL film.
Why was Laurie so paranoid for 40 years when Michael was safely locked up on Smith's Grove, but then is perfectly fine buying a house, baking cakes and writing books after Michael killed 25+ people in 2018 including her own daughter & HE IS STILL ON THE LOOSE.

@@StockportTaker It is explained in Halloween Kills, It was never about Laurie vs Michael, in Halloween 2018 she was "prepared" for his return, but it was just a coincidence, in Halloween kills when Laurie is in the hospital she is alerting everyone because she thought he was coming for her, but Michael never goes to the hospital, also Laurie and Frank speaks about it, that he just wanted to come home. That's why Laurie stops chasing Michael and being prepared for him.

I wanted the world with her son to have been extended. H20 was my Halloween ends. They could have found a way to just rework the end so that she didn't gank him, but did it in her mind or something, then wound up in a resting place. It would have been epic. Because in that never should have been produced Resurrection movie, Laurie was in an asylum it made sense it was clean a concept but that movie was dumb. They could go with the broken asylum thing then do it properly to have ended it. The last 3 movies I just did not care for at all.
And that they were leaning towards would the audience care if Michael became more of a plague or possession to anyone who could get to that state of mind, well, look at movie 4. They seemed like they were trying that with the little girl, but they knew it made no sense so they backtracked and had her become a verbal mute with trauma rather then oh look, she could be a killer too. So... where the concept could work if you want to keep the franchise going, but you need to find a new audience because the OG crowd won't be about it if it isn't done right.
Even though lots of people hated this movie I personally loved it and the final showdown was beautiful

@@lordbrainsick Yes, exactly! This is what I don't understand about people who say this movie just "went over your head" if you didn't like it, it's NOT a cerebral film. Most of the issues people have come from actual problems with the writing and the movie as part of a trilogy, not just because it "wasn't another generic slasher". I thought 2018 was a good film because it was actually well executed, not JUST because Myers is killing people throughout the film. If that's all it took, then I wouldn't have disliked any of the other Halloween films besides Season of the Witch (which is still objectively not the worst Halloween movie).

I respect the fact you like this movie A D but I'm with whobitmyname. Was Mikey even in the movie for 15 minutes? Why was he able to have supernatural powers in Kills but now all of a sudden he's a old man? He must have got Covid.

This movie was beautifully written and the acting was superb ! There’s 3 multi verses and if you didn’t like this one well there’s another two 😅. I loved it and it is an homage to Halloween 3 which is a direction they wanted to go into. Also the 3 movies worked really well ❤ the rise and fall of Michael

You know out of all these behind the scenes videos, we still never got a clear picture of who Michael Myers looked like without the mask. For all we know it could've been a random hobo with Michael's mask on at the end.

Wow...that would actually be a viable, plausible explanation for Michael's underwhelming and unworthy demise, and I don't believe Laurie ever saw or got a clear look at his face in the previous films. Still, man, after this hodgepodge of a movie that went out with a sad whimper drowned out by the roar of a metal shredder, the franchise needs to take a looong break.
