Carlos Martinez No mate. She used a couple of old school hip hop drums on some of her songs. She is more jazz than anything - listen to her first album. She grew up listening to jazz, it runs in her blood. The chord progressions and structures of the songs in her debut album is fully jazz.

She did. Because ofc even Adele at the time as a club performer looked up to Amy. And she felt how we did listening to her music.
Amy Winehouse felt too much for her own good. It was both painful and mesmerizing to watch her onstage because of the brutal honesty in her performances. She wasn't contrived or rehearsed sounding. Her voice simply expressed true, raw emotion regardless of what note she hit. You can't teach that and very few have it. She was like an exposed nerve on stage and when she let it all go it burst out through her voice. That is what sets her, Janis Joplin, Billie Holiday etc.. apart from others. Unfortunately, it is also what killed them too soon. Addiction is only a symptom of a bigger problem. With unique, unforgetable voices like Winehouse, Joplin and Holiday it wasn't about polished tone perfection or what octave they hit. It was about the notes they hit that are not found on any musical scale.

Adele's voice is very well-made, Amy's was natural, she sang effortlessly and a magical thing came out, Adele is a spectacular singer and had Amy as her main influence, not to mention the fact that some songs by Adele that she uses some voice techniques to look like Amy, it's not even fair to make such a comparison to Amy can not be compared to anyone, she's unique.

Very similar registers but completly different styles, Amy was a truly jazz singer, and she shows it everytime she sing, doing scatting, improvising and putting all her soul and emotions in every note, Adele is more of the delicate and accurate classical singer, that never fails a note, but sometimes it cost you the emotional part of sing
i am a dj from Bahrain and i been listening to different voices of different singers as part of my job.. for the past 17 years. i have NEVER heard any who could stand out and mesmerize me like Amy Winehouse. she is the best .. i don't even know why would anyone compare this greatness to any other voice in the same field! Some singers have great voices, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Christina and even Ariana, but their voices are tamed. Hitting notes doesn't matter to voices like Amy's, Björk, PJ Harvey and Thom Yorke. That's why I love them!

Amy is more nuanced, she switched it up every time, as Tony Bennett said, she had that ability that the greats had, to improvise AS she performs. Adele is very very good but she sings it the same every time. I love both singers, but Amy touches you (well me anyway) in a deeper place, and it was exciting to see where she would take a song!

Nunca me canso de ouvir 'back to black' ,por exemplo, enquanto tenha que estar com um certo humor para ouvir '21' por exemplo.
