Thank you Adriene, for being just what I needed today. You saying about balancing postures, and not being able to hide in them. Really resonated with me today. I have a lot of trouble being myself, being true to who I am. I often end up putting on a mask of someone like me, but who isn't quite me. I'm trying not to do that so much anymore, but its hard at times. Your yoga practices really help me, you remind me who I really am, and you make me smile. So thank you so much Adriene for all that you do. I love you, and I love the yoga you've shown me, and the way of life you've taught me. See you again on the mat tomorrow. Namaste. 🙏🧡🦋
I did yoga for connection today and the breathing was perfect for me. Halfway through my dog started poke me with her huge plastc collar (she had big surgery two days ago) , I took her our, walked her aroung the house, she did nothing, we got back, the she kidnapped my head inside her collar and started licking my face, I started laughing and that was a treat for the day. Now I need a tiny nap, before going to do little bit of garden work💚🍂leaves from the Fall🌹cutting the roses🌞Namaste
Watching this video I can see how far you've come in your practice and inner journey, and even 10 years ago your foundations are so strong! Thank you Adriene 🙏
Thank you Adriene and your video makers. I am 62 and did a fair bit of yoga in my 20's and early 30's. I have just this week begun again attending a class twice a week and following along with your video's each morning. It is easing my moments of anxiety and depression. I thank you again and hope I can stick with it.
Thank you for saying "no toxic thoughts" at the end. I'm doing yoga mostly to improve my mental health and balance but I'm still a beginner. You snapped me out of my unhelpful negative thoughts.
I'm so glad Jasmine! Thank you! I love the Yoga Foundations series because we get to really break down each shape and remind ourselves that the possibilities are endless and the journey life long!
LOVe this humbling pose Centre Steady Grounding Allowing Accept what is Be in the process Namaste to all practising and May you find ease and balance within
Thank you so much for this! It’s so difficult to find absolute beginners breakdowns like this. I’ve been doing yoga off and on for years, but I’m quite heavy and get migraines. Some poses are just impossible for me because of my size and sometimes I can’t get the full pose without triggering a migraine. This is one of those poses... despite how “easy” it looks it’s one of the more challenging for me. I wish I’d known it could be modified right down to the toe on the ground. I would have been far more likely to maintain my yoga practice if I didn’t feel like I was “doing it wrong” or being slack taking a less stressful version of each pose. Thank you for not assuming everyone just knows the poses and has the requisite flexibility before we start. ❤️
I can recommend some poses for high blood pressure - forward fold are good, seated postures, bridge pose, etc- and of course everyone is different. I have been wanting to do a sequence for this as high blood pressure runs in my family. The new series "Embrace It" will include sequences with a theraputic approach. I will add this to the list, thank you! Stay tuned. xx
BUILD 🔥 | April 26, 2024 | Great way to ground myself again after a day of travelling yesterday! My balance was a bit off while doing tree pose during our yoga session at my work event, but today it was back on track! 🙏
Build🧱 - April 2024 I build balance and centring into my life. I love these foundations practices to really focus on a pose, to centre the mind and balance the body. Nothing much happens in them but i find them so grounding as i consciously move through the motions of a pose, accepting where i am at every stage and breathing love and light into my body💖. I love how, as Adriene says, with balancing poses it’s different every day. That’s one of the reasons that make them so fun! It’s like a mini roulette of balance😊. Vrksasana is also one of my favourite poses and i love revisiting it and seeing how far i come each time as i am now at the point where my next goal is to stand with my eyes closed! I’ve managed about a couple of seconds before i either have to reopen them or i become a swaying, falling tree but i can really feel the progress every time i return🌲🌴🌳 💚. Namaste yoga people and happy weekend🙏👏✨💓!! Xx
3rd time here, Build 26:04:24✅ Fun to do...even after such a hectic long day....I still got on and I felt so refreshed afterwards Thank you for adding this to Build. I am chuffed seeing how far I've come on this journey and blessings to see diff younger version of you Beautiful 🥰🤩🌷💐Adriene. Thank you for your lovely reminder of the tree pose attempt I'm happily modifying to, building strength with, yay!😅😆🥳🎉 no wobbles this time and really feels nice to see your heavenly dog Blue💙 again. Thank you Adriene, so grateful. Are we ready for May ✨Greet✨ practice? I am. Best wishes and a warm restful lovely Friday nite to all you build buddies..... No toxic thoughts, ok? Namaste☮️💜💜🙏🏾
This was so much fun to do again this boxing day and at bedtime, a 😅👌🏾yoga pose, so brilliant to add this practice and I found it very relaxing. I'm so appreciative of Wonder Day 26:12:23✅🎁🤗. hope all you lovelies had a nice boxing day. Namaste❤🙏🏾
sense of grounding which is what adriene prescribed WONDERful back to basic - root and grow namaste to all practising and may all find tree of life within
Thanks for adding this to ROOT Back to basic and pose / hips dont lie ... To allow be humble and have some fun Namaste to all practising and May you find the inner tree of steadiness
I just started yoga this week. I am so glad that I discovered your RUclips Channel. You really take your time to explain the poses; as a beginner, that is exactly what I need. THANK YOU!
Build, April 26, 2024. Today's practice was very wobble filled, but I appreciated testing my balance. I found strength in finding the lift and balance. 💙
ROOT 🌳 | April 28, 2023 | I don't know if I've done this foundations video before, but either way it was nice to spend some time deepening the tree pose. The concept of lifting up in the asanas has really helped improve my posture overall. Also great to see Blue make an appearance! 🙏
I never really had any balance and I tend to carry more weight on one side of my body, and I never really thought that I was good at it. Whenever I would take yoga classes I would dread doing the standing poses because I would be off balance and feel embarrassed. But your video really helped! I always thought I just did not have that strong of a core, but what you said about lengthening up the spine is what I have been missing I swear! all of a sudden I can balance THANK YOU!!
Most challenging of the "Foundations" so far! My foot only reaches about knee height, can't get to thigh and I'm wobbling quite a bit...be interesting to see my progress on this one. :) Thanks for these foundation videos, great for us who've never done ANY yoga before. Love seeing your dogs while you teach!
Thank you for posting this superb video of Vrksasana. I find this one of the most difficult poses and your methodical and calm demonstration is really helpful. Oddly, I find this pose easier in my pre-breakfast practice than in my weekly evening class. The hardest part for me is not to lose concentration- or rather not to see my thought get diverted to other things than the execution of the pose- as, when that happens, I inevitably lose my balance! Many thanks once again for sharing this instruction!
I feel like im in a simulation. I did tree pose on both sides!😮 my palms are sweating, which does not happen to me often😅 standing with my leg in the air was harder than tree. Also first time feeling that type of burn in my calfs😂 wow!🎉 Love June 27th 2023
This is SO helpful! Thank you for showing variations. I have both knee and balance issues, and it was encouraging to see the path forward to mastery. I'm so grateful for the joy you bring to the practice. Thanks!
I'm learning to do yoga with you during the mornings and to knock out one or two foundations of yoga to understand the "lingo" and poses better. This one is a favorite. Thank you!
Hi! I am focusing on the foundations in yoga while I am pregnant. I have been practicing since 2012 and am a mid-level to advanced yogi. I didn't know how much I would appreciate getting back to the basics in yoga due to the Baby. This easy practice was what I needed today.
Foundations of yoga, you are the bomb! For about six years, I've sucked at tree pose, and when I decided to go basic and check out this video, it made me light years better. Thanks, Adriene. .
Well, thank you as ever, Adriene. I have been a student of yours for about 2 years now spending on average 30 minutes a day with you but I've never done the foundation videos before; Interesting how they still can give new insights to the poses. I feel like you are a friend and even though I realise you can't possibly read all the comments that you must get I wanted to express my feelings and gratitude, all the way from sunny lockdown Cornwall, in the UK. (PS love the 2012 cute haircut)
Wow, I always struggled with this one but this tutorial just helped me nail it in one session! You brilliantly break down the elements needed to get to a pose.
Thank you for this helpful video! So good to see the pose broken down to master doing it correctly. A few compliments too! Love your yoga space, the shirt you’re wearing, and the introduction to your videos. Have a great day!
LOVE 💗 | June 27, 2023 | Part 1 - Today I was a tree outside on a lovely summer day, with a strong breeze challenging my balance but still standing tall and strong! 🙏
I have been told my other instructors how I've gotten better with my balance as well as with the ball and step. In the process of it all. I've noticed how. I'm doing tree pose more and more without any issues. When I poured me a big cup of water I had the cup in great freezer door filling up my cup and was able to slide my foot in and up to my inner thigh without any issues. I noticed the same thing tonight when talking to my tonight my arm lying on her bed and was able to do the same j had done it not thinking about it I won't do it with my shoes on but it's just usually when Im not wearing any or if I'm wearing flip-flops I'll take my foot our and will do it not even thinking about it This pose is helping make such a difference in my balance and posture and. Much easier it's become. Thank you so much for introducing this I love you for it and greatly appreciate you continuing to make such a difference in our every day life through your practices You help teach us so much and I greatly appreciate that. Thank you so much
Hello! I just started watching your videos yesterday and I started with yoga for complete beginners, but realized that I didn't understand how the poses worked, so I came to the foundations. I just wanted to say you are an excellent instructor and very funny. Also, your dog is super cute!
day 12/30 days of yoga brought me here. i'm beginner i wanted to learn this pose better. aaand i did it. my left foot is flat it's harder to find balance on my left foot but i did yaaay. thank you adriene love you so much
Wednesday, April 26th 2023 and I was a tree . My balance is getting better, this is good . Okay Benji , okay Adrienne , love you bunches , see ya tomorrow, namaste 🙏🏻😘🐶🥰💖☀️🦋🌈🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Used this for my "playtime" in day 25 of 30 Days of Yoga today. I can really feel my balance improving throughout the month! Thank you so much for putting all of this out there, Adriene. I am loving being able to learn yoga and build my own home practice with your guidance. :)
I decided to start doing yoga at home from RUclips videos and one of your videos was the first to come up. I am thankful for that. I started with a recent video and I am very impressed at how better of a yogi master you've become. I am saying that with no experience in yoga, just as a student. These videos are GOLD and extremely valuable. I also thought they were harder to find than your other playlists/videos. I think this stuff is so good that it would warrant a revisit. Although people might not come to your channel for the foundations of yoga, I think a lot of people will want to learn the foundations of yoga from you once they have participated in a few of your videos. That's what I did. I would bet good money that "Foundations of Yoga with Adriene V2" would bring in a massive amount of views for you over time, considering these ones don't seem to do as well as your recent videos.
I know it's late in the day but I just have to say so far this series has been so so helpful! Feel much more connected to my poses and general posture and it's been great for helping me see things differently and to approach them in more fruitful ways! Thanks Adriene!! You da bomb! ;)
Day 24 part 2 complete. I haven't quite gotten the hip flexibility to get my leg up to where I would like it without holding my foot to be so I decided to just hover my foot next to my standing leg where it wants to be because I am not going to press my foot against my knee where it wants to be. 12/24/2023
checking in again....I have been able to practice 6 days/week for a little over a month now. I would like to do 7 days/week however I’m a mom of 4, inevitably a kid activity seems to get in the way at least one day a week 🙄😜😆 Anyway....today I attempted this “tree pose” for the first time! Maybe I should have recorded myself and shared to give everyone a good LOL....I KNOW I looked absolutely ridiculous flailing around trying to stay balanced!! 🤣 Not to worry, though, as I have learned by doing the other videos....each day I “build” (one of Adrienne’s fav terms😉) and each pose feels more confident. I WILL master you, Tree Pose!! As always, thank you, YWA, for making these videos available! 😘 P.S. I have also been doing the first “fat burning” sequence daily for probably 2 weeks now...maybe I should share an update comment on that video.
Happy Restorative Sunday, I looove the tree pose and thankful to God that I am able to enjoy this pose. I particularly like to lift my arms high and spread them like branches, a total stretch. Jai Namaste 🙏🏽
I love this posture. I even do this when I'm sleeping but if course I'm laying down. I like all the tips. I really need to practice my balance and I can do this in the kitchen cooking or whenever I stand somewhere. Great tutorial. I am enjoying these foundations videos.
Either you got me on a good day (so true about not being able to hide in this pose)... OR I am going straight through your Foundations playlist and the Mountain pose video directly before really got me in that balanced place. Either way, I am a happy tree for the first time. Woohoo! THANK YOU!!
My right leg was way easier to balance with immediately, but with practice and calmness, my left leg is getting better. Thanks for teaching this great balancing posture!
Day 8 April 2024.... it is really recommended to watch all ur yoga foundation... I used to do this pose wrong... today I was able without a wall... thanks
I'm helping my mom with yoga and your videos have been so helpful. We have been doing several different exercises and some poses, but now I think I might try to get her to learn the mountain pose and helping her understand and me to the legs and feet. it is so difficult to focus on your legs and feet when you're having to move all your other body parts around.
Thank you Adriene. I love how you have matured in last 10 years. Lots of love to all versions of you.😄
Thank you Adriene, for being just what I needed today. You saying about balancing postures, and not being able to hide in them. Really resonated with me today. @TheClarkeh 🙏 thank you. Happy to be practicing with you and others around the world
I remember at one point tree pose seemed impossible now I'm so focused and doing the pose. Thanks very much Adriene. Love you. ❤️ ❤ Namaste.

I know it's late in the day but I just have to say so far this series has been so so helpful! Feel much more connected to my poses and general posture and it's been great for helping me see things differently and to approach them in more fruitful ways! Thanks Adriene!! You da bomb! ;)
Great instruction. she's a lovely teacher.
i find this pose hard to do with my pants on.. The foot just slides down with the fabric... so.. this is my pants-less pose xD
Rock it out J!
Thanks :-P
Now im mastering it, standing on my left leg, my right leg.. not as much :)
Thats what I found - not just me then!
Are you suggesting that Adriene should demonstrate it that way as well?
Day 24 part 2 complete. I haven't quite gotten the hip flexibility to get my leg up to where I would like it without holding my foot to be so I decided to just hover my foot next to my standing leg where it wants to be because I am not going to press my foot against my knee where it wants to be. 12/24/2023
Build day 26❤ thank you Adriene ❤
checking in again....I have been able to practice 6 days/week for a little over a month now. I would like to do 7 days/week however I’m a mom of 4, inevitably a kid activity seems to get in the way at least one day a week 🙄😜😆
Anyway....today I attempted this “tree pose” for the first time! Maybe I should have recorded myself and shared to give everyone a good LOL....I KNOW I looked absolutely ridiculous flailing around trying to stay balanced!! 🤣
Not to worry, though, as I have learned by doing the other videos....each day I “build” (one of Adrienne’s fav terms😉) and each pose feels more confident. I WILL master you, Tree Pose!!
As always, thank you, YWA, for making these videos available! 😘
P.S. I have also been doing the first “fat burning” sequence daily for probably 2 weeks now...maybe I should share an update comment on that video.
Fantastic video! Love the idea of actually trying to throw yourself off balance. Made an already cool pose even more fun!
Happy Restorative Sunday, I looove the tree pose and thankful to God that I am able to enjoy this pose. I particularly like to lift my arms high and spread them like branches, a total stretch. Jai Namaste 🙏🏽
Wonder Day 24 🙏

I love this posture. I even do this when I'm sleeping but if course I'm laying down. I like all the tips. I really need to practice my balance and I can do this in the kitchen cooking or whenever I stand somewhere. Great tutorial. I am enjoying these foundations videos.
better then any other leg workout. So thankful for this video. I think this will contribute a lot for improving my posture. :)
🌸🌸🌸 Namaste 😊🙏❤️
Was finally able to come into a proper tree pose and hold for 5 whole seconds!!! Not very long, I know, but it's progress
Love Day 27 🙏

Happy to see you here! I hope you feel like a gracious, majestic tree today❤
Either you got me on a good day (so true about not being able to hide in this pose)... OR I am going straight through your Foundations playlist and the Mountain pose video directly before really got me in that balanced place. Either way, I am a happy tree for the first time. Woohoo! THANK YOU!!
Oh dat tree pose. I’m like a tree 🌳 swaying in the 🌬 wind. I’ll be revisiting this lesson !

Adriene, you're such a great teacher! So informative! I am absolutely hooked on your videos!
My right leg was way easier to balance with immediately, but with practice and calmness, my left leg is getting better. Thanks for teaching this great balancing posture!
Blue is the star of this show.
Day 8 April 2024.... it is really recommended to watch all ur yoga foundation... I used to do this pose wrong... today I was able without a wall... thanks
Thankyou, Adriene xxx Merry Christmas Eve xx
Thank you, this was SO helpful! Excellent explanation. 🙂
While doing this practice I am watching the spring leaves emerge on the trees through the window🌿
❤❤❤❤ I love this one!!!
