Randy, while I have to admit that there have been a lot of laser shows, I have been more selective as of late and only choose lasers that have something special or different to offer. Hence this week's show. While it may be a "here he goes with another laser" moment, with so many options and brands out there (WeCreat, xTool, Longer, Wainlux, Otur, Creality etc) and so many different options (5watt, 10watt, 20watt, 30watt, 40watt, 2watt IR etc) for anyone who is in the market for a laser machine, having multiple brands and multiple machines on the show can be of real help to see the options and be able to compare machines to see which is best for them. I have turned down multiple requests for laser collaborations because they just didn't have anything special to offer or they were just another open framed laser with little to no features. By provided as much variety on laser shows as I can, I am also providing a service to those who are in the market to buy and hopefully I will be able to help them make an informed decision as to which machine is right for them. Thanks for tuning in this week. If you have any questions about the WeCreat Vision, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Kenny, Happy Easter. I expect you will be hiding lots of Easter Eggs for the Grandaughter. Have loads of fun.. Now, I have watched with great interest your videos (reviews, although not really a review, but more of your honest opinion) of Laser Engravers. I have been tempted to get into Laser Engravers for about a year and looked to you for guidance. I had setted on the X Tool S 1, but was put off by the over $3K US price (fully equipped unit with the air purifier). Outdoor exhaust is not an option for me. But, this WeCreat Vision for $1,900 US (including taxes and delivery is certainly more attractive. One of the very attractive features is the WiFi connectivity. I do not use a laptop to control my CNC. I can drag and drop from my office computer to the CNC and the WeCreate provides the same feature. My shop includes woodworking equipment with lots of dust, not a great environment for a computer. Considering an X Tool S 1 will cause me to buy a laptop at a minimum of about $200 more. The WeCreate is a much more budget friendly option for my situation. I had considered the Longer unit, but you cautioned against that. As a result, I have stayed on the sideline and waited for you to offer a better option. Is this it?

Jim, I have been very impressed with the WeCreat Vision. The functions that this little unit packs in are incredible. At the moment, I vent mine to the outside but I just received the WeCreat Fume Extractor and will be testing that this weekend to give my views on it during the show. This is one of the easiest lasers I have used to date and it works well. I am still a fan of Lightburn and prefer that software with my lasers but Lightburn and the WeCreat Vision don't play well together so I just make my patterns on Lightburn, export them to my desktop and then import them into the WeCreat app. It works well and I get the functionality that I want with the ease of use that I need. Is this the laser for you? Only you can answer that. But I have yet to see a 20 watt, fully enclosed laser, with built in camera, exhaust, lights, rotary, wifi connection and air assist for the price that WeCreat is selling it for. And with the Easter sale going on right now, it makes it even better. I hope this helps. You can always email me if you have other questions. Thanks for tuning in this week.

It's definitely an impressive unit Paul. The most user friendly laser I've used to date. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

I really like the access for attachments/options on this machine. I recently bought the longer 40 watt and am not impressed with the cable management. Maybe I too need nine machines...
I'm looking forward to seeing more on this laser.
    Thanks Kenny!

Cable management seems to be an issue for all manufacturers of open framed lasers. The newer, fully enclosed lasers are finally getting it right. Thanks for tuning in Dennis.

Good machine and I would love to have this but at the moment I am learning CNC . Also I got the scroll saw I was talking about but not yet unpacked because I am re organising my work shop which is taking me ages. I won't be un boxing it yet because I will spend time on it rather than get the re organising of my shop finished. I see the unpacked box where I am working and it encourages me to keep working on the re structuring job. I guess I will eventually buy a laser engraver, I am over buying cheap tools and now endevour to buy good quality stuff. I really love wood work but in watching someone a while ago he said you actually only do the wood work about twenty percent of the time you spend in the shop. good advice and I have found this to basically be true. Good vid Kenny very educational.

Glad that you liked it William. It's been a pretty impressive machine and I am looking forward to working with it more. You are probably right to get the organization done first. Work first, play after. Just makes sense. Thanks for tuning in and for the kind words on the show.

Looks like a well though out design, well apart from the access to the tray at the bottom.
It has a lot of great features, being fully enclosed, automatic gantry adjustment for height of the work piece, selection of power via a picture (brilliant idea)) ... but you are paying the price for it 👍

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  6 месяцев назад

In my experience Barry, everything has a price. If you pay for cheap tools, you will get cheap results and end up paying more in the end when you have to buy the tool twice. Laser machines are an expensive addition to any shop but the prices are coming down and the technologies and features are improving drastically. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

Wow a laser review for dummies 😂 I actually understood what was going on without scratching my head all the way through, this definitely is one for a beginner. Great tutorial Kenny keep it up.

I'm glad that I was able to present this show in a way that was understandable Troy. Lasers can be a confusing thing and with so many on the market and so many options, it's easy to get confused. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week.

Another great show and a wonderful introduction to a new concept diode laser. It certainly puts my xTool diode laser to shame. You are spot on with your comments on how self contained the unit is and that is definitely a reduction on wires and outlet needs. A game changer for sure.

The advancements and new technologies of these laser is developing faster than I can produce shows on them. The opened frame laser used to be all that was available and any fully enclosed, class 1 laser that was on the market was too expensive to even consider purchasing unless you had a business to make it worth while. That seems to be a thing of the past with companies producing fully enclosed, class 1 lasers for a fraction of what they used to cost. The fact that it also includes a rotary, air assist, camera, lighting and exhaust is just unbelievable. I truly am impressed with this unit. It's pretty darned slick. Thanks for tuning in this week.

It can be a pricey venture and depending on how often you use it, it may or may not be very cost effective. Thanks for tuning in Mark.

Hi Kenny, knew you would be doing this laser after seeing all the other people on RUclips pushing it😊 I find it strange that your router won’t do 2.4 ghz most are backwards compatible. Nice show looks like a good machine at the price point.

When I was offered to do the collaboration and checked out the features of the machine, I knew I had to check it out. It's a very impressive machine and there is a whole lot of bang for the buck. As for my wifi from my router......what can I say? It's a prima donna. Thanks for tuning in this week.

@@acutabove_woodworkings yes it is a nice machine for sure, thanks for reviewing. I would dig deeper into your modem though Kenny, as most are compatable with 2.4 and 5.0ghz

I have been impressed with this machine and its function so far Joseph. $1539 for a class one, fully enclosed 20watt engraver with the air assist and rotary is a great price when compared to other engravers. Thanks for tuning in to the show this week.
