3x Mitsubishi Central Atrium Elevators @ Al Ghurair Centre Phase 2, Deira, Dubai, UAE

The second phase of Al Ghurair Centre, completed in 2013 with the aim of staying competitive with a newer generation of shopping malls that opened in Dubai after 2000, nearly doubled the number of stores and added a hotel component as well as new parking. It consisted of two 20-floor towers, each housing a hotel and serviced apartments, and the new 7-story headquarters of Al Ghurair Investment above a 3-level extension of the existing mall and three floors of underground parking. The newly built section of the mall was arranged around two glass-domed atria called Central and Grand Atria respectively, each with water features and artificial palm trees in a similar manner to many of today's malls, and thus felt more wide-open and airy compared to the mall's original section.
The mall expansion had six passenger elevators, arranged in groups of three in each atrium, as well as two service elevators; all had been supplied by Mitsubishi as was the case with the original phase of the mall. This video features the bank of three passenger elevators at the Central Atrium, the one at the southern side of the second-phase structures. They were machine-room-less units that ran at an alright speed for six floors, and did not feel particularly busy nor overly crowded with the sufficient number of units. Their cabs had a more ornate design compared to the sole passenger elevator inside the original section, with laminated oak panels and faux sandstone and marble flooring. They had Mitsubishi's standard "universal design" fixture components, with barrel-shaped buttons and vertical LED floor indicator. The ride quality was very smooth and overall seemed to be well maintained.
