  • This is the 428-room hotel occupying the northern one of the two 22-floor towers built as part of Al Ghurair Centre's Phase 2 expansion. It opened as Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana, belonging to Rotana Hotels' alcohol-free Rayhaan chain, but was rebranded into the first Swissôtel in the UAE in 2018. Even after the brand conversion, the hotel does not serve alcohol within its premises to this day. Similar to many hotels located above a major shopping mall, it had its own lobby on the third floor above the retail floors so as to avoid hotel-related facilities from occupying valuable square footage as much as possible, while the front and rear entrances on the ground floor simply served as foyers that connected to the lobby via shuttle elevators. The lobby also had an all-day dining restaurant called Liwan, a Persian restaurant named Shayan (which was closed at the time of visit), and the Yasmine lobby lounge, as well as banquet halls. The fourth floor had back-of-house areas and mechanical rooms, and thus skipped by the passenger elevators. The fifth floor was where the hotel's spa and fitness center were located, as well as an outdoor pool on the northern roof of the mall. The rooftop garden between the hotel tower and the serviced apartments tower next door could also be accessed via this floor. Several rooms overlooking the pool were also on this floor as well. The remaining guest rooms were distributed between floors 6 through 20, with an executive lounge located on the 18th floor (which has not been operating since the pandemic, with the hotel simply issuing a food-and-beverage credit to those staying in executive-level rooms and suites). The top floor was a mechanical penthouse.
The hotel had five shuttle elevators linking the front entrance and main porte-cochere with the lobby, one luggage elevator at the front entrance, two shuttle elevators between the rear entrance facing the 1st-phase parking garage and the lobby, six elevators serving the guest rooms, three room service and one banquet service elevator. These had all been supplied by Mitsubishi, as was the case with the mall. This video features the bank of five shuttle elevators available at the front entrance at the west side of the hotel building. They provided access to the hotel lobby and health club reception on the 5th floor from the foyer and the top two parking levels. These were arranged in a semicircular manner that evoked a grand sense of arrival, with the luggage elevator located directly next to them. These belonged to the same machine-room-less model as the mall elevators, but ran slightly faster and had elongated floor indicator frames. Their cabs had walls covered with cherry wood panels, and floors finished with beige-colored marble. As with the mall elevators, they ran very smoothly, though the scratches on the doors of some cabs indicated that they were beginning to grow old.
