It's needed for the Pillarmen because the stone mask can't completely pierce their brains and unlock their full potential. Humans don't have that problem and thus the stone mask works fine on them. If Dio tried to use the stone the amount of sunlight being shot into him would blow his head off instantaneously. He could attempt to use the stone mask on his Stand, though, I don't think I've ever seen anyone explore that.

This also works with the assumption that the mask + red stone has the same effect on vampires as it does on the pillar men.

@@isabellev9576 I know this is 2 years later but I disagree requiem doesn’t give you what you need/want it just upgrades your stand to its peak as seen when the first time polnareff got chariot nicked with the arrow he still had the same ability as when he was dying so while the stand protected the arrow because he wanted to protect it the ability it self was unaffected. If you stab your self with the arrow however you get what you want/need seeing as kira’s ability is specifically for if you find his identity otherwise its useless

If you're talking about the idea of Pucci become ultimate lifeform Pucci in the video, it's based on the idea of DIO turning him into a vampire first, and then using the mask + red stone. This also works with the assumption that the mask + red stone has the same effect on vampires as it does on the pillar men.
A human can't become ultimate. The stone mask uses acupuncture on a brain to unlock its hidden potential. But the mask has not enough strength to break trough the pillar mans head, so they need the red stone.
-A human + their hidden potential= a vampire
-A pillar man + theur hidden potential=an ultimate being
a vampire/ultimate being have already used their hidden potential

No, because Dio is just a human with its hidden potential wich isn't hidden anymore. And such humans are called vampire, but in fact they are juste biological self accomplished humans.
A vampire doesn't have any biological potential to unlock anymore: his body is a his maximum, whereas a pillar man is like a basic human: his body does have a lot of potential. But because pillar mens body are in their basis form very strong, the unlock of their hidden potential does transform them in an even more powerfull being.

0:11- Simple, an agent of DIO would hear hidden information in the underworld market, infiltrate the Speedwagon foundation to find the Red Stone, find a stray Stone Mask made by Kars that wasn't found/destroyed by the Speedwagon Foundation/Joestars and present it as a way to withstand the sunlight by this subordinate. DIO would then test out the mask and become the Ultimate Life Form.
Honestly i think they would never find a reality where Jotaro was both the Ultimate Lifeform and was over-heaven. Thats just way too ludicrous and him even being Over Heaven is out of character for him. Such changes required to give him ultimate lifeform would probably result in him not being born at all.
