It’s Summer! Which, of course, means it’s time for my annual Phineas & Ferb video. And this time around we’re doing a deep dive into the world of Phineas And Ferb video games. There’s a lot more of these games than you might expect. Some you may have played, some you probably haven’t. And I’m going through them ALL.

I remember playing a lot of browser games - My favorite was one which was basically Portal without the portal gun. There were two different storylines which you could play separately: one where you played as Ferb and tried to get back home and one where you played as Perry trying to take down Doofenshirtz. 8-year-old me even found a way to get up to where Doofensmirtz was during the bossfight, which was obviously unintentional. Also, it's on Flashpoint and called "transport-inators of doooom". There was even a remake for the second dimension called "the dimension of doooom", apparently, according to Flashpoint.

I have a special place in my heart for Phineas and Ferb flash games. The *MANY* Perry platformers, other smaller games like Sno' problem, Gadget Golf, and Robot Riot (this one is very special to me, I truly have nostalgia for it) just to name a few, and Replay rush, the last one being a recreation of many of those flash games in HTML5 in a warioware style, and personally I loved it back then, it was basically a love letter to those flash games and honestly really shows that the devs liked making those games to put effort into recreating them for a whole new game engine.

These videos are great, simple transitions, voice actings, generally great...
Also glad the 2nd Dimension game comes out on top, similar to the movie which is exciting to watch. Now if the company really wanted to sell the movie "Candace Against the Universe" to a broader audience, maybe they should make a game out of it... 'cause only selling it on the new platform is not efficient

I distinctly remember that Disney XD's website actually had a handful of Flash games as well. Of them, I recall really having fun with their two Unity-based games, Transport-inators of DOOOOM and Dimension of DOOOOM. Of course, they have all the awkwardness you'd expect of a cheap browser-based game, but the people behind them really made the most of what little they had. Or, at least, they knew how to make the game feel exhilarating to a simple-minded child who played browser games a little too much.

I honestly agreed, I think my experience with this game was very similar to my experience with the Bakugan games and here is why:
With the Bakugan games (mostly with the first game being “Bakugan Battle Brawlers” which is based on the first series of the show) surprisingly the console version (which were the original XBox, Wii, and PlayStation 2 and 3 if I recall correctly) and the DS actually surprised me since I thought the DS version was gonna be bad compared to the console counterparts but honestly no it was actually really good! Yeah sure they had to change some things like making the brawl battles being touch screen mini games like 2nd Dimension but honestly it actually worked fine! (The only “mini game” I didn’t like was the one where you had to tap your screen with your bakugan’s typing like for example if your Bakugan is a subterra Bakugan then you had to tap its symbol) and of course like 2nd dimension you had none of the characters talk like in their console counterpart but honestly it’s not the worse thing for the game!

Now you might think Ride Again is boring and laggy, but once you find out you can clip through every wall in the game, it suddenly becomes the most interesting game out there. Plus there's some other insanely cool and unique glitches in the game, glitchhunting in it is one of my favourite things to do in any game ever, and it probably still isn't absolutely optimised. Fun fact:
there's actually 2 other games that as far as I can tell you can't play anymore that was on the official Disney Channel website. No, not the flash games, we all know every website with some kind of kids audience had flash games so I don't count those. No there were two games built on the Unity engine, yes, Unity back in I want to say 2013. There was one were Doctor Doofenshmirtz made a portal too some kind of weird evil warehouse while Phineas and Ferb made... Something? I don't remember, either way Phineas gets stuck in the evil cartoon backrooms and Ferb has to go save him in a action platformer style game.
What I love about it is you play each level in two parts, one as Parry and one as Ferb and essentially you're undoing the work you did as the other character to compete your mission. Even as a kid I remember thinking the idea was too good to be original, I mean one of the flash games on the Disney site I played was basically a reskin of Joust. But I'll never know. Other than that nothing special.
There was also another Unity game that came out after the movie, and uh... I remember shooting the robots, liking the textures and art style, falling into lava because windows XP laptops are not good for platforming games, getting confused with a puzzle, and wondering why my reward for beating the game was being able to play it again except second dimension Ferb that now looks like a T-1000. No, I'm not making that last one up, you can't play as second dimension Ferb until you beat the game but for some reason his skin was completely silver and I never understood why, all I knew is that's where I drew the line. I really don't remember what was going on in that one, even for a ADD kid that was struck in New Mexico that felt like a drug trip.
If anyone can find them and or tell me where to download them again, please let me know.

I wound up first playing Phineas and Ferb Ride Again on my DSi and personally really enjoyed it. The 3d platforming was a lot of fun and I lowkey loved using Phineas's jet pack to "break" the game by hovering outside the usual transitional parameters and collecting things without even needing the last potential power-up for the jet pack before actually getting it. I also didn't have to play Candace's little Pac-Man minigame all that much beyond the first try. Honestly, that whole thing was just a punishment lap for messing up in the main campaign one too many times and there was no real penalty for getting caught beyond coming back to a low tolerance meter on the upper screen; an easy fix as long as you could find a bird's nest with something to calm Candace down (those things were limited tho) or just going back to the backyard (tedious, but infinite).

It was also fully 3d and pretty beefy, even with a Doof boss at the end

Fun fact the Phineas and Perry figures for Disney infinity are some of the more rarer characters, also magician mickey1.0 too, and I own all of them.
Phineas, Perry, and magician Mickey 1.0 are the three rarest characters for 1.0 (not including the clear edition version of the characters, which I don't count because they don't change any gameplay)

10:46 this type of thing is suprizingly common among ds ports of console games, most notably, the ben 10 series of games(exept the last one) all had ds ports, and the last two had 3ds ports, and they're all fundamentally different games than their console brethren, who were very slightly different from, if not the exact same as, eachother.
