so fucking glad i got this masterpiece recommended to me again. it's been a long time since i first listened to it, different thoughts, different visions, and i lost a few people important to me in the way too. i really hope this letter finds me again, in good or bad times, doesn't matter.
will definitely be doing more Radiohead covers in the future. i'll try to pick some of their less popular songs (though i might cave in on some of the big bangers if i feel like it). as for this style specifically, it'll depend on the song. will definitely return to it but i also want to experiment with different things (like proper vocals). i could see this aesthetic fitting very well for a Pulk/Pull cover, however;
almost all the synths used are just the default Cakewalk TTS ones with slight tweaks. the "main" synth playing chords throughout the start is a saw synth with high character (+36) and a slightly lower cutoff (-20) put through a bitcrusher with the dry output completely muted so only the crush comes through. it plays the lower notes of the chords while two synth organs panned left and right (specifically "Organ 4") play the higher notes. all of the chord instruments have high decay so that the notes stick at the same intensity as they're being held. during the chorus, a reverbed puff organ with low cutoff plays some background fluff. once the second verse hits, a similar square synth without any bitcrush replaces the old one and is joined by a reverbed synth choir to give a sense of release and/or relief and/or openness and/or grandiosity. the choir has a very abrupt attack/release to fit in with the synths and to imitate the choir used in some OKC tracks. overall, though, i'd say the bitcrusher with dry output muted & the high decay sells the tone overall as it gives a sustained harsh digital-y sound.
for the voice itself, i just used an online text-to-speech site ( lingojam.com/MicrosoftSamOnline ) before cutting and stretching the audio however it needed to be. i then used this little hacky plugin called GSnap ( www.kvraudio.com/product/gsnap-by-gvst ) to get the notes in the right places (definitely not top-of-the-line, but it resulted in this little "glitchy" effect so i kept it). not exactly an ideal setup, but i think the messiness adds to it.
Very fun cover, I am very fond of the Modbear drinking red wine, taking sleeping pills, and (dare i assume) watching sad films

yes give me all the nerdy underground radiohead recommendations
This is actually beautifully heartbreaking, sounds like the last words of some dying robot, make more please!
Crazy how you were able to nail Amnesiac's sound even though it doesn't really have one
ehh i doesn't really sound like amnesiac but its a pretty fun take on mps
@@Blastkinsame, This sounds like if PilotRedSun and Porter Robinson collaborated to cover MPS on some Radiohead tribute album
this is beautiful, the beat kinda reminds me of Codex in the beginning
Fucking phenomenal. Stylistically so different yet familiar to the original, and fitting for the album as a whole. 10/10 description as well.
Thank for Beingawesom!
its actually insane how much i love this
i need more
Nightcore when
Great cover!
Cheap timbers fit really well into this arrangement.
This deserves more views. I hope the band sees it...
gorgeous
that bit of no surprises at the end ;-;
Sounds like Starfox
Is that No Surprises at the end?
Yes
Is it possible to get a cover of No Surprises? That little nod to it at the end made me realize how much I'd love a version of it in this style.
will you do more radiohead covers in this style? i love this

This is bonkers thank you
Hey, I love this! What synths / settings did you use to get that tone?
almost all the synths used are just the default Cakewalk TTS ones with slight tweaks.

Really great stuff!!
hey , this sounds so lovely , im wondering where that vocal plugin is from ?

@@beingawesom thank you so much !!! and for the imperfections , that's what makes it so beautiful
