    My childhood memories in the amygdala can be fetched fast riding the system 24/7. I had to increase my daily activities, just to get the brain to think curiously about something else, and it never stops. The energy is still there. Hang in there everyone! I want to listen more of Tamara ❤

      do you get the 0 to 60 anger? During my hypnotherapy training I learned a bit about rewiring neural pathways, What should be a pathway, gets turned into a super highway, that's why we have no brakes sometimes.

    I truly tha k you for your videos..to be able and reach out to those who aren't always able to get out of their homes, beds, away from their abuser, and live in rural areas where there are so few care workers who specialize in area. Bless you!

    High ACE scores and physiological disease from toxic stress also play a huge role in the lives of those suffering from Complex PTSD.

    I think the fact we have problems with executive functioning can be midiagnosed with ADHD, when in fact we have complex trauma. I can relate to alot to the problems that ADHD people have.

      Very true. I agree. There is research that suggests that ADHD is often a misdiagnosed as PTSD and vice versa. Differential diagnosis requires a skilled clinician who understands the basic differences.

      I have massive levels of disassociation from dv in the home as a child. I also have adhd. I am not a doctor this is just my opinion but childhood trauma can cause adhd symptoms to the point that for all intents and purposes you have adhd. In this case the mind is leaving the present to avoid fully experiencing what is happening.

    Hi Tamara I love your videos and I enjoy listening to your talks while I'm drawing or playing video games, they're very helpful in conjunction between my sessions.
    I'm an animator by trade and i know you aren't a media commentary channel but I've had this on my mind a lot lately as it pertains to my industry. I'm not sure if youve been watching some of the new Disney/Pixar flicks but if so I'd love to know your thoughts on their themes of intergenerational trauma. Specifically the angle that all these films resolve with the child/grandchild protagonist reaching through to their emotionally immature parent or grandparent, and the toxic family member APOLOGIZES. Do you feel these stories are positive and helpful, or do you think they are an embodiment of healing fantasies and giving folks false hope for their own toxic families?

    The compassion fatigue from being caregiver at my expense. So bad. It was intentional and ignored when i showed the information about burnout before the fatigue and the caregiver stress related deaths often before the patient they care for. Ignored and overburdened,

    Is DID automatically C-PTSD? Maybe not always active because of healing and treatment but it seems if you have DID things have to be pretty complicated to unpack?

    • @TherapistTamaraHill
      @TherapistTamaraHill  Год назад +3

      To answer the first question, no. But it can co-exist. For example, let's say that you grew up in a very abusive household and now, at the age of 27, you are realizing that you were severely abused. You may be considered CPTSD by your therapist. You then open up and tell her that you have always felt different parts of you act out different roles. Upon further investigation, your therapist diagnoses you with DID. So now you have two disorders.
      It can be complicated. Hope this makes sense!

    I’ve cut off one sister and recently my other for lack of respect and talking bad about me with ex friends and mutual friends. Looks like my mom is next. I currently live with one of my sisters and mom until august. They’re moving out of state and I don’t think I’ll see my baby nephew again bc we’re not seeing eye to eye and betrayal. I really need your help

    @40yoa, hx of nurse & a list of alphabet diagnoses, including suicidal attempts & thoughts & benzodiazepines use of 10+ years.
    I'll stop there and hope and pray to make it long enough for there to be a true CURE. As there is no simple answer and process to always completely overcome CPTSD, I do believe someday we will have a cure. Blessed to all.

    This from a lifetime of trauma and grooming. And a caregiver for Parkinson's narcissist. Since 2019 nobody believes me, I'm invalidated and i can't get away from sources of trauma to a safe place. Or find a doctor that accepts my insurance or taking new patients.
