  • We attended a Fisker Ocean consumer drive opportunity to see what all the fuss is about. Famous tech reviewer called it "The Worst Car I've Ever Reviewed," and we wanted to find out what, exactly, is the problem(s).

The battery is 113kw/h but only 107 is actually usable. That sunroof opens at least another 10-12” more than you initially opened it during the orientation with the Fisker rep. Have had my FOO since Nov 2023 and now have 5100 miles including multiple trips from Seattle to Portland (and Salem), to Wenatchee (100 mikes each way over 2 mountain passes of 3k and 4k elevation) and countless drives around Puget Sound area. I love the car and pray it finds a legit new owner who will continue to support it and by some miracle, roll out features we were promised but have not yet received (independent doggie window operation/Pet Mode, Torque Vectoring, Full ADAS w/Lidar, etc).
    Fun fun car to drive.

Thanks for the video. I really liked it because it simulates how a consumer may experience the car at a dealer. I can't imagine anyone considering the Ocean would have been been more interested in doing so after interacting with this salesperson. The dealer sales model will not work unless the sales people have passion about EVs and this car in particular. This sales guy, whom you treated graciously, was shockingly uniformed on all fronts. Fisker HQ should watch and learn from your video!

I guess the hardball question you could have asked was “I thought all the Ones were sold out…why is this still knocking about 1 year after launch”? I happen to like the car and test drove one last October. It’s not as bad… it’s worse. The design is great, has good features. But you’re not buys a book to keep on shelf. With $75k price tag, you expect reliability, service and comfort.
Well, my experience was far from it all. For the few months that I’ve had the car, it had numerous errors, problems, safety warnings, dysfunctional vents. The battery looses power very fast. Not doing anything with the car, I have to charge it every 10 days, else the charge goes to zero and even the 12v battery dies.
There is no service. You’re lucky to get response back for the tickets you open. Anyways, at that price tag, I’d buy a Mercedes EQE, with reliable service that I can trust.
