I've been wanting to do Infernum as my next playthrough since I haven't touched a single boss with the difficulty, and this video really solidifies why I want to. The entire thing from start to finish is high skill high octane gameplay. Every one of my neurons are going to be firing and it'll be a pure dopamine injection from start to finish. The OG calamitas song is always a pure banger. The whole "end of the world" vibe it gives is incredible. Every final boss fight should have this kind of feel.
Ark of the Cosmos feels more viable than the Exoblade for SCal for me, since Exoblade excels in True Melee (especially like the Terratomere), and AotC being for ranged, with parries mainly for True Melee damage when you can
Your videos inspired me to give Infernum another try after I couldn't beat DoG on my first playthrough. I started back from the very beginning, I was hoping I could look past the issues but sadly on the second time all the mod's issues just became even clearer to me. Ultimately Infernum suffers from direct contradictions in their boss-design philosophy. Either the reworked fights fail to change the original enough and just end up feeling like "X Boss but harder", which is a no go for a mod that prides itself on massive boss reworks. On the other hand, there were some bosses that completely change everything about the original fight (example would be Skeleton) and are left feeling like a completely different fights, which can lead to greatness as the Infernum Team was not bound to set aspects in the boss' design and could make something completely new. Those were usually the better fights in my oppinion. But none of this helps when the core principle of "Fun over Challange" is disregarded. The thing that made the original mod so great was that it was sometimes hard, yes, but the bosses presented fun challanges that push oneself to complete them no matter how long it takes and leave one statisfied in the end. In Infernum the challange aspect is often so exaggerated that struggling to overcome it loses the statisfaction, especially when huge difficulty spikes come and go. Something Calamity suffers from is "careless" boss design, which Infernum had the perfect opportunity to fix, and in some cases they did. Though in others it seems they only amplified the problems. Instead of explaining what I mean by that I'm just gonna describe an example. The Wall of Flesh in Infernum is super easy and boring for the most part. All of it's whole 2 attacks can easilly be dodged by moving up or down diagonally. But instead of maybe adding an attack that periodically breaks the pattern, they made it completely change it's attacks after it drops below half health to spam about 20 laser walls in quick succession. These come out so quick and with inconsistent placement of gaps that you pretty much just have to get lucky to dodge everything with Pre HM's limited movement options. Sometimes I go from full health to dying from one of these cycles, or all the lasers completely miss me and I don't even have to move. This just fuels the frustration even more and leaves me just feeling like I wasted my time afterwards instead of feeling statisfied. This is an extreme example but a LOT of fights here have a similar problem: Attacks or aspects that go against everything set up in a fight. If there is one thing I just have to give credit to is that this mod looks really, really good. The VFX and Shaders are a 10/10 and turn even the most bland fights in Calamity into Visual Spectacles. They leave me wondering how this was pulled off inside Terraria. And ultimately I'm not the one to tell what is and isn't enjoyable. My final verdict would have to be "Neat mod, just not for me."
Fair enough. I could never think that deeply into any mod, I happen to find the bosses fun, and I couldn't explain why. They are very beautiful, yes. Those boss fights are just unbelievable when it comes to looks. I hope you're able to get past DoG in your next playthrough. You pretty much have to learn his patterns in order to beat him, watch a nohit, or simply go with God mode and observe the fight for yourself and figure out patterns. You can also join the Infernum Discord server, many people who might be able to help you there.
Wall of Flesh is likely getting a complete rework in the next update. None of the Infernum devs like the fight either. Same for Profaned Guardians and Aquatic Scourge.

I want to try Calamity Infernum but I still haven't beaten the vanilla version yet because I'm still stuck on defeating the jungle Golem which I can hardly dodge its attacks due to its tight arena.

imo exoblade is pretty shitty tbh, it deals very little damage. The spine of thanatos is good, or the zenith would be the other better weapon. Nonetheless, it makes this even more of a hard boss fight since you have to survive for a longer period of time because you do less damage, so that being said, he is indeed a very talented player.
Ok, this is based on mutant, nah just kiddin' but is it just me or is this boss easier then mutant? mutant took me like 80 attempts, while with the right stuff, this took me 7.

infernum dog is extremely difficult, don't give up! maybe ask for tips from other players, I highly recommend joining the Infernum Discord server and asking for help there.

I used hero mod to cheat on a different server so I could fight the other last bosses and I gotta say, I am only worried about Yharon. In my first attempt, I did 30% of SCal HP and I did pretty well on Exo Mechs. Unlike Yharon which I did 3%
