Tbh plaguebringer is probably my no1. I much better with and greatly prefer the reaction test dodging over bullet hells, and this fight does it so well. Gave a lot of content in the sense that I was very willing to keep trying at the intended progression to eventually get the dub. The fight fits under my definition of challenging but fair moreso than other bosses, while I'd argue being the only seriously challenging bossfight in the mod without bullet hell components
I know that the adult eidolon wyrm is a miniboss, but hell it is executed so well, I know the boss may not be fun to some people but the way it does the way dungeon guardian scares you first time is so good. I remember when I first encountered it and it scared the hell outa me just like the dungeon guardian when I was little. But the piano start of the song being loud scared me and then getting one shot was just crazy to me. But what scared me the most is there was a bug in 1.3 where if I got killed I respawn and chill for a little then it just appears at spawn and kills all my npcs.
I severely disagree on your plaguebringer goliath take, IMO his fight is well balanced and pretty fun, the fight is pretty chaotic and his attacks are fast but they’re pretty fun to dodge and it feels amazing to predict his dashes, to me it is easily on top 5 best fights.
I fought Yharon earlier today, and theres 2 phases now. Yharon, and the Resplendent Phoenix version. Kinda good, i really enjoyed the boss, but i was definitely underprepared lol
When I fought Supreme Calamitas for the first time, I was using the Catalyst addon endgame armor. The meteor particles around the armor really lagged my any. I died a lot because of it. Honestly, that's more of a computer thing than a game thing. I have a budget PC right now, but the boss fight wasn't bad at all once I figured out how to fix the problem.
All you need for this fight is a: -2 floors arena -Vampire Knives (I'm not kidding) -Asgard's Valor -Any good mobility (preferably the Terraspark boots upgrade) Just dodge his jump with the dash left and right, don't run away, fight like the arena is 50 blocks wide... Do not stop spamming the Knives at the hands, after the hands are broken the next phase is free, if you are low, you can get back lots of HP by wrecking the hell out of these cannons and the walls with the Knives. After the head pops off it's now your main target, you need it gone as soon as possible. After the head is gone this fight is free It's surprising how good the Knives are against him
@@easterntitan8308 Yes, and Ravager has never been a trouble for me. You can outheal him with Vampire Knives as long as you don't choke and have a brain functional enough to dodge the rockets From Revengence upwards SKELETRON is harder than Ravager considering the gear you are expected to have at their respective part in the progression
I think Giant Clam and Great Sand Shark are nice additions, and I don't mind going out of my way a bit to fight them. As for Adult Eidolon Wyrm I don't consider him a proper boss like many people do, but I think it's cool calamity has its own version of the dungeon guardian.
I truly wish Yharon would get his health halved and just heal up again, that break in the middle of the fight just feels so off That could also be combined into a fake death animation for the first time you get there, you think you won but the true fight is about to start
aquatic scourge and leviathan will always be the best ones for me. just for the fact that you can kill them in pre-hardmode. but i slightly prefer aquatic scourge because of his music. fighting him in pre-hardmode feels like a strategy battle lol (i'm also a sucker for his type of bullet hell lol)
I honestly really love Old Duke. The music is great, the design is pretty cool, and I think the fight itself isn't as bad as I hear other people say. Just kinda makes me sad how many people hate it lol
The Old Duke might be the best boss from calamity. It just doesn't let you play the game ordinary way and instead you have to play the game with its rules. It teaches you shouldn't just use dash every time boss dash instead use your mind.
Calamitas clone at 19 is crazy. One of my favorite bosses when I played through calamity the first time. I beat home first try and almost spawned him again bc of how fun it was
I don't agree with ANYTHING you've said about the Slime God. This is just two King Slimes, but with much more bs. There's nothing fun, it's just praying that you don't get cheap damaged and the minions don't spawn perfectly in your way. They also block the single most fun pre-hardmode weapon which would have been amazing AGAINST them... They deal too much damage, have too much HP, have cheap attacks and gatekeep the most fun weapon Leviathan would deserve the #2 spot only under 3 conditions: The Community drops more often; Leviathan's melee hitbox is fixed (you literally can't dash through the leviathan, it's just a gamble); these fu**ing fish are gone, they don't take knockback, they infinitely respawn, they deal way too much damage and prevent you from actually fighting the f-ing boss... I would put Exo Mechs at #2, this bossfight is kinda hard, but very rewarding, it sends you right into SCal, the boss makes you actually think because the last mech standing determines the loot. You get the best mount in the game, a lot of good weapons, a 3000% axe... and many more things that are very revelant DoG would get a placement at right under Exo Mechs under 1 condition: *REMOVE THE F%$ING DEFENCE* . That's ALL that is wrong with this boss, it has just enough HP, it deals just enough damage, it has just the right ammount of difficulty. It's JUST the defence that's wrong, it makes the fight take like 10 minutes with post-Polterghast gear, Infernum removed the defence and the fight takes 2 minutes if you're bad
I love astrum deus just because back in calamity 1.4 me and my friend were fighting him and he lagged out so hard that when we were both dead I had time to respawn and right after he became impervious to all damage which was hilarious in the moment
I dont like Astrum Deus because the Bossfight can and ALWAYS WILL Glitch, probably because of the two-worms mechanic, where one worm will stay alive after the second has been defeated and just sort of annoy you while roaming around the map...
One thing about polterghast is in the new update it auto-generates a sick arena. Also, I'm pretty sure you made no comment on the Brimstone elementals design on purpose Lol
pre-rework ceaseless void would've easily gotten lowest spot on my list. it was genuinely so infuriating and unfair and im happy to say the devs made him more bearable
If this were infernum rankings cryogen is at the bottom because of him just deciding to not take damage whenever he wants (I still don’t know how this invincibility works somebody please help me)
Fighting Yharon is pretty fine, but its sprite is just a roaring blob, chicken nugget and just poorly drawn creature which doesn't looks like a dragon at all
Devourer of gods is in my opinion a pretty boring fight. His attacks are pretty boring and there isn’t much to him. The devs focus way to much on his design and not the actual fight itself. I also feel that for the first-end progression boss in calamity mod, they could make him a bit harder and have far more interesting attacks to make the name “Devourer Of Gods” fit better. And I know this doesn’t matter all that much but his lore is very bad. He is basically Yharims executioner and that’s pretty boring for something that is called a “Devourer Of Gods” I think they should make him a main antagonist in calamity mod as an enemy to everyone as his main focus is to obtain more power for himself.
The only problem i have with plaguebringer is the message that appears near the end means nothing. I thought it activated a countdown where if you didnt kill it quick enough it will nuke you, instantly killing you.
I agree with a lot of your placements, or atleast I understand the reasoning, but putting slime god, my least favourite boss in the game, at 3rd is insane. Their only attacks are to chase you around the map with 118 and 130 contact damage while summoning flying slimes to knock you into them, and shooting a few easilly dodgable projectiles around themselves. The fight takes a long time due to having almost twice the health of wall of flesh, and my deaths to them always feel unfair, some attacks are hard, and sometimes impossible to dodge due to the amount of slimes it spawns, and they really like to teleport directly infront of you while you are traveling at max speed. I skip them every time lol
i'mma have to disagree with your placements of the astral infection bosses first of all, i personally found astrum aureus to be unfun and unfair, being hard mainly due to a lack of telegraphs for an already frequently-changing attack pattern, where the method for dealing with one of its main attacks leaves you open to have your health suddenly chunked by its other attack, without even *close* to enough time to properly react if you haven't memorised EVERY combination and the health values each combination is found at. combine this with how much damn damage it does, and you've got yourself a formula for a fight that i legitimately could not get anywhere in until after beating plaguebringer goliath (who i was, funnily enough, able to beat at the intended point in progression), as well as being a fight that many players seem to agree needs to be changed (though, admittedly, i haven't fought it in months, so it may potentially have been changed since the last time i fought it, idk) as for astrum deus, i found its fight to be quite fun as a final challenge before facing the moon lord, being a fast-paced fight that keeps you on your toes without getting unfair, as well as having a mechanic that adds some strategic depth to the fight
I liked the leviathan/anahita fight so much the first time but then I had to get the community… god fucking dammit was that a pain in the ass. It’s not fun to fight the same boss 20 times with gear which is like so much better than the gear you’re supposed to fight them with
Only reason i fought Astrum Deus was Deific Amulet and True Biome Blade. I did Plaguebringer Goliath, but i think it was hardest fight for me in the entire mod at it's stage of progression (just before or after golem). I would put DOG, Yharon and Providence higher, but overall i agree.
I'm really confused on the levaithan and anahita being so high up on the list, for me they're a large pushover and one of the most boring bossfights in the mod, the levaithan has one very simple bulletpattern. I can turn my brain off fighting them as it usually just becomes "fly up and down, and occasionally sideways until the music stops"
Devourer easily is #1 should of been the final boss instead ot witch, she was so underwhelming and i beat her first try and was left afterward thinking “was that really the final boss?” I was on deathmode btw. However doG took me many many many attempts and felt far more satisfying
Ever considered you might be fighting old duke too early my first beating him the fight was 2.5 minutes and that was revengeancce where he has 960k hp i did him post polterghast and loved the fight he is so much fun in revengeance i never did him in expert or normal tho

Fighting Perforators just doesn't do it for me because of how overwhelming good it's counterpart was for me.
Ravager really deserves the 25# place, especially post-Providence.
Also thanks for this good game/boss design class!
As a person who mains summoner and rouge, *plaugebringer goliath is something i need in order to progress*
"I don't enjoy digging out a dungeon arena for it"
city buster: 🗿
When I fought Supreme Calamitas for the first time, I was using the Catalyst addon endgame armor. The meteor particles around the armor really lagged my any. I died a lot because of it. Honestly, that's more of a computer thing than a game thing. I have a budget PC right now, but the boss fight wasn't bad at all once I figured out how to fix the problem.
i instantly liked when he put ravager at the bottom
-ranks DoG at 11
Understandable, the boss is really clunky, he's right
-aquatic scourge right after
I hate you
I have died to Ravager so many times and just when I had him on the ropes; he ran away. It honest to god boiled my blood.
All you need for this fight is a:
-2 floors arena
-Vampire Knives (I'm not kidding)
-Asgard's Valor
-Any good mobility (preferably the Terraspark boots upgrade)
Just dodge his jump with the dash left and right, don't run away, fight like the arena is 50 blocks wide... Do not stop spamming the Knives at the hands, after the hands are broken the next phase is free, if you are low, you can get back lots of HP by wrecking the hell out of these cannons and the walls with the Knives. After the head pops off it's now your main target, you need it gone as soon as possible. After the head is gone this fight is free
It's surprising how good the Knives are against him
@@WojtekXD-bx7jb Have you even played calamity?
@@easterntitan8308 Yes, and Ravager has never been a trouble for me. You can outheal him with Vampire Knives as long as you don't choke and have a brain functional enough to dodge the rockets
From Revengence upwards SKELETRON is harder than Ravager considering the gear you are expected to have at their respective part in the progression
I know you aren’t counting minibosses but what is your stance on Giant Clam, Great Sand Shark, and of course Adult Eidolon Wyrm?
I think Giant Clam and Great Sand Shark are nice additions, and I don't mind going out of my way a bit to fight them. As for Adult Eidolon Wyrm I don't consider him a proper boss like many people do, but I think it's cool calamity has its own version of the dungeon guardian.
@@sgoodwin6038 He is not from base Calamity but what do you think about Argus?
And also Astrageldon?
@@jcraftsito5069 haven’t played infernum, so wouldn’t know
@@jcraftsito5069 and Exodygen?
With the hive mind, you forgot to mention how it’s music literally slaps
I truly wish Yharon would get his health halved and just heal up again, that break in the middle of the fight just feels so off
That could also be combined into a fake death animation for the first time you get there, you think you won but the true fight is about to start
aquatic scourge and leviathan will always be the best ones for me. just for the fact that you can kill them in pre-hardmode. but i slightly prefer aquatic scourge because of his music. fighting him in pre-hardmode feels like a strategy battle lol (i'm also a sucker for his type of bullet hell lol)
im pretty sure aquatic scourge doesnt spawn until one mech boss is dead
@@ultrarad954 with the "sea food" item it spawns even in the early game
Exo mechs will always be #1 for me, just because of the music
Yharon is 1st for me, THE ENEMY ASCENDED BEYOND YOUR CONTROL OR WAS THAT JUST YOUR INTENTION
I lowkey watched this to hear the calamity themes in doses to see which ones to add to my playlist
15: "I'm bad so its bad" brilliant take
Well, different people find different bosses more difficult, and in my experience pbg has never felt very balanced
8:42 bro what its not split into two parts now?????? why bro
I honestly really love Old Duke.
The music is great, the design is pretty cool, and I think the fight itself isn't as bad as I hear other people say.
Just kinda makes me sad how many people hate it lol
last time I fought it was few months ago and I just summoned it on accident, never enjoyed it
The Old Duke might be the best boss from calamity. It just doesn't let you play the game ordinary way and instead you have to play the game with its rules. It teaches you shouldn't just use dash every time boss dash instead use your mind.
Yea, the movement-prediction just makes this fight boring
but why he have to have 700,000 health doe
You say that you wish the brimstone crag was cooler, it got an update and looks out of this world!
Opinions are opinions, and I'm not gonna argue or scream, but Ceaseless Void this high? Foul.
Calamitas clone at 19 is crazy. One of my favorite bosses when I played through calamity the first time. I beat home first try and almost spawned him again bc of how fun it was
her
Jorl always said that the Scal fight was ruined because of the exo mech drops and exo weapons making it too easy. No idea what that means though
Personally I think that Slime God is a really forgetable, this boss definetely doesn't feel like it's actually hard
I'm pretty sure the Ravanger is getting a Rehaul in the next calamity update. Correct me if I'm wrong
putting crab above plague bringer is a TRAVESTY WHAT THE FUCK LMAO
I don't agree with ANYTHING you've said about the Slime God. This is just two King Slimes, but with much more bs. There's nothing fun, it's just praying that you don't get cheap damaged and the minions don't spawn perfectly in your way. They also block the single most fun pre-hardmode weapon which would have been amazing AGAINST them... They deal too much damage, have too much HP, have cheap attacks and gatekeep the most fun weapon
Leviathan would deserve the #2 spot only under 3 conditions: The Community drops more often; Leviathan's melee hitbox is fixed (you literally can't dash through the leviathan, it's just a gamble); these fu**ing fish are gone, they don't take knockback, they infinitely respawn, they deal way too much damage and prevent you from actually fighting the f-ing boss...
I would put Exo Mechs at #2, this bossfight is kinda hard, but very rewarding, it sends you right into SCal, the boss makes you actually think because the last mech standing determines the loot. You get the best mount in the game, a lot of good weapons, a 3000% axe... and many more things that are very revelant
DoG would get a placement at right under Exo Mechs under 1 condition: *REMOVE THE F%$ING DEFENCE* .
I love astrum deus just because back in calamity 1.4 me and my friend were fighting him and he lagged out so hard that when we were both dead I had time to respawn and right after he became impervious to all damage which was hilarious in the moment
i miss the look of horror on my friends faces when yharon would go from 10% to 100%
I dont like Astrum Deus because the Bossfight can and ALWAYS WILL Glitch, probably because of the two-worms mechanic, where one worm will stay alive after the second has been defeated and just sort of annoy you while roaming around the map...
8:20 grasshopper, destroyer of worlds
One thing about polterghast is in the new update it auto-generates a sick arena.
Also, I'm pretty sure you made no comment on the Brimstone elementals design on purpose Lol
pre-rework ceaseless void would've easily gotten lowest spot on my list. it was genuinely so infuriating and unfair and im happy to say the devs made him more bearable
If this were infernum rankings cryogen is at the bottom because of him just deciding to not take damage whenever he wants
(I still don’t know how this invincibility works somebody please help me)
Fighting Yharon is pretty fine, but its sprite is just a roaring blob, chicken nugget and just poorly drawn creature which doesn't looks like a dragon at all
old duke takes me like 4 minutes tops idk what kind of gear you're using
*Sad Adult Eidolon Wyrm noises*
Sad great sand shark noises.
What do you think of the Abyss boss that drips the Terminus for boss rush?
100% agree it's music and lore carries it.
Idk why but I always thought of Plaguebringer as easy for where it is in progression
The only problem i have with plaguebringer is the message that appears near the end means nothing. I thought it activated a countdown where if you didnt kill it quick enough it will nuke you, instantly killing you.
Which is what they fixed in Infernum. You can bet I was screaming out of fear when Goliath sends a fucking nuclear warhead to your location.
I like the old Duke boss fight because the music suits the boss
My favourite boss its DoG, his music and his fight, its just incredile
i'mma have to disagree with your placements of the astral infection bosses
first of all, i personally found astrum aureus to be unfun and unfair, being hard mainly due to a lack of telegraphs for an already frequently-changing attack pattern, where the method for dealing with one of its main attacks leaves you open to have your health suddenly chunked by its other attack, without even *close* to enough time to properly react if you haven't memorised EVERY combination and the health values each combination is found at. combine this with how much damn damage it does, and you've got yourself a formula for a fight that i legitimately could not get anywhere in until after beating plaguebringer goliath (who i was, funnily enough, able to beat at the intended point in progression), as well as being a fight that many players seem to agree needs to be changed (though, admittedly, i haven't fought it in months, so it may potentially have been changed since the last time i fought it, idk)
as for astrum deus, i found its fight to be quite fun as a final challenge before facing the moon lord, being a fast-paced fight that keeps you on your toes without getting unfair, as well as having a mechanic that adds some strategic depth to the fight
I liked the leviathan/anahita fight so much the first time but then I had to get the community… god fucking dammit was that a pain in the ass. It’s not fun to fight the same boss 20 times with gear which is like so much better than the gear you’re supposed to fight them with
Interesting flamethrower only run in the background
only good thing about ravages is it’s amazing music
i have over 300 hours of expirience with calamity and i gotta stay quit or i would bust out laughing
Having just done infernum, calamitas feels robbed but thats purely due to how good that fight is in infernum
My man ranked leviathan that high wtf
bro really said it had a "sense of grandeur"
I remember summoner having such up weapons agains worm bosses pre-aquatic scourge that i killed it in mere seconds
“Now I know providence has a hate club”
Yes, me
Ceaseless void can piss off too
Only reason i fought Astrum Deus was Deific Amulet and True Biome Blade. I did Plaguebringer Goliath, but i think it was hardest fight for me in the entire mod at it's stage of progression (just before or after golem). I would put DOG, Yharon and Providence higher, but overall i agree.
i honestly put nighttime providence as my #1. I just love fighting it and its pretty as well
I'm really confused on the levaithan and anahita being so high up on the list, for me they're a large pushover and one of the most boring bossfights in the mod, the levaithan has one very simple bulletpattern. I can turn my brain off fighting them as it usually just becomes "fly up and down, and occasionally sideways until the music stops"
Anyone remember the days when calamitas was a crazy looking eye
I never fight ravager on tier I always wait until his post providence version for the bloodflare set
ceaseless void being over yharon is crazy
Devourer easily is #1 should of been the final boss instead ot witch, she was so underwhelming and i beat her first try and was left afterward thinking “was that really the final boss?” I was on deathmode btw. However doG took me many many many attempts and felt far more satisfying
Infernum makes every boss incredibly so to everyone seeing this, PLAY INFERNUM ITS HARD BUT SUPER FUN
Hey dude, ur content is great, I think just some good refinement and you’ll be up there with the best
"i wish the brimstone crag was more developed"
This realy did not age well
Ever considered you might be fighting old duke too early my first beating him the fight was 2.5 minutes and that was revengeancce where he has 960k hp i did him post polterghast and loved the fight he is so much fun in revengeance i never did him in expert or normal tho
how know
