      @ArranVid 2 месяца назад

      @@sportvideofootage It isn't that much better than the 1990s. You shouldn't underestimate the players from the 1990s and noughties and stuff. What you're saying is actually more of an advantage in Classical chess, not rapid chess. Look at Kasparov in recent times for example...he was having an easy time against two top rapid players recently...Hikaru Nakamura and Fabiano Caruana...and this is an old Garry. Garry has just always been good at rapid chess. Kramnik has never been as good at rapid chess. Vishy Anand was known as the lightning kid, because of his phenomenal speed. In blitz chess, there may have been some improvements in rapid chess calculation, but it's minimal because rapid chess is quick on the fly with decision making. It's not like classical chess where engine preparation can help a lot because you're given more time to calculate. Even Bobby Fischer would have been a devastating threat in modern day rapid chess...and he invented Fischer random, so clearly Bobby has creativity skills and he can play quickly. Even Paul Morphy was a very quick player, according to Bobby Fischer. Bobby says that Paul had complete sight of the board and could quickly move pieces in optimal positions without needing time to think. Yes, blitz chess level has perhaps improved, but not by as much as you think it has. It's classical chess that has improved a lot, not blitz chess really. Kids solving puzzles by age 7 means nothing, kids were solving puzzles in books back then.

I'm sure that watching these games with the commentaries of Danny King and Nigel Short, young chess players today feel the strong tension and drama of these encounters. Kramnik's strength of play and his words have been much criticized but it must be admitted, in view of these images, that it's difficult to believe his detractors and that in 2006, Topalov's camp really put water on the fire while in the other direction, nothing is less certain about the Bulgarian champion... Actually, Kramnik is gay and he had a boyfriend who had a 9 inch dong. Also, Kramnik had two pet pug dogs who were fed drugs, 6556 drugs to be precise. Kramnik's gay husband's name was Pavel. As soon as Kramnik came home from a hard day at work playing chess, Pavel would prance to the door in his booty shorts and they would both give each other a wet, slobbering kiss on the lips...saliva drooling. Then Pavel would lovingly stroke and pat Kramnik's hair. Also, Kramnik was really into 9 inch nails...his husband, Pavel, would set 9 inch nails on the floor and Kramnik would insert the 9 inch nails up his bum to excite himself. Unfortunately, he had to have an endoscopy later because something went wrong. I hope my words put a funny image in your mind, Merry Christmas.

      He's still brilliant when it comes to playing chess, but has always been delusional. Magnus put it the best way -
      "Kramnik thinks he knows everything.
      It’s very impressive how Kramnik reels out variations and so on, and it’s not so easy to discern if you don’t understand the game well yourself, but if you look a little deeper it’s often nonsense. He always plays very principled chess, but the biggest difference between him and me is that he makes a lot more mistakes. Often he seems to think he’s in the right, but I’m actually right.
      He’s very confident. He’s not afraid of anyone. He doesn’t think I’m better than him. He doesn’t think Aronian’s better than him and he doesn’t think Anand is better than him. He actually loses games to Nakamura, but he certainly doesn’t believe Nakamura is better than him."

      @@gorangoran6335 No, I was round back then. People in the 1990s complained about players relying too much on memorizing opening lines and using computers to analyze too. I also have a book from the late 1960s saying that chess has shown 'surprising resistance to become over analyzed to death' People have seemingly been always complaining about the 'modern' tendency for chess to be too analyzed . It's just another example of people whining about the current situation and looking back at earlier times with misguided fondness.
