I can't tell the songs from this album apart that much, accidentally downloaded it whole years ago. What a happy accident this was. Functions as a unit to me.
Ben got me through an incredibly tough time in my life - the Every Kingdom album was a daily listen for over a year. Years later, married to the love of my life, she arranged for us to see him when he visited the west coast of Canada. These days were behind him and he was only playing his “new” stuff - I understand the need to grow and change, as he helped me do in my life, but wow I would have given almost anything to hear these beautiful works of art live.
I can see Ben starting to revisit much more of his old stuff. At recent small gigs in the UK he has played The Fear, Oats in the Water, Conrad, The Wolves, etc., so there's a chance you'll get to see them in future

For me it's exactly the opposite. I can hardly hear every kingdom anymore. From noonday he will be musically much more demanding and, as we know, very willing to experiment. That's what I love so much about Ben Howard! Days of lantana is an absolute masterpiece! I hope he doesn't make another folk/pop album and stays true to his current line.

@@simon0904 I wish he had at least stayed on his Noonday Dream style a bit longer though. It was his first fully self-produced album and I could feel so much depth within it. I couldn't believe my ears when he released CFTW as I was ready for yet another ND, and I still can't help but feel as if his electronic approach was just ill-considered.

Boy everything got all jumbled on the 2 messages I sent. Listening to this wonderful concert is so different than how he sounds now with these "shot from" performances that have just been released on RUclips 6 days ago. He did End of the Affair and was barely audible. He was so tired near the end he could barely finish. Nobody seems to notice this. I do and am concerned for his health.
@@Sm-iw2vh Saw them 3 times in September ('21) and for me they were as brilliant as this. Broken ankle and all. Wished i could get to all the other shows. And I think he has known and played with Micky, Nat and Ritchie since at least when he was at uni in Falmouth. They are older now, but so am I!
imagine hearing Oats in the Water for the first time ever, nobody in the crowd even realizes any chords, and you'll experience this Wonder for the first time....
I was hooked the first time I ever heard "Oats in the water", been listening non-stop to all his other material ever since. Ben has an incredible talent and I am enjoying all of it. Hopefully he continues to bring performances like this to the stage. This performace was just awesome, incredible playlist.
One of the best concerts i have ever been! Please find back to this joyable, emotional and unique sound of music! 7 years later it still takes my breath away... one of a small amount of true Musicians with heart.
.....what I only feel, deep inside of me.... big waves of Love, endlessly..... many thanks to make me feel so human again, one more time, in a world where the word Human seems to loose its sense....❤
I have never heard Ben cover “Under The Same Sun” the way he did! So much energy and passion went into that! You could tell he was really feeling the energy in the venue and just let his soul go! Love it!!!!
The only artist I've bought an album straight off after hearing only once !! Watched him live at T in the Park 2012 and went out couple of days later and bought the CD on the back of that performance....... Absolutely amazing artist ! Can't stop watching his live performance in Cologne in 2013 I think. Amazing!!!!
One of those unexpected shows that just sound ,feel right. Could tell he was loving the energy and surprised by it. The album is amazing but this live version is outstanding with all the riffs and keeping it going just feeling it
Absolutely amazing performance by Ben plus one of the best crowd an artist could ever ask for. All of them know how to appreaciate his music instead of speaking or constantly calling his name or screaming like it would normaly happen. Respect for both of them.... I wish I could've been there!!!
He's a genius, not even necessarily because of talent that he has relentlessly in spades, he has jesus and the devil in him!! Man's unreal and blessed weither he likes it or not 💜
The other videos of this concert on RUclips have been deleted, please don’t ever delete this video.. I come here just for Promise, it’s the best version ever created
So often we hear artists who dont sound as good live. He is most definitely not one of them. His voice is amazing and so unique. I found him after his song was on the walking dead "Oats In the Water". Im still yet to hear a song that isnt great.
Listening to all three albums in a row with the burgh island ep in between EK and IFWWW is a trip. They seamlessly answer each other. I can’t imagine who I would be without his music. It engines so much thought and it’s gorgeous
I find even more interesting the change in the approach to the live performance: here he was quite cheery and even talkative (for his standards). I've seen him three months ago (in Italy, I guess the language barrier with the audience didn't help) and he basically just introduced the band. I mean, maybe he was just in a bad mood that night. I'm seeing him again in one week, we'll see :)
MET_ don’t think he’s had that great a relationship with audiences since a gig in Norwich when called them all c*#ts for wanting the every kingdom stuff
Doesn't matter what year your watching this.
if you reading this you have great taste of music!
i dont think theres a single soul out there who wouldnt give their right arm to hear Ben play his old stuff still now
I wouldn't
Does he not play it anymore?
nah i dont really wanna hear that shit
You are wrong! I would give both arms
@@meganvalek2690 No, New band too. Sounds different
I could honestly just play promise for hours & listen to that masterpiece. Easily one of Ben's most underrated songs!
I met him this year, at a difficult time in my life, I was enchanted by so much talent and feeling. Ben is incredible this is rare. 2023
I hope things are going better for you now
Nothing compares to Promise, what an absolute masterpiece of a song.
