Drawback of Gutters on Metal Pole Barn ! Why I didn't put them on my building.

This video shows why I didn't put gutters on my pole barn metal building. With Minnesota weather , sometimes we have heavy wet snow which will fill up and damage gutters. You can get around it by using roof snow guards , but now you have more holes in your metal roof , which will leak over time. I will go with using a roof rake and bringing the snow down by myself in a controlled fall. More work, but in long term, will be better for building.

I use a standard aluminum one but I put pipe foam on edges to prevent it from scratching the steel. Once you get a little grip on snow, snow slides off roof easily
