My 30 year asphalt roof I installed and know all the flaws .. never failed on the flaws but the shingles shrank dont past the nail line in 20 years.. a contractor wanted 34grand to do what me and my friends did in 3 days .. 20 years ago lol.. we replaced every piece of plywood . That job didn't last 20 years.. last year I replaced a metal roof that had only minor leaks arround chimney in Florida weather that roof was over 80 years old .. I was proud to replace that roof with metal .. I'm not going to live till I'm eighty but I can try and watch this new roof age .. I know it will last more than 20.. and if it dont it's easy to replace and a tenth of the cost if that .. and hug this a little while.. its recyclable down to the screws

I've found all these videos show how to do the simple job of doing the valley but none of them show how to cap off the valley peak. I assume they just use a lot of silicone and the valley peaks are good for a few years and start leaking

I watched a lot of videos painfully I might add.. some tell you a little bit but you might need to experiment a while.. in one vidio the older mexican guy capped that vally with little over lap and hammered the vally center together.. so you can torment your self or just do the best you can.. just saw a roof with piece of rubber over the vally peeks and said well why not didn't look to bad and solved his worries.. invention is allways driven somehow in this way..

i agree with people saying this will leak. The screws need to be above (or perhaps in) the foam tape. Otherwise, they will create holes in the valley flashing below the foam tape that are not protected. The screw washer only protects the top panel

I'm beginning to realize that really the seal is to keep wind blown rained snow from topping the vally walls. As long as your valleys dont dam up with debree gravity is on your side water shoots down these valleys like its rocked propelled so unlike asphalt roofing where the water soaks in and slowly seeps it's way down you dont have a back flow problem .. but if you do the seal is for that.. go up and look up that vally when its pouring rain .. you'll maybe get a new prospective of how metal roof sheds water like duck

You never should put screws that close to the bottom of the panels. As a rule of thumb, no screws should touch the valley pan

That's because you don't know what your doing. We put a 15 sq metal roof on in 2 1/2 hrs after prepping the roof after tear off.

This does not show how to fully install the valleys. There is no detail re: the top.. where leaks are most likely.

This is amateur work. No close at the bottom of the valley to prevent insects and actually look professional and clean, and the top is a guaranteed leak.
