WOW! I needed to hear this. As I age ( I turned 60 this year) I am gaining weight, cholesterol rising, blood pressure out of whack, hair loss, not handling life stresses, long term antidepressants (I mean 30+ years) , had hysterectomy at age 26 and started HRT (Premarin)....doing that for 30+ years. I think I'm a mess and perhaps should be in a study! This has opened my eyes about the rest of my life. I am going to be binge watching you. Thank you very much for all your work!!

Also if you need intensive help in person I can highly recommend Weimar Institute in northern California. I have been teaching community health and whole plant based nutrition for over forty years. I have seen so many amazing turn arounds to great health no matter the age of the person making good personal choices as they learn more.

I lost my appendix when it burst during my last trimester with my third child 42 years ago.
I also had radioactive iodine for thyroid at 28. Weight gain followed but after gall bladder surgery in 2009 I have gained 35 lbs. I ate strict Carnivore for 6 mos with no weight loss.
    I’m beyond disappointed.
I eat well now… and beginning to get stronger walking.
I have to say I’ve had years of weak abdominal issues.. debilitating actually.. but carnivore did cure that after 6 weeks.
I’ll try your path and hope for the best!

I did carnivore and lost 55 pounds bug I added olive oil, nuts, pumpkin seeds, organic sauerkraut, and yogurt. I believe that this helped me because I couldn't lose weight either, and I began intermittent fasting. It took 3 weeks, but all cravings left. Tea and coffee were hurting me, sugar, bad oils gone. This is great information I've been down all these different rabbit holes in frustrated trying to figure out how to heal this gut. I know I have leaky gut, Not to mention believe premenopausal at 48, inflammation, edema, and MS, so my body is a wreck as well, and I'm trying my best to figure out the right combination of food to heal this thing. Thank you for this wonderful information. Unfortunately I think it’s highly doubtful that anywhere in the near future, making the importance of microbiome and gut health first and foremost in the training of medical professionals will become a reality. We’ve know how important nutrition is for a long time yet physicians continue to get almost no nutrition training. It’s just not enough of a benefit for most physicians in our countries “sick-care” model.

Same for me--except more like 10 months. My PCP is head of colonoscopies in our community, so she kept pushing and pushing me solely because of my age (mid-50s), no symptoms, just screening. I finally gave in and it took many months for me to get my gut back in order. My digestion has been so screwed up from that. Pain after eating, nausea, slow movement of bowels, bloating....Never Again will I give in to a colonoscopy unless I have actual concerning symptoms and reasons to do it to myself. Because there is a price to pay.

I said, you are crazy if you think I am going to stop eating cheese after you had me stop eating red meat. I was then told to at least eat something other than just cheese. Thanks for taking the time to answer my 'question' - much appreciated!
I'm aware that a transcript is available, which is the text as it's being spoken.
What I'm looking for is something that I'd describe as 'chapters', indicating what's being discussed in each 'chapter'.

Oh, everybody is born dead, with hypothyroid, allergies and asthma, rheumatoid arthritis as a child, etc.! Not supposed to live to 18! Outlived more than 20 Dr.s! Dr. prescribed drugs that made me Diabetic! He died a year later from a heart attack from a prescribed drug. I read Science! I also started Yoga and martial arts at 8. We do not all start out with the same metabolism and all the antibiotics growing up and when I got lime disease mean I don't have a normal Gut Microbiome! Thank you to the MD. who killed me in birth! Think I probably eat better than you.

There is no old adage. I am 74 years old, we just ate food. There were no adages about it. We ate what was available. This is just lies packed onto more lies in my opinion. Plants make me sick. I am allergic to so many of them.Adage, indeed! 😂

I'm pretty you won't be well longterm if you don't have plant foods because human bodies need fibre. Don't know where you are from but in the West it has been normal for past generations to grow and eat vegetables and/or fruit or grain with every meal.

One thing you SHOULD be learning by listening to people like Dr.Li is that building your health isn’t as simple as a few quick bytes of info you can snatch off of the internet in 2 minutes.
He actually doesn’t talk all that much about his book, which by the way is excellent.
If you don’t have patience to listen to medical professionals who have done decades of health research, perhaps you should just look elsewhere.
There are ton of Quick Fix guys out there to watch. And they usually hawk their own health products. At least Dr. Li never does THAT.

I’m my own doctor I eat what i can and what I like. That’s included sugar to”in moderation. If I don’t eat what is sad don’t eat I wouldn’t have anything to eat.
Also i take Berberine. Nutralife with prebiotic and probiotics those are together in one pill.
I take Nutralife gut” powder in the morning on empty stomach.
Every night before bed I take together hal of tea spoon of Cinnamon half of tea spoon ginger
half of tea spoon of turmeric and half of tea spoon of clove in the cup with very warm water. Tha helping to clean you bowl in the morning. As well this organic herbal remedy are very healthy for your insides.
