Drake and Josh Theater Thug: Criminally Funny

- Drake and Josh Theater Thug premiered 19 years ago on Nickelodeon and to be quite frank: I haven't stopped thinking about this episode since I first saw it all those years ago.
Drake getting all the praise from his one single (but unforgettable) line. Josh getting repeatedly beaten in the streets. It's all so memorable in the best kind of way.
But does it still hold up? Is Theater Thug still just as funny as I remember? Well, it's time for a rewatch to see if Drake and Josh Theater Thug is really criminally funny!
P.S. if you're reading this remember who the real enemy is!

Massive, Giant, Crazy shoutout to the channel members: Kendyl OK, Bsosmoove, Qoogher, and our newest member J7ydin!
(Sorry you weren't in the end video shout out J7ydin, this video was finished over a week ago!)
“Whoa, just take it easy man”
"Back off 👊 "
“Hold on…say that line again”
I always liked saying that whenever someone was venting to me about something and I'd say it to break the tension lmao
Drake been through so much bruh
“Woah, just take it easy man” was my high school senior yearbook quote.
Nice
It’s funny because Hellen actually grew up as a child actress according to the show on “happy times” and yet she does this absolute madness on set 😂
Yeah, she just loves to boss people around. "You want me to put mustard on it?"
"It's not gonna put mustard on itself. 😃"
@TayoEXE that was so iconic 😂
“I AM NOT THE GUY!”
~ Josh
" HEY, HES WEARING A HIPPIE DISGUISE! "
- Some random guy in the background
LOLOL
My names Antoine
😅😅
@@troublemakerbros4267”What it is?!?” ✌️☮️
If only Josh still had the lucky shirt his grandma gave him
Josh really should have asked her for another one of those at some point
I forgot about the lucky shirt episode 😂 he should do that one too!
Unpopular Opinion : I hate how Josh was treated this episode he couldn’t go in public without being accused of being the guy and especially at the end when the cops tackled him and let the real theater thug get away.
I’d like to think that since they said the cops had that place surrounded, the real theater thug got caught when he went outside and Josh’s problems ended there.
I agree
Unpopular?🤣 who thinks he was treated fairly lol
@@823jordanr
"Megan...."
"So much hate in such a little girl"
No one likes how he was treated. That's the joke. It's so wrong
The phrase “Woah, just take it easy man.” was living in my head the other day randomly, and I was like “I wonder when is he gonna do a video on this episode.”
"Nah nah nah, my name is ANTWON!!" 😂😂
HOW ARE YOU?
😂😂😂😂😂
That shit was hilarious not gonna lie
I say "Woah just take it easy man" at least once a week I am not even kidding, I said it on set yesterday LMAO
Drake and Josh will forever be iconic
I feel bad for Josh in this episode, even till the end he still gets arrested despite actually stopping the criminal 😂
Good catch, I didn’t notice that.
It's not just this episode he's always treated like that.
“Schneider’s Secret” is FKING INSANE
Feet ?
The episode got backlash from a lot of fans for its treatment of Josh to the point where it airs rarely on reruns. Not to mention the thug got away at the end, making him a Karma Houdini.
Everyone who beat up and arrested him are also Karma Houdini's.

Good, i hated it too along with the rest of the series.
@CTladiesman If you hated it then why are you here? Stop wasting your time and ours, and move along.
@manicpepsicola3431 uh no, I'm gonna tell you that josh isn't just mistreated in this episode he's mistreated in the whole series.
"What it issss! ✌️😎"
So almost every single episode deserves this. Take your time I’ll wait years if I have to
It’s such a huge fan of the show I’m planning on going through the entire series 🔥
@@AggressivelyAveragethe entire show always has josh constantly being mistreated.
As funny as this episode is, it used to frustrate me so much as a kid lol. Josh didn't get to win at all this time
And endings like that are why the bad episodes in Schneider's Bakery sitcoms stick out like sore thumbs.
i love how so many of the most iconic and memorable episodes are from seasons 3 and 4. they really went out with a bang
Poor Josh was unjustly profiled and attacked
I remember as a kid, watching D&J with my mom and I remember her saying something like, "Wow that Schneider guy loves to put his name on everything!"
See my name is Antione, how are you? shit still kills me
✌️what it isss
Okay this might be just me but I feel like Helen got much needed karma with them filming without her. She’s such a jerk to Josh that it honestly felt refreshing that they decided to give her an “L” on this episode
Thank you for this review! I respect how bad many people feel for Josh, and he definitely gets the short end of the stick here, but this episode is still solidly funny and has some good moments. Steered Straight is still the episode I would like to see you cover most, but you're doing an amazing job! Keep up the great videos!
I feel like Josh being able to knock down the treehouse and not the door says more about their treehouse skills than Josh’s knock-down skills
We all know what Schneider's Secret is.
Its the Theater Thug!!
What did I think of the episode? It was absolutely abysmal! This was a Josh torture porn and I felt sorry for him the whole episode! There were some jokes that made me laugh but the fact that he's the one who was punished in the end angered me so much just like ending to that SpongeBob episode A Pal for Gary where SpongeBob punished Gary for Puffy Fluffy's actions! One of the worst episodes of the show and one of the worst endings to any sitcom I've ever seen!
Josh should be suing the hell out of the San Diego Police Department for multiple unlawful arrests.
Yeah, but this is a dan schneider sitcom. We can't have the nerdy, straight-laced, good person fighting and standing up for himself. Thats not my personal opinion that what most nickelodeon fans would say.
You think he can afford legal counsel? He works at a movie theater
@@CTladiesman
This is why the worst episodes stick put like sore thumbs in Schneider's Bakery.
Bad episodes treat characters like dirt... just cuz.
I like the Driver's License episode though because... one for the faulty tail light, and one... FOR THIS!
"Josh gets Jumped by the golden girls live on nickelodeon!" lmao
Another banger video bro 🔥
How does Helen all of a sudden forget how to act and not remember her unforgettable role starring in happy days. How could anyone forget her infamous “that is not my job” line in the show
I dunno, I kinda hated the episode for constantly unfairly punishing Josh, and how dumb the cops were to not even recognize the face of the real thug.
It's not just this episode It's the whole series.
bro that’s the whole point shit is hysterical
@@andonporpora6513 don't justify cruel treatment of "nerds"
Agreed. Plus, the real thug doesn't even really look like Josh at all, so I don't understand how so many people kept thinking it was him, police included.
@@papabloodharvest9542 because this sitcom is written by an evil man who loves to entertain evil people who never amount to anything because they're stupid.
Another banger bro thank you 🤘🤘🤘
From “The Gary Grill” to “Theater Thug” to “Steered Straight” to “Merry Christmas Drake & Josh” the boys especially Josh have been arrested so many times it’s kinda ridiculous.
Josh didn't deserve to get arrested in the Christmas special. Schneider is just a goblin when it came to undeserved punishment.
At some point, the police would either ignore any calls about the Theater Thug in the San Diego area or give out some sort of statement about how the actor in the reenactment should not be constantly arrested (would that be double jeopardy for Josh?)
I think the outdoor shopping area is supposed to be the entrance to the Premiere (you can even see it written on one of the windows behind Drake at one point) so that’s why Josh is there all the time
I think Aggressively Average is purposely making the Theater Thug sound so outlandish and foolish because he is in fact the theater thug himself.
I Love Your Channel Broski
The whole joke of him being mistaken for the theater thug was the fact he played the actor for him on the most wanted show..
This is a funny episode my favorite quote in this episode is “nah man my name is Antwon “ it’s so funny the way josh says that line
drake must have done parkour as a kid cause the theater thug COULD NOT catch that man 🤣🤣
Josh Server! One of my favorites from the original All That
omg you’re right that is him!
I watched this episode for the first time when I was a kid and was feeling bad for Josh, because he was picked to be the theater thug even though he looks nothing like him but everyone keeps wrongly profiled as the theater thug everywhere he goes like bffr I get it it’s a funny gag which I loved but come on this soo wrong on so many levels 😂❤
Helen's acting was accurate for any woman in that type of situation
“see my name is antwon” 😂😂😂
Aggressively Average? Nah nah nah, ya see my name is Antwone.
"Whoa, just take it easy man..."
Best line in the whole show.
12:03 I always thought that since they recorded the episode with Josh and not someone who actually looked like him, it hurt their chances of recognizing the real Theater Thug. Likewise, the number of times Josh was arrested may have spread the false rumor that the Theater Thug was no longer at large.
Memorable, iconic episodes I'd be thrilled to see you cover:
The Bet
Movie Job
Little Diva
Blues Brothers
The Demonator
Battle of Panthatar
Foam Finger
Megan's New Teacher
Drew & Jerry
Also forgot to mention Josh is Done and Eric Punches Drake
Whoa just take it easy man was iconic but "gimme the money I aint playing" will always be an inside joke between me and friends
Not only do the police wrongfully arrest him in the Christmas special, they throw my man Josh off the roof like last months old tree.
19 years??? I remember this vividly as a kid
Drake: Whoa, just take it easy, man.
Mailman: Don't tell me what to do
Don't worry I constantly quote "Woah, just take it easy, man" all the time too
The Storm and Steered Straight are my 2 favorite episodes, would love to see you do either one!
To be fair, that treehouse was built by Drake and Josh. The house was probably built by actual builders.
I've brought up the Dubya thing so many times but people never realize how crazy it is 😭
19 years 👴
"Oye, tranquilo viejo" is so iconic in the Spanish (Mexican) dub aswell
Banger? This is a very hated episode, a lowest rated, cruel, unfunny episode.
You're gonna respond with "woah, just take it easy, man!" But I'm not the only one thinking it. Every show at some point always gets that one really bad, unnecessarily cruel to a character episode. For Drake and Josh, this one was it.
Surprised it wasn’t “Schneider’s pizza”
Josh getting arrested at the end always pissed me off as a kid 😂
My name is Anton and I used to have an afro, and my friends and I lost it at the “Nah nah, see my name is Antoine!” scene
"why would robbers target only theatres..." Well , didn't you answer your own question? Maybe they want to target somewhere with low security to consistently get away with.
I literally played agaisnt a guy named the theater thug in rivals last night.
We were playing and when he died I was like hey you got a big head dude and he hit me with the woah just take it easy man
I swear if I get a "what it isss" from Agressively Average, I'll join the boys as a supporter 😂
Hey it’s the theater thug! Let’s get him!!
Seeing how many times Josh is wrongfully arrested, I wouldn’t be surprised if he became an ACABer as an adult…and I wouldn’t blame him for it.
I can’t believe I almost forgot this review was coming. Maybe I should just take it easy…man
The "Theater thug" is such a funny stupid name / concept that as an adult this episode is even funner lol
Drake's line is a pretty big meme in Spanish-speaking circles.
Everyone talks about “whoa, just take it easy man” but my favorite Drake quote is “where’s she from? Hotsylvania?”
@@loganwithlightsabers3051 I don't remember that quote. What episode was that from?
Awesome content! You should do the episode on the lucky shirt
4:32 me after the quiet on set stuff
Watching the rerun of this episode made me realized how messed up it was to see Josh get attacked by everyone because he looked like the thug. And the ending was funny the first time, the second viewing made me both mad and sad. But hey. At least it gave us a memorable quote thanks to Drake Bell.
I think it's time to binge Drake and Josh now.
Also, I would love to see you do a video on the episode that Josh was done with Drake. That episode was so uncomfortable to watch as a kid because Drake is just getting shat on for once throughout the whole episode while Josh doesn't have his back like he always does.
Josh is Done is good karma for once. Because since Josh cut out Drake in his life, Josh got better whule Drake got worse.
Move the melon… The WATERMELON!
My favorite quote
Man you gotta do a video on the episode where Josh breaks his foot and Drake pretends to be a Doctor, I think it's called "Paging Dr. Drake"
How the hell you get a record by accident, poor Josh! 😂😂😂
Also... "What it is?" 😅
One of my favorites episodes is The Foam Finger and I like the part at the end where Drake and Josh imagine themselves at 80 years old😂😂
Showed how Megan was born as an evil genius.
I love this show ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"Whoa Just Take It Easy Man"
Love these maan ❤️
screech with pleasure is crazy
10:07 I have a good idea of why Megan did it. "Nobody gets to beat up Josh but me", or something like that.
As a kid I hated these episodes because they didn't resolve anything at the end.
I loved this episode!
Helen's screaming had me rolling.
When I was a kid I enjoyed this episode but looking back it was really mean spirited. It's probably the worst episode of Josh torture for literally no reason, plus the Theater Thug and Josh look nothing alike. Then at the end they arrest Josh smh
One thing I think you misunderstood about the episode, I don't think Josh was getting mobbed because he looked like the FBI most wanted guy, I think he was getting mobbed because he played the FBI most wanted guy in the episode they filmed for and when the public mistook him for the guy, it was because they thought he looked like himself because they were comparing Josh to Josh playing the FBI most wanted guy on TV
It’s surely doses kept’s me laughing from this day way more.😅❤
14:31 - 14:50
The end credits were actually from footage of season 2.
In fact. They also have that footage from Season 2's The Gary Grill episode
Brotha! Please do “Paging Dr Drake” that episode to this day still cracks me up 😅
"I'm not impersonating a doctor! I'm PRETENDING to be a doctor!"
I’m glad you left in “stupid schneiders!”
I don't wanna know ANYTHING about Schneider's Secret.
I do like my head closed!
You gotta open every video from now on with ‘What it is…’
I love Drake & Josh. The show is funny, memorable, and endlessly quotable, as well as a staple of my childhood. There are so many episodes I can recite practically verbatim! So don't think I'm bashing or hating on the show as a whole, but I hate the ending to this episode. This is basically a Josh torture episode (there a few funny iconic lines but even they aren't enough to save it) without a proper satisfying conclusion. There are a few things about this otherwise masterpiece of a show that haven't aged well:
-Megan always getting away with murder, being a Karma Houdini
-Characters like Walter, Craig, Eric, and Josh being dump-on characters. Even as a kid, I remember watching, thinking, What did Walter do to deserve being endlessly tortured?
"Whoa, just take it easy, man" -Somebody, inevitably
Unpopular opinion, I know, but it needs to be said.
Every time I watch this show I feel like everyone besides the main characters are brain dead lol
Felt really sorry for Josh in this episode
Man, Josh just can’t catch a break
Too funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
