Fry scream: ✅ False-cord gutturals: ✅ Throat singing: ✅ Normal singing: ✅ Overtone singing: HOW After i learn this, i want to try my voice at overtone throat singing. Awesome video, a bit different of a technique than other vids i’ve watched.
@@HarmonicPolyphonic Actually, it’s only been a month and i got it! I feel as though learning death metal vocals helped make me a better normal singer and learning normal singing helped make me a better vocalist overall. I’m a musician so i already play guitar, bass and keys on top of singing now. You have a good technique for this overtone singing. I skipped this because i couldn’t figure it out 😅
Oh my life! I'm doing it! Might be a while before I feel fully in control of shifting the overtone up and down or moving the fundamental. But I am doing it! 😊
OMG... I have to come here!!! After I watched your video , this lesson just kept running through my head... This morning ,in the bathroom, I tried and guess what???? IT WORKED!!! I even recorded it and sent it to my brother (who also knows about this topic).. After 12 long years, I GOT IT. Now I'll keep practicing for more notes control ❤️ Thank you so much!!!
@@HarmonicPolyphonic there's a group, Pentatonix... Well .. a former member of that group, Avi Kaplan used to do that during concerts and nobody could understand "how " 😍 after that, the idea of Overtone kept running through my head, dear.
One time I was doing the longest yeah boi ever and did the overtone, only time I’ve ever been able to do it, so I’m here again learning the tongue placement lol
so far I do polyphonic mostly when I drive and yes your recommendations helped me! having much more and more fun liberating my voice :) let's keep up the good practice! do you know kechari mudra?? I reckon practice of that helped me as well - I kind of went to semi advance level of it but still discovering the next steps what are you using for editing your video for youtube with background music?
I've never heard of kechari mudra! Could you send me a link that you think gives a good overview? Is it a vocal practice? :) I use final cut pro... very basic chopping at the moment haha and then adding music from epidemic sound.
Thank you for the lessons. For so many years, I've wondered about this. My first attempts are not working... though I feel/hear/sense a kind of vibration going on at the tip of my tongue. Will keep at....
Thank you a lot! I guide meditations with a friend who uses tibetan singing bowls, and ocassionaly we chant during the practice. I think this will be a very powerfull way to enhance that. I'm following you, thanks :)
It really does help doesn't it!! I find it is good to do the ear cupping when trying different tongue positions and subtle movements that way you can get used to what you are doing to cause it to be the loudest and keep doing that to start xx
@@HarmonicPolyphonic The first half of the video, where you speak out. Less than half second asynchronicity, this was not so visible, it happened maybe because you removed some frames with any software.
Question: I realize that the sound should manufest due to how you place your tongue. But where in your mouth does it generate? Is it by your tongue or is it kinda by your lips sorta like whistling?
Where the sound comes from. Whistling uses air turbulence on the lips for producing sound, while overtone singing brings the voice partials in resonance x
Sadly it does not work for me immediately but will keep practicing, I once met a guy who was the most amazing overtone singer and would love to be able to do it.
Hello thanks for the video. I’ve been able to do this for a while now, but i can’t seem to make it very loud, it’s very subtile. Is there any way to make it sound more?
Hi there, it really does come down to consistent practice (mine has got less loud since I have stopped practicing), and experimenting with different acoustic environments: hallways, bathrooms, outdoors, cars. Let me know x
I had a very amazing experience when I had an 'NDE'. I fell (actually)from a high bleacher at a concert-presumably died (to much detail to write here)and came back, then as I looked at faces of the crowd around me they all had looks of fear, but I could hear their "heart chakra" saying 'I love you' in a child like voice. I tried to say 'thank you' and I spontaneously began to sing "THANK YOU" in polyphonic tones over and over. If you think that's crazy you wouldn't believe what happened next... tbc lol
@ArcherCrowe-mv1fq the whole hallway of dancers below me went down on the ground. Like smoke in reverse ...nobody cracked on the floor. A friend who was there came to snuggling with his partner on the floor. A group puddle, except the cops who just stopped and looked up like puppies
I dreamed that i was tought gutural singing in Tibet, and when i woke up i could do it. 3 days later i hear a guy singing like that in a garage so i sang with him. He had been practicing for 3 years. Me just one day. I was so shy. 🤭

Very amazing, it actually works, and I found out that changing the shape of the lips, help amplify the overtone as well
Amazing! I am happy you found this technique worked for you :D Definitely agree with the shape of the lips too :) xx

Your lesson is the best. Also the best and clearest representation of
polyphonic singing. Thanks!
That is really kind of you to say, thank you Danibelle! xx

Do you touch the palate with your tongue? Thanks for the video.
In this particular video I do, but I don't usually. In Lesson 2 I do a different way xx
I'm in love I think.
Appreciate the love! x
The ear cupping helps so much! Holy smokes it sounded like the loudest whistle but when I moved my hands I couldn’t hear it 🥺

idk why im tryna learn this bruh i cant even whistle, ill just stick to my cursive singing 😭
I can't whistle either. Its completely different :) You can do it!!
hi! unfortunaltely your links in description doesn't work anymore... maybe you can update them? thanks in advance. 🙂
Oh apologies! I may of made the videos private now sorry xx

I'm great! How are you?
@@HarmonicPolyphonic i'm fiiiine, thx.
I'd love to hear your tones without the ethereal music playing over everything.
Of course 😃 I have plenty of videos without music xx
I’d like to be able to get harmony out of it
