I'm a beginning watercolor artist, been learning for a couple of years now, and I'm not exactly cringing, but I do want to sop up all that extra water on your paper lol. That being said, whatever works for you is what works for you. There are no art police, thank all the gods! I'm just enjoying learning how to relax and make collage fodder from you. 😊💜

@@raisdbywolvz I just do whatever I enjoy in the moment without any claims that I’m doing anything “the right way” lol. I don’t notice a lot of things going on while I’m filming til after the fact so next time I’ll try to use less water. BUT I have low quality watercolors so they don’t spread well without much more water than a higher grade watercolor would.

@@TrashyTreasyours not to say I'm still doing magazine doodle collage fodder- I went back to a couple gelli printing techniques with sharpies, but yeah. Now tonight I'm going to doodle on gelli prints 😻 great inspiration! Thanks! Love the leafy doodle you love to make. Idk if I could do it justice, myself. My flowers also come out same-y and not so good lol much less leaves and branches

have you tried wetting paper first ? Turn on faucet to light stream and roll paper back and forth so whole paper gets wet. Shake off any extra water if you like. Put color to wet side of paper, let dry. Then you could turn paper over so painted paper is on the bottom. Use pencil or pen to draw shapes desired. Cut them out. Turn them over and see awesome outcome of painting blind !!

I have watercolored a few pictures. I really like it, but I have problems seeing shadows and highlights, which is pretty important. It doesn't keep me from enjoying it, though! -Kryste

If you try different scrunched up tissue or papertowel when it's wet, the paint will show texture shapes.

@TrashyTreasyours just to cause print lines but not leaving on the tissue or towel. It causes texture look by the way it pulls up some of the color and water
@TrashyTreasyours you dab like trying to dry it a bit, not actually leaving anything ontop to dry

Pretty. Can you explain the difference between Fodder and Ephemera please.
@@joyann6914 I believe they go hand in hand. I haven’t been able to distinguish between them. Fodder means food, I know that much lol. My understanding of collagen fodder=anything you can collage with (scraps/handmade pieces etc).
