Im 44. I wrestled for 4 years. I was never a Punk fan. I didn't see his early work. I only became a fan due to AEW screwing him & I respected the fact he told the truth threw that entire ordeal. It drew me away from AEW & back to WWE when I was anti-WWE FOREVER. I was a WCW guy who left during 2002-2006 when Vince killed the business. However I'm a HUGE fan of Drew. This guy needs to win vs Punk. As much as I love Punk I think Punk knows what's good for business. Punk takes the L - proves he can still work - which is the point & then puts on a banger against Seth. Then he can go to Mania against someone else. That's the way it works. I hope we see that.
Had an even bigger respect for Drew after that Mania match. You got to have a good understanding of what’s best for business and throw your ego aside to see how great of a moment that is. He's gotta realize, deep down, that Punk isn't a cancer or poison to WWE, he's bringing out the best in Drew, they had the most anticipated match at SummerSlam.. who else would Drew have that with? He can only wrestle Rollins so many times. He's gotta love the eyeballs that are drawn to him because he's involved with Punk. At the end of the day, it's about butts in seats, and Punk still brings that, and still gets a much bigger reaction than McIntyre does if we're being honest.
I will put it out here, I believe that although there has been an issue between Drew and Punk, that they have buried the hatchet. The photo of Drew and Jungle Jackoff was taken with Punk's blessing, Drew said it himself. If Drew truly hated Punk, he wouldn't need Punk's blessing and wouldn't be working together on everything every step of the way during this storyline.

Watching the Drew/CM Punk feud and seeing all the screw overs Drew has had to take with telling that story, I hope Drew gets a huge Wrestlemania payoff at this next Wrestlemania, just like Cody was able to "finish his story" after all the roadblocks he faced. Drew has been asked to do a lot for the WWE over the past few months (even after he was fired a little while back), taking a backseat to Punk and allowing Punk to constantly screw him, even in his homeland of Scotland. Drew can be the face of the WWE - hopefully HHH and the team give Drew the title and allow him to be the champ and the face of WWE for multiple months - similar to Roman and now as Cody is currently doing. HHH has asked Drew to put off the big payoff to have an even greater payoff in the end - again similar to Cody. He's able to play a heel and people still love him - he's truly himself, which people love - and he's a great guy on top of that. Great interview - thanks for sharing!

In all honesty, I love Dor McTeer. My favorite wrestler is Dor at the moment. He is the best wrestler in the world according to me. I don’t care about everyone who says he doesn’t deserve the best, but according to me he is the best in the world.
The only issue that I have with Drew (and others) giving Punk shit for walking away is that it's pretty clear that Punk had legitimate reasons to not be there any more. He's just one of the few guys with the balls, and the star power, to actually just walk away and do what is best for him.
My top three wrestlers of all time are Drew McIntyre, Bret Hart, Bill Goldberg, Seth Rollins and Mick Foley in that order. I have been watching Drew since he started in the business and have always thought of Drew as an A class pro, an excellent entertainer and a man with a lot of heart when it comes to the business. He has been and remains my favorite wrestler/entertainer of the wrestlers of today. CM Punk is not even close to the abilities of Drew in my opinion!

The Punk comments are so real, you can feel Drew really means what he says and honestly this is the first time I heard him say Punk halted his momentum somehow way back. I think in general, him and Punk are cut from a similar cloth - they are simply salt of the Earth workers who have to work incredibly hard to get up in life and no one forgives them much. Drew got fired and had to reinvent himself and bust his ass, Punk in WWE had to scratch and claw to get to the top despite not really being liked by management. And for people like this, Punk leaving as he did in 2014 and then shunning WWE for 7 years, including attacking it on podcasts and AEW TV, is something people like Drew and Punk always have to somehow redeem and pay for. And Punk never really did that, probably because at his age, he just doesn't have the energy to spend years working hard to earn back some goodwill, because his body just can't take it. And his co-workers like Drew still don't forgive him, because well, he still gets prominent spots, big paydays, and he even came to WWE off of attacking people physically in WWE. It's like they totally understand each other and where each is coming from, but Drew can't forgive Punk for blatantly and in a major way going around rules that apply to people like them. I understand both of them and Punk's biggest mistake was attacking WWE publicly.

Drew has been asked to do a lot for the WWE over the past few months (even after he was fired a little while back), taking a backseat to Punk and allowing Punk to constantly screw him, even in his homeland of Scotland. Drew can be the face of the WWE - hopefully HHH and the team give Drew the title and allow him to be the champ and the face of WWE for multiple months - similar to Roman and now as Cody is currently doing. HHH has asked Drew to put off the big payoff to have an even greater payoff in the end - again similar to Cody. He's able to play a heel and people still love him - he's truly himself, which people love - and he's a great guy on top of that. Great interview - thanks for sharing!

In all honesty, I love Dor McTeer. My favorite wrestler is Dor at the moment. He is the best wrestler in the world according to me. I don’t care about everyone who says he doesn’t deserve the best, but according to me he is the best in the world.
The only issue that I have with Drew (and others) giving Punk shit for walking away is that it's pretty clear that Punk had legitimate reasons to not be there any more. He's just one of the few guys with the balls, and the star power, to actually just walk away and do what is best for him.

My top three wrestlers of all time are Drew McIntyre, Bret Hart, Bill Goldberg, Seth Rollins and Mick Foley in that order. I have been watching Drew since he started in the business and have always thought of Drew as an A class pro, an excellent entertainer and a man with a lot of heart when it comes to the business. He has been and remains my favorite wrestler/entertainer of the wrestlers of today. CM Punk is not even close to the abilities of Drew in my opinion!

The Punk comments are so real, you can feel Drew really means what he says and honestly this is the first time I heard him say Punk halted his momentum somehow way back. I think in general, him and Punk are cut from a similar cloth - they are simply salt of the Earth workers who have to work incredibly hard to get up in life and no one forgives them much. Drew got fired and had to reinvent himself and bust his ass, Punk in WWE had to scratch and claw to get to the top despite not really being liked by management.
And for people like this, Punk leaving as he did in 2014 and then shunning WWE for 7 years, including attacking it on podcasts and AEW TV, is something people like Drew and Punk always have to somehow redeem and pay for. And Punk never really did that, probably because at his age, he just doesn't have the energy to spend years working hard to earn back some goodwill, because his body just can't take it. And his co-workers like Drew still don't forgive him, because well, he still gets prominent spots, big paydays, and he even came to WWE off of attacking people physically in WWE.
It's like they totally understand each other and where each is coming from, but Drew can't forgive Punk for blatantly and in a major way going around rules that apply to people like them. I understand both of them and Punk's biggest mistake was attacking WWE publicly.

Drew is a Vince McMahon guy, Punk never was. I can see that being the potential source of their beefs back then in terms of company direction. I don't see why, after everything that's happened with Vince, that Drew still thinks Punk isn't around now to help the future of WWE..?
