Just a thought. If you ground the IKEA pin to a point, it would make a nice hole to receive the tip of the drill bit. Thanks for the video!

This is freakin' awesome. I have time while I am unemployed (Thanks, COVID) but no $$. This is a great alternative to the $30 Kreg jig. Thanks!

Pure genius. I'm about to build a pair of adjustable shelves and this saved me so much time, money and headache. Thank you!

Stupid simple idea, great video to back it up!! Thank you. Stupid question, but why not just use the peg board and clamp it to whatever project you’re working on??

The peg board is too thin to use as a drill guide or punch guide, hence making the jig.

@@EricSorensenCanada i'm thinking of cutting a few more pieces of the peg board and gluing them together - that would make them thick enough?

Great project. I wanted the 32mm spacing between hole so I didn't use the pegboard for the guide. I made a pattern and just drilled the holes using that. They're aren't 100%, but the shelves in my new bookcase don't rock at all. Thanks for posting this. Saved me $40 on buying a jig at the store.

@David Letz Thanks! We weren't supposed to have snow this year but we ended up with record breaking snow fall! The most we've had since 1996. It's starting to melt now 🙂

Thanks Thomas! I use a Dewalt DWE7485 8-1/4. The one in the video here is an older Ridgid 10" job site table saw.
