@@angiehier Terrible song(lyrics are OK, it's the sound more)! Should have sang Tuesday Afternoon! Oh wait! I want that sung by a younger, shaggier, more hippified pre-sellout Justin Hayward.
Justin Hayward is dead like the song Timothy Leary is dead. The Justin Hayward since 1978 is a sellout whereas the pre-1978 Justin Hayward is not a sellout. Sam Forrest looks and sounds like a younger pre-sellout Justin Hayward. He should sing in a Moody Blues Tribute band that plays only their first 7 albums and even portray Justin in a biopic.
It’s also more meaningful when the listener is older. I was 5 when it released, and it was the first pop song I fell in love with. It is, after all, about remembering long lost love. The nostalgia value is as high as the musicianship.
Hey look at the bright side. We have lived through a period of creativity that will be compared with that of all of the classical artists. These guys were heaven sent to do just what they did.
I’m 22 and can’t help but notice that today’s music industry is SEVERELY lacking in thoughtful/upbeat tunes like this classic. Current musicians need to learn from groups like the moody blues
Its because its all a cover song talent show on t.v. I wish these so called singers can come up with their own stuff. Ammmmericas Got Talent used to be good, but now its all singing and a bunch of people not from america judging the show. Seriously, when did sofia vergara become an expert on american talent? (I cant even understand her)
upbeat? The song is about sorrow and a lost love. The irony is that the lyrics sound hopeful and the tempo is medium which gives the listener a different impression that what the lyrics tell
Yes. When i played in high school in '94, there were about 3 singers including myself, now everyone is a singer but no good instrument players. The idol show and talent shows are crap. A manager for bands like Def Leppard, Metallica , judged my battle of the bands in '97, got my band best guitarist, drummer, bassist, and vocals, (im not gonna drop his name, but new music sucks these days.) So bieber sings about loving and lost someone, yeah, you ar 14 years old. You know nothing of it) haha. They all just lucky that talentless people have utube, kik, tictoc and that bull puckey.
I can Remember when I heard it the first time.i was a truck driver, always was. It reminded me of my wife. She is gone now. It still does. I love you kat!❤
Excellent, no surprise here. 68 now and having recently lost my love I've got to be faithful in knowing she waits for me.We shared and made sweet memories to their beautiful music. A true gift from our creator.☝🙏💜🎶🎵🎼
It is absolutely criminal that it took RNRHOF so long to recognize the absolute genius of this band. So richly deserved and absolutely humble in the acceptance.
The RNRHoF did not seem to understand that prog rock was a big part of RNR. They slighted Rush and Yes too. Pitiful that Chris Squire was gone when Yes inducted.
Yea. They do think about you! Im 72 and that one that got away contacted me after a long long time and wish he can see me again before he dies😢 He said he had often thought of what happened to me, if im ok, if im happy and i was busy wd life and my family, i never thought back of things long gone
Me too...their music chokes me up....but since they are pretty up there in age...i'm kind of sad that they are pretty much at the end of the road...Moody Blues is done....how much longer is John and Justin going to keep going on their own?
This has always remained me of the one I left behind so many years ago... who ultimately realized was the one true love in my life. The fact they are now older....simply underscores how timeless this song is.
Only thing missing was Janet Spencer-Turner....I really think she helped set the mood for this amazing song! Gosh, if we could only stay young for an extra 20 to 900 years!!!
Art Bell turned me onto this band in the early 2000's when he used to play their music as bumper music on Coast to Coast AM, and I was in my early 20's. RIP Art Bell
Justin wrote this song when he was 40. Rock and roll is a young man's game, and not many memorable songs are written by men at that age. But this was the Moody's second biggest hit after Knights in White Satin.
The moody blues are the first, and, so far, only band to have their first three top five hits happen in three consecutive decades. 1. Nights in white satin (1967), 2. I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band (1970's), and 3. Your wildest dreams (1980's)
Is he the real deal here or just a double or impostor like PID(Paul Is Dead) and JID(Justin Is Dead since 1978)? How is life pretending to be Justin Hayward? The Real Justin Hayward who died in 1978 would not be caught singing this pop trite song.
The song makes you think of all the “what if’s” and “ could have beens”. And then you look them up on Facebook many years later and they become “thank Gods” 😂
I just found a 3 CD set of the Moody Blues best music in a thrift store and have been playing them and reminiscing about my teenage years. What a great band! Hall of Fame recognition was way overdue.
Over the years I have been advocating for their induction into the HOF. Now I hear they have already entered the hall. My respect for the HOF has increased. There are still an number of bands that should be in, but aren't. Keep the faith!
One of a few bands that still perform on stage and do their best and with most of the original members but without the original keyboard player and Ray who is not here with us no more. RIP Ray.
My favorite Rock and Roll band of all time ! ! ! ! ! I saw them with friends, I wish I saw them with my wife Jennie and Daughter Alice ! ! ! Peace and love to Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Mike Pender, Clint Warwick, Rodney Clark and Patrick Moraz ! ! ! ! ! ! Rest in Peace Ray Thomas, I know you are in Heaven with God and Jesus Christ ! ! ! ! !

Last time seeing them was outside on a beautiful summer evening in Bethlehem PA. Walking distance from where I lived, such a great concert, wonderful energy in the air. Never forget that happy fun time, spent with a good friend.
@@dominicvallejos1628 For me. better than Lennon and McCartney. The Beetles music is great, but it never touched me or got inside me. Justin and Johns lyrics saw inside me, touched me, directed me. Gram's poetry lulled me to sleep at night and put me to dreaming and drove away nightmares. I read many a many books while having there many LPs on the record player, especially To Our Children's Children's Children and In search of the Lost Cord. House of Four Doors is a favorite of mine and I had always interpreted the songs(s) the wrong way -lol.
@Artur Belo Yes, and I do not forget either (One Step in to the Light, by Pinder, is wonderful!!). As for the most prolific Moodies song writer, it has to be Justin, and/or the pairing of Justin and John (whether either would admit it today is another story (so sad)).
Many, many years ago this was my favourite song. I'd try and fail to reach the notes I wanted to while singing along. Now I can finally say, while I'm 69 years old, I've caught up with you guys. That in no way lessens my love of you. You'll always be part of my personal musical history.
Recognition long over due. Congratulations Moody Blues.
Nice. I turn 42 next week, i grew up on this, driving up to Maine. Beautiful song and beautiful part of America. (Lovely memories)

The music is as fresh as it was in 86. Fabulous song. Intelligent lyrics. Ah the good days of music.

Me too!
Me too, remembering HER.
Same brother. Hits way to close to home. Lost her through a military move. The most painful end to any relationship I've experienced.
