I want to say thank you for this video. You gave me the hint of looking at the SIM card. I simply pulled it out, and it came back on with the reboot message.
Your battery connection may have come loose, use hairdryer over the back of the phone to soften the sticky adhesive. Then remove the back cover and inspect the battery connection, worked for me mine was disconnected
I get it working after plug it with the computer. Then it wake up. Normally i dont use computer to charge my phone, but now it help to solve this problem... I also bought a new battery, so now it works like a charm!

Hello Guys! I had the exact same problem on Xperia Z2 it wouldn't turn on, when plugged into AC Charge just red light blinked again and again. SOLUTION > I removed the back of the phone, unpinned the battery connector and then pinned it again. After this I pressed 'Power Button' + 'Volume up and down' keys at the same time (Three keys) for about 10 secs and by miracle phone turned on with the battery of about 60%. Hope it works for you too.

hey guys...just solve this problem on my z3 compact. My phone was exposed to water then it turned off and when i try to turn it on it keeps on blinking the red led. What i do is try to dry the phone (put in rice) then after it dried remove the back cover. U will see two connector for the battery, 1 at the top and another below. pull off the top connector then plug in charger to the phone, then my phone start to boot up! then I connect back the battery connector. Hope this helps!

Sony sucks. Xperia Z5 Premium just died after software upgrade and reboot. Same failure symptom. I will need to send it for a repair. Just about 6months of usage. Havent gone underwater. As a side note ... I also think the photo image quality is really bad. Bye-bye Sony.

I am sure my battery is in good condition and fully charged but no reaction with the battery mode. but in the charging mode and when I hold down the power and volume up button, it vibrates 3 times and appears sony logo after that appear charging status and then black screen.

just solve it.. i just open the back case.. then.. open the battery circuit. press the power.. to lose the extra volt.. then.. put it back.. charge it.. it works.
I got the same problem after changing the battery (red led blinking and the phone wouldn't turn on no matter what I did), it turned out that I hadn't pressed the connector to the new battery all the way down onto the main board... If you have this problem it might be that the connector has been disconnected for some reason (dropped the phone several times?). Look on youtube for video instructions to open the back side for a battery replacement and check if the connector is loose.

If you installed magisk to play pokemon go with a locked bootloader this also can happen! No solution will work, except of this: Plug the phone into a windows pc with the volume button pressed down and you should hear the pc recognizing the phone! If this works, then get the sony companion and select software repair. It will take a very long time, but on the second try it worked! The phone booted again. All data is lost though together with root. But anyway better then a bricked phone ;)

There is a small red button inside the compartment where the SIM is located, if you press and hold it, it will reset the phone. If this does not work, you may need to send your phone for service.
I took the sim card,memory card and the back cover off. I then removed the battery. Put the battery back in.Plugged in the charger and boom,it starts working 😀.

I have a similar problem with mine I guess(?), it turns on if I plug it in or unplug it, I click the camera button it turns on and the power button isn't jammed but it doesn't do it's job anymore. also the volume down button (isn't much of an issue since I don't really use it) is jammed and when I do get it to click the volume goes up, so I have two volume up buttons.... Nope, it fell and inch and landed on grass. There's no physical damage that I can see to it other then the jammed volume down button. Aside from the power button and the jammed volume down it works just fine

i solved the exact same problem, just take off the back cover of the phone and look at the battery connector, in my case it was disconnected from the motherboard, or find the same battery from another same bad phone, and just replace them.

I tried the up and power button. Somehow when it's plugged to the charger it vibrated but didnt do anything. I tried it again but this time I disconnected it to the charger and pushed ON and UP button. The phone vibrated then it restarted. If successful you'll see the Sony Xperia logo. I quickly connected it to the charger once I saw the Sony logo on the screen. 1% was the remaining battery charge It both happened to my z1 and z ultra. And I noticed that the chances of the red blinking will happen is when you constantly let your xperia phone battery drain to 10%. Btw both phones are still working to this day
@@evann9585 so if it is hardware, maybe replace the charging module, bot sure if it is possible, or maybe try flash CPU, some smartphones require that, and its not easy.

They tell you they replaced the motherboard because they replaced the device. They didn't inspect it beyond "Yes, we can cover it under warranty". If you get anything fixed under manufacturer warranty, they will always "replace the motherboard" lol Hope you erased your data before sending the device away :)

It doesn't work for my XZ1. It only shows 🛠 and then charging sign . It looks like all the buttons are dead but I don't think it's a hardware problem.

tried that but when i choose to repair using sony companion it says cannot repair because bootloader is unlocked

Try take back cover off, and unplug battery for 1min. It may by battery is dead or conector from battery is unplug, or MB is dead.

This error is, that the baterry has 0 Volts or is not connected....
mine responds to the power button it starting blinking for a while but now its not lighting up at all. it doesnt take the charger.

If you read the video description. I took it to a Sony service center and they had to replace the motherboard under warranty.
Its not always the battery. My Xperia M5 died too. Just red LED. I replaced the battery. Doesn't work.
They tell you they replaced the motherboard because they replaced the device. They didn't inspect it beyond "Yes, we can cover it under warranty". If you get anything fixed under manufacturer warranty, they will always "replace the motherboard" lol
