I just made made my first paracord sling tonight. Solid pouch. Did not measure anthing lol just measured it from end of loop to knot. It is 48" 49 counting the tag end of paracord. Looking forward to trying it out. Glad I found your site :)
I'm learning so much from all your videos over the past weeks ,and in this one years 😅. I didn't realise you could adjust the pouch size on the smiling sling so easily from small to larger objects , thanks from the UK.
honestly, I got 'youtube algorythumed' into watching this, and I must say I very seriously am looking at your ACU 48 inch on Etsy right now, I have very little interest in slinging (before this vid) but your personality and salesmanship are so good, I almost feel I want to reward them alone. (and possibly pick up a practical/primitive hobby to boot.
Hoping to get myself one of these soon ! Your videos are awesome! Me and my son watch Atleast 2 videos every weekend night he’s with me. You’re slowly becoming my 8 year olds hero !
I've been watching these vids a bit now. I can only imagine that on that day when David fought Goliath. The bible says that David took five smooth stones from the river before battle. Goliath had four brothers.. love watching your channel, would like to make a sling so I'm trying to learn what I can. Keep up the good work.
I sling with my home made leather split pocket with leather laces. 60". I sling small and large. I just use differant slinging techniques for size stone. Oversize stone greek over hand. Small rocks spartan side arm throw. It works great all the time. So you are correct 60" can sling all size stone. I just xhange it up like in Baseball. By the way, I sling just as well left hand as right handed... Put that in your pipe and smoke it...
Have you tried slinging a cestrosedone dart? Those are wicked mean and they have spectacular range. And the skill is almost transferrable from regular stones. In fact the longest distance an object has been thrown by a sling is a cestro dart.
I'm looking to use slings as ball throwers for playing fetch. I'd use the short sling for balls meant for small dogs, and a long sling for balls meant for large dogs.
I just bought my first sling, haven't had a chance to try it yet. Do you have a website where you sell them? I'm not super interested in making my own. Just taking a new hobby to kill some time and learn a new skillm
im a engineer.. i can assure you that big sling with big rock has enough energy to penetrate skull ... even with helmet on..it will still stun you with a sever brain damage..that velocity.... that velocity is the scary part..
Thank You. The one question I have is about how big the pouch should average? If it’s in another video I will get to it. I’m making Balaeric style as they are easier to make.
I made my sheppard sling for the first time. The length is 6ft. but I messed up on my finger holes. The finger holes are too far apart from the knot I’ll be releasing. What should I do
I am very new to slinging, can you tell me why you put so much effort into hitting a target with small stones as you do with large stones from just 10 meters, if all you are trying to do is hit the target.
Could you do a paracord vs jute or hemp or flax video? I'm 100% buying a smiley sling or 6. Better than anything else on the market at that price. Can you do a how to video? Try sending a sling scholargladitoria or skallogrim on RUclips
What sling do you suggest I use for this video? I'm working on a 1 on 1 live instructional video on my sight practicalparacord.com so that you can know all the little techniques that make them perfect from me.
@@PracticalParacord I'd say a 36 inch is perfect and maybe try that heavy duty sling made from the extra thick paracord. For a beginner the sling needs to have weight and not be prone to twisting up. That is what I learned from teaching my cousin. every part of the body has to move in a certain way to get the best results in a kick or punch and if you go over slow motion videos of slinging with someone it will be easier to show where the pouch need to be and how the arm needs to move to launch a stone just right. My karate teacher would do every kick in slow motion to show us how to move every part of our bodies as we kicked to get the most force.
I'm curious of what you think of what I would call, the figure 8 motion. My bad Idk what it's called. But I've watched some videos of slingers claiming they get way better accuracy with that motion! Swinging from your right side to your left and timing the throw and throwing over the top. And do you suppose that's more of a rhythm thing? One more question. Which finger do you loop?
if you throw 3/4 its the same as figure 8 . fig 8 is 3/4 without the spin so yes i like the angle and think its accurate. Me personally and how smiling slings are made its index and pointer fingers, same fingers you would use to throw a fastball.
I'm working on a 1 on 1 live instructional video on my sight practicalparacord.com so that you can know all the little techniques that make them perfect from me.
So is it just the material or are you throwing these things way faster than they’re supposed to be able to go because it sounds like you’re breaking the sound barrier which should not be possible
Hi, I’d like a sling please? Are you able to ship to the U.K.? I’m thinking the 60’’ mil green and black camo, as a vet I love this colour, it’s in my blood! As a secondary colour, how about something bright? Lime green maybe? I spend my time camping and backpacking. Learning to use the sling of an evening, will be good fun? Thank you
Are you measuring your sling length folded up from tip of thumb to end of pouch? There is no way you are 120 inches tall if 60 inches comes to your chest.
I just made made my first paracord sling tonight. Solid pouch. Did not measure anthing lol just measured it from end of loop to knot. It is 48" 49 counting the tag end of paracord. Looking forward to trying it out. Glad I found your site :)

You know I honestly did not expect a guy from what I am expecting is Louisiana to be the guy making a bunch of slings I am pleasantly surprised

Great man I love hearing of new slingers. You can purchase 1 from my website www.practicalparacord.com/
Nice vid man.. Sometime i watch you vids to get an motivated...
Of all the slings you showed where would I find any or all of them to purchase?
Which sling should I get according to this video...answer: both lol They both look like alot of fun
I always recommend a 48 inch. Smiling Sling for beginners.
im a engineer.. i can assure you that big sling with big rock has enough energy to penetrate skull ... even with helmet on..it will still stun you with a sever brain damage..that velocity.... that velocity is the scary part..
That’s why my theory on the moral of David and Goliath is to always bring a gun to a knife fight
In ancient times, they use lead for ammunition with a football-shaped projectile for aerodynamics
No engineer would ever have such poor syntax.
Thank You. The one question I have is about how big the pouch should average? If it’s in another video I will get to it. I’m making Balaeric style as they are easier to make.
Good question! About 6 inches
@@PracticalParacord thank you
Any pointers on the relationship between rock and pocket sizes?
I cut three slits in my pouch, which makes the projectile sit better in the pouch
Goes to show just how important selecting the right ammunition is for the right sling and getting to know your sling is.
Good man. Good videos. Great accent.
Can you show up close how to hold the ends. Im sure that its pretty important
will do next vid bro.
@@PracticalParacord well hell yeah
