These episodes with Nethercutt cars are great fun
Looks like a nice, practical, comfy $20 million daily driver.
More than $20mil
Life isn’t always about practical or daily driver. Sometimes it’s just nice to have nice things.
One of 14. That’s even fewer than the number of 250 GTO’s. Seems it would easily be worth more than 20 million.
For years didn’t know what model it was. Then found out there’s only 14 that were made.
Wonder where the others are and what the original colors were. There’s pics of a one that’s white on the net. My favorite Ferrari color and possibly my favorite model along with the 288 GTO
😂😂. Good one!!
Such a beautiful car .
Hope you are recovering quickly Jay.
RIP Jay Leno. ❤️
The show must go on :)
@@DoctorSkillz Rest in peace? He’s not dead….
He did a comedy show last night in LA. Looked great.
@@DoctorSkillz Troll
I just watched the video of Jay getting out of the hospital. What a bloody gentleman. I've had over 20 surgeries since my bike accident and never been that plate to anybody . He's even kind to the paparazzi. Love this dude, wish I could go down and see that garage of his. Least I can still watch them every week.
I hope you are recovering well and healthy. My friend I remember being a kid and spotting you on a Shelby cobra 🐍 back in the day ….. man was that a happy moment in my life as a kid . My cousins , my brother and I were mind blown and not so much because of the car but because we spotted Jay !!! Man you waived hi 👋🏼 and took off . I hope you have a good and speedy recovery my friend , we all need you back soon .
Hello Jay. I just wanted to wish you all the best, and hope you get well soon. Thank you for all the fun, laughter and entertainment you've brought to us all throughout the years!
He's still with us Ben, relax :p
@@CellarDoorCSI guess he should wait until Jay is dead to say something nice about him.
@@CellarDoorCS : LOL you should have read my original post before I edited down. LOL!
Jay, these videos mean so much to so many people. We look forward to them every week! Thanks for doing them. They are the best thing on RUclips.
They certainly do...
Glad you are back at it Jay!! Each video is a lesson in automotive history.
Filmed before he was burned
Amazing Ferrari. Its truly art on wheels.
Hope you’re feeling better Jay! 🙏🏼
No great enthusiast of Ferrari except the ones that look like cars. Modern ones just look like a wedge of Red Leicester cheese. Been loving your Ytube since I hooked in during original covid back in the day. Just a great show and just a great enthusiastic car guy. Get well soon Mr Leno. Good speed in your recovery.
This video needs to be about 10 minutes longer. Just the car sitting there with the engine running.
I agree! An extra 5 minutes at the beginning just looking at that gorgeous engine would be heaven!
So happy you recovered quickly.
All the best!
Thank you once again, Jay! Most of us would never get this close to these beautiful machines without your generosity.
I'm glad Cameron mentioned Ferris Beuhler, because I thought that was the same car from the movie. Just spectacular. Glad they didn't "wreck" this one. Hope all's going well in your recovery Jay, and you are up and about real soon.
Not the same car rather has the same name. The movie car was a replica of a 250 GT California SWB Sypder.
Thankfully, they didn't wreck a real Ferrari in the movie.
@@christopherg9806 I did not know that when I first saw the movie and almost got a heart attack...😁😁
The movie car was a datsun 240z with a fiberglass replica body that was for sale to the public. 60s Fararris were waaaay too rare back then for the movie to buy and wreck.
Howe jersey #9
Glad to hear that you are recovering well Jay! Thank you for all you do.
Get well soon
Cameron is a consistently excellent guest. I am pleasantly surprised, once again, with the content Jay is releasing right now. It's like he's dropping gifts while he's recuperating. Glad he's on the mend.
Too bad it wasn't Cameron from Ferris Bueller's Day Off! Lol
@@RCCrawlerz209 He could have been in the back. But it would have made guest Cameron Mia Sara and that would be....very ucky.
@@bbb462cid of course. Lol
A real beautiful car. I'm with Jay much more Desirable than a "super car" . 100% of my driving is on public roads no need to break land speed records. Fun spirited driving and rewarding handling that is all that is required and of course listening to that great music from the exhaust as the breeze swirls about you.
Saw Jay on the news today he looks to be in good shape and of course good humor God bless.
My wife and I took a trip to the Nethercutt collection last Sunday and saw this beauty in person. What a magnificent machine. And the collection in general is something to behold. If you get the chance, go. Oh and it's free.
That, and a few other places is the ONLY reason I'd visit California. No thanks 😂
@@guytansbariva2295 why? California is beautiful!
@@limericklad2000 The outdoors are beautiful, but not so much the cities. High crime, horrible traffic, super high prices, homeless camps and people at every intersection, weak on crime politics, no water, etc etc.
I lived in Southern Cali in the 90's, and back then, YES, it was the place to be. Not anymore. No wonder news says Cali has the highest number of people moving away. Just don't come my way please.
It is just a very beautiful work of art. To sit in or drive one would be the experience of a lifetime. Thank you so much for sharing these cars with us. I hope you have a quick and full recovery very soon.
Thanks again for another great start to the week Jay! Happy to hear you’re on the way to making a full recovery!!
What a beautiful car . . .
Hope you are feeling better Jay. Cant tell you how much enjoyment you’ve given me over the years, from the tonight show, to frequently watching this show with my dad. Absolutely stunning car, nothing like a colombo v12.
Hi Jay. Hope your recovery is going well. Many greetings from Belgium
very clean classic
That’s the most beautiful car I’ve ever seen!
I owned a loaded 63 split window 340 hp and it was a dream to drive. The 360 had a lumpy cam and carburetor that poured in fuel like the gas pump. The 300 and 340's were quick smooth, and sounded great. They were a joy to drive quickly and even fast. I found i could drive her all day. This Ferrari brings everything to the next level.
Jay we all wish you well and a pain free recovery.
Incredibly beautiful! Thank you so much for presenting such an exquisite car. Hope that you are recovering nicely. So sorry to hear of you accident.
Those round panels in the nose are pop-up fog-lamps. Interesting feature.
Jay, first, I'm happy to read that you are out of the hospital & back driving on the street--and a Mercedes-Benz is a great choice to do that. :) Second, the Nethercutt Museum has always brought great cars to your show--please keep bringing them back. :)
Get well soon!
You should make a video about some Diesel motorcycles like the Royal Enfield Taurus. Diesel bikes are way to unknown
It's really cool seeing a car I have never seen or knew of and will never see again going down the road with Jay behind the wheel!
Ferris Bueller’s day off
12:35 After he says, "One of the best cars ever built;" Jay's immediate silence that follows says everything you need to know about how Jay feels regarding that matter!
Was happy to hear you were out and on stage again last night Jay. Very nice Ferrari Cameron now straight home ya hear!
Cheers all. 🇨🇦
booo
@@allentoyokawa9068 forget that Jay was ever going to be a success cause odds were when he was young that was not the case.
Jay's dad was a boxer, a good one, and Jay learned in his world that hard work and hard knocks are part of winning. Period. Jay is a tough friggin customer aside from any fame or money he now has. His fortune is all going to charity when Mavis and Jay are gone. Who the heck else do you know that is doing that. So Booo ok funny but far off the mark cause Jay is the real deal.
Cheers 🇨🇦
Jay, Great to see you back again doing what you love and bringing us Great Pleasure, best wishes to yourself, family, friends, team, contributors, fellow viewer's.
this was before the incident
I believe this was recorded before the accident.
Hmm. What gives you that impression?
Just a stunning car, no other word I can come up with. Wish you the best in your continuing recovery Jay.
It's as smooth as buttered silk.
Multi-million dollar car. Asked about the displacement "...I don know..." I'm just the president of the collection. Seems like royalty is alive and well.
Sorry they didn’t mention that Tom Tjaarda designed it. He did many great designs. The Fiat 124 and DeTomaso’s Pantera are his.
The Pantera is still one of the prettiest exotics ever made.
Thought of the 124 spider also. Didn't realize that was Tjaarda (how is his name pronounced?), had assumed this car was Fioravanti.
The rear of the Panoz Esperante is reminiscent of this car, pity the front isn't also 🤔.
The Pantera really has stood the test of time. Clean lines, perfectly tensioned. The wedge era done right. Makes the Countach look overdone (OK, that was the point, I get it). Later flares, wings and grating were awful, same for the countach.
Tjaarda deserves more credit, Gandini is my favorite but I like Tjaarda better than Giugaro.
Like many I cried when that car launched through the glass window and fell to the ground. Yes I know it wasn't a real Ferrari it was the idea! #FerrisBuellersDayOff
Royalty indeed........what a beauty.
All my friends and my family’s was shocked today when I open my new house and I bought a brand new car 🚘 into my new house 🏡 all the money I use in doing this came from Mrs Ellie white, she change my life for good I’m so grateful ma'am💰❤️💯
@CarinaZampiniFanClub You're right
Still don't know why people remain poor due to ignorance
people are really making a lot of money from it.....
@Ruben Bosman wow!! you know her too?
@Sean Long She has made success easier than we thought,
Lol all the driving cuts it looked like they were on their way to Mexico not just taking it around the block
Beautiful car. One of my favorite Ferraris. Perfect color for it. This and the Dino are my 2 favorites. I've seen some short reports on your recovery Jay. So glad that you're doing well.
Automotive paradise.
Looking at this car, you can tell that Enzo liked the Jaguar E=Type.
BTW - I'm very glad Jay is recovering well from the fire. However, this does give him the chance to have his advertisement say, "Jay is back, and hotter than ever".
Road trip!! Cannonball!! What a gorgeous car. Needs a little louder exhaust...
Very nice. Good to see you are on the mend Jay, love these videos.
Really puts the "Daytona" into perspective. These cars replaced the SuperAmerica line. I'd love to hear it at around 7000 rpm...
Get Well soon Jay👍🏼💪💪
"Once again being visited by automotive royalty"... I would have SWORN he was introducing Cameron.
Jay always gets the most fascinating cars. Perhaps the most beautiful Ferrari they produced
"....the first rule of Italian driving. What's behind me is not important."
-- Canonball Run (1976)
Retail in 1967 was $20k; 55 years later, equivalent to $167,227. I was only 8 at the time with zero income, so I passed. However, and not to brag, but I was heavily invested in Matchbox cars at the time amassing quite a collection.
WoW what a clean car. Style wise. Just beautiful.
What a gorgeous car, so cool to see it. Love Jay saying that something from 1967 is not old haha. It's only 55 years old that's nothing.
Saying an F40 is one of the best cars ever built is like saying a YOO-HOO is one the best drinks ever made.
I've heard some of these old ferraris have a tendency to catch fire!
What a beauty. Named for the state where it belongs. Would've been fun to see those unique popup lights. Keep them coming!
Great video thanks. Rear end reminds me of a Tom Tjaarda design. Corvette Rondine and Fiat 124 Spider.
Fairly sure this was indeed penned by Mr Tjaarda
That chrome accent and scoop on the door look so great! I'm sure that added alot of frustration to the build process but we'll worth it!
Cameron hit it on the head with the Ferris reference..........I was thinking a little bit softer version of the original "Miami Vice" car
A proper ferrari. I do not like the modern cars that seem 10 feet wide. I will always make an exception for a Miura, which is wide but nice.
I've seen one driving on the highway in the Boston MA area on 95. Last October, I almost lost it. Never have been more terrified about keeping my car in it's lane before
Jay Leno really needs to have a Ferrari Mondial on the show because he always say's the reason he doesn't have a Ferrari is because they make you buy 2 Mondials before getting what you want. Mondials are amazing Ferraris Jay! You should invite someone with a nice Mondial to do a review.
Is it just me or does it really look like a Jaguar E Type from the front? I remember Enzo Ferrari was a big fan of the E Type, calling it one of the prettiest cars ever made
the trust fund baby has no personality....
67 was the last year that covered headlights were legal in the US. Lovely car. Thanks.
I've been to the Nethercut. Amazing place. I hope you do something like he did with your collection to save it after your gone. Harrah and Behring didn't and what's left for us to see is sad compared to what they used to have.
Thanks Jay
Hope you get better soon.
such a work of art - about the perfect GT car
I truly pray jay makes a full and speedy recovery. I was devastated when I heard the bad news. Sending positive thoughts and well wishes to u jay, get better soon we all miss u dearly
In the 80's, I worked in a Seattle parking garage that was a lease arraignment. One of the tenants stored 9 Ferraris with us, year-round. My job on Sunday evening was to start and drive those cars, along with some Porsches. One of them was a 365 Cali Spyder. I would drive the cars around inside the empty, 100 car garage. Had a track.
I heard in the 90's he went to jail for coke and sold the 365 to a for 1 million plus.
so happy to see you back in action Jay, you know I used to work right next to the airport back in 2007 and I would be driving behind you all the time in the morning. we love you man, hope you make a full recovery.
He's not back in action, this was filmed before his burn accident. Still undergoing surgeries and skin grafts.
@@kevinfleming9919 He did a stand up show Sunday night so I'd say he's back in action. But you're right this episode is from before his accident.
@Larry N was talking about filming new Garage episodes.
One of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen 😍
Whoa. This was my fantasy car when I first saw it in a coffee table book on Ferraris in the 80's. I saw the real deal in Paris a few years ago.
WOW
Beautiful car, but now I have to get in my 2006 Ford five hundred and pick up my Grandkids from school..
Very glad to hear Jay's recovery is going good and he was released from the hospital. Good luck Jay. Thank you, John
Always the highlight of my grey British day. Thanks Jay!
Thank You Jay! You've shown the rest of us how to handle a true challenge. You are a gentleman of character. I am eagerly awaiting you return! Get well soon, Sir!
Like when he screwed Conan over?
@@xploration1437
Only if you believe baloney trumps the truth. Conan didn’t get screwed over by anyone in that deal. It’s just business and he’s still richer than he deserves.
@@fishhuntadventure that’s why Conan only had the show for like a month? Baby Jay had to get his way and cry. Conan has more comedy in one of his dumps than Jay ever will.
I love how everyone is wishing Jay well... to see so many people mourning the injuries he sustained it miraculous. In a day where if a president died, half the country would rejoice, or there are certain people tainted with turmoil, it is amazing to see someone like jay that everyone respects
Jay has to stay out of the sun for about a year or more. He's got baby new skin. No joke either.
Well what i say, you can tell that Jay is really happy cruising with Cameron, and when you are cruising in the creme de la creme, ah man it just looks so glorious. Also i have to say, in all the many car reviews Jay has done, it seems that this particular car has impressed him more than most of the others. Thanx Jay, stay safe man.
It’s as though Ferrari saw the Jag XKE and said, “heyyy”.
When I was a kid, I just couldn't understand why anyone preferred Ferraris over E-Types. To this day I like to hear which cars kids prefer because brands don't impress them
GTOs beat E-types.
Jay should feature more ultra rare cars like this in his show, as most of these ultra rare cars are in museums as show piece, to see one being driven is so amazing.
Hope you are recovering as best as possible Jay!
What a car...just wow.
Interesting how Pininfarina incorporated their interpretation of styling elements typical in late 1960's American convertibles from Cadillac, Ford and Chrysler.
Ferrari famously said '' aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines''
Thanks again, Jay and crew! I always enjoy a visit from the Nethercutt! That Ferrari is the nicest, most expensive commuter car of all time!😂 Hope you're recovering well, Jay, and good wishes! Take it easy, and have a merry Christmas! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
Awesome car, one of my favorite Ferrari designs. Still, I always wondered about oil changes with those upside down filters, when they weren't cartridge filter assemblies like they use for similar arrangements on current production cars. Seems it would have been a nightmarish mess unscrewing the filters.
There's usually a trick involving some ziploc bags...and lots of shop towels.
They drain with gravity from the pan. The you can remove it them but you'll still get some oil on stuff. Ferrari's we're designed off the track cars they represented and the filter location was easiest for pit members to access during endurance races.
Superlative car but more importantly,
so glad Jay is out of the hospital.
Jay is a national treasure, far more worthy than any car.
Wishing you all the best Mr. Leno. I’ve truly enjoyed all of your videos over the years. I’ve learned so much watching this channel. Keep up the great work!
I thought they filmed these weekly? This was filmed before Jays incident? I'm so confused... anyone have any insight?
Edit: Jay man get better, watched you my whole life
Pre Recorded
They always have unseen episodes in reserve just in case. Jays a pro at this stuff he's been doing it all his life. Best in the business.
$28,000 in 1967, adjusted for inflation, equals $250,000 today, so this was always a VERY expensive car.
pininfarina only made beautiful cars? Have a look at the Hyunday Matrix sir.
Wow. This could be best described as genuine art on sport wheels..., gorgeously crafted. Quintessential would a proper word to illustrate its design. And only 14 made like these out of the 365 platform? Wow. Wonderful, just wonderful. Thank you so much from the heart showing this 🥰
What a beautiful car and so nice to see/hear it out on the road! I had the chance to see it in person at the Nethercutt some years back. Be well Jay, sounds like you are well on your way to a full recovery.
Jay, we hope you are well and recovering. Can’t wait to see you better and in your garage again working on your collection. To the Nethercutt collection, thank you for bringing these amazing vehicles for Jay to review.
That's a beautiful Ferrari! Great curves on the body from Pinin Ferina, like a beautiful curvy woman. This is the first one I've seen with a booted shifter instead of gated. The engine sounds great. I'm glad to see Jay is recovering quickly, and has already been seen out and about with his own classic cars.
Thank you! Jay.
Another feather in your Cap, what a Fabulous Work of Art!
Congratulations, you bring as joy .
