I love how Final Fantasy X has zero people that fall into the middle. It's often regarded as one of the greatest Final Fantasy games by the vast majority of players, but the people who disagree? They REALLY dislike the game. There never seems to be much of a middle ground, but welcome to the world of fandoms. For me personally? X wasn't my introduction to the franchise, but it was certainly my introduction to unhealthy obsession. No game has ever carried such a story that I was completely enveloped, I felt emotionally invested in the Tidus story (regardless of how I felt for him). The ending with Jecht was enough to bring tears to the eyes. I loved the summoning system, the overdrives, the return to traditional turn based tactics, and even Blitzball. The only thing I disliked was that damned Yunalesca fight and having to go through the cutscene a million times. Also ... May I just say -- LOVE Seymour, but fuck that Gagazet fight.

FFX was the game that introduced me to the concept of RPG games - I'd exclusively played driving, real time strategy and platformers through the mega drive and playstation eras. It was a revelation for me. It inspired me to go back and discover the older games as well. FFXII was a very different but an experience I adored. FFXIII - its okay but yeah, very problematic and I found no replay value or nostalgia for it at all after finishing Very nice book though - thanks for sharing
Everyone has their favorites in the Final Fantasy series. It's always fun to hear which games people like and don't like. The book is nice to flip though.
Took 2.5 play throughs to love X. The game was way overhyped for me. Replaying the game with the context of the full story made it a much better experience. If they had moved the plot twists closer to the first half of the game I would have liked it a lot more originally.

A game can do that sometimes. I've thought about going back to give it another try.
X was hands down the best final fantasy ever made
I really didn't enjoy it. It's probably because I have more memories from the earlier games in the series.
