    would you say that 7-simul flip has sub-5 potential (any variation)? i know its possible (jaiden lin for example) but what's your thoughts on it?

    • @tobyseufert
      @tobyseufert  Месяц назад +1

      hey eli, sorry i'm late but to answer your question I think all variations of 7simul can be done with a sub 5 global pretty easily (1-2 months of practice). as for my thoughts on it I personally think doing standard 7simul makes a lot more sense than 7simul flip because if you get good at pinky turning you can eliminate the room for error that occurs from the flip in the middle. good luck and see you soon!

    4:40 if you do this shouldn’t you do Oxford memo? Where you memorize the position a piece needs to go rather than how much you need to turn it

    • @tobyseufert
      @tobyseufert  4 месяца назад

      I think I just explained it kinda poorly, I wasn't referring to memo, what I meant was whenever you're doing a turn, rather than counting the ticks as you're doing the turn, just look where it needs to end up and do it in one quick motion.

    • @benbaron8951
      @benbaron8951 4 месяца назад

      @@tobyseufert yeah I got that (and tbh I do that too), but if you're gonna do that mental calculation I feel like you might as well do oxford memo where you do that calculation in advance. I haven't tried oxford yet myself but I feel like it should be easier

    yo toby question, would really appreciate if you answered. ive been scrambling bld now for a few days, but i seem to misscramble at least 80% of the times, its really frustrating. im a sub 7 7sf user, so im not a beginner, i want to be scrambling bld, but the misscrambles are so frustrating. in fact, if i just look at the pin and where it needs to go, avert my eyes, and execute it, 90% of the time, its gonna be correct. but when im scrambling fully bld, im like "shit, did i do x move correctly" im kinda lost, and instead of doing confident full turns, i half turn half count my ticks, its kinda embarassing. any tips to improve bld scrambling? would really appreciate it, thank you.

    • @tobyseufert
      @tobyseufert  3 месяца назад

      I think it sounds like some of your moves are maybe more accurate than others. So if you can pinpoint which move is causing your misscrambles the most, you should be able to focus on that one by doing something like this: Decide on a random amount of ticks (4 for example) then look away and just do it. If it's wrong, try putting a bit less or more force into the move until you get it right and then repeat the process. That's the best I can think of for now, so hope it helps!

    For me, numbers are way easier to memo. I memo 5 of them (i just solve the 3rd one) ,and have a special word for neg numbers like -5 is sev, -4 is 8, -3 is 9, -2 is 10, and -1 is el. Its way easier for me. I just couldnt do it with letters

    • @tobyseufert
      @tobyseufert  4 месяца назад

      Not really, but what you want to do is take the clock apart and get something like a gan 11 screw driver, then try (it's quite difficult so it might take a bit) to pop the two parts of the pins apart. Then get the magnet and flip it and pop them back together then repeat for all 4 pins.
