I have just gotten on to simmer pots. I also use diffusers, but this summer at the cottage I started using a simmer pot. LOVE it. Now I’m going to make my own potpourri!! You definitely “needed” that vintage simmer pot! 😜🇨🇦
Great find on Yorktowne Pfaltzgraff! I’ve been collecting this pattern for years and don’t have the ‘Salt’ piece! FYI, if you have a Pfaltzgraff piece that’s missing a part, you can order the missing piece. :)
Don’t give up on the potpourri crock just yet. I use a small crockpot for my simmer pot and I usually have it up in high for a couple hours then turn it down. Otherwise it takes forever to smell it. Maybe if you put everything in a pot and bring it to a boil first and then transfer it to the crockpot it would work. You said you bring the copper pot to a boil first then to simmer - same idea. Let us know if you try that and if it makes a difference.

I would use the simmer crock pot as a planter. You can cut the cord off !

Hello Jenn, So glad I found your channel. I am a Rochester, NY gal, UB grad, now living in rural Maine. No Wegmans or Aldi, one Trader Joe's 3 hours away. Imagine! Two local thrift shops disappointing. Nearest big city is 80 miles away. I cherish decorating my mom's hutch. She had only 2 place settings of her 1952 wedding china. A best friend in Rochester thrifted over a dozen pieces for me.Amazing! Looking forward to your videos and the Western NY connection. I've met two Buffalo transplants here. Go Bills!

Love your new finds! All the new white pieces and baskets are fabulous, and the peg rack is super cute and handy! I especially love the potpourri crock ~ but so sorry it didn’t work out so great 😟 Maybe if you get the water boiling in different pan, and then transfer to the prewarmed crockpot … ?? 🤷♀ Worth a try, because it is so cute and nostalgic.
Hey, do you know your brother likes thrifting too? Gets a lot of his clothes that way (& you know how dapper and spiffy he always looks 😉😊). You two should go to Savers together while he’s home ~ might be a fun thing to do together! ☺
It must run in the family. 😉 That’s a good idea to transfer it to the pot. I don’t think it gets hot enough. Maybe it’s just me. lol!😫 Yes! I’ll have to take him to Savers while he’s visiting! He’d love it!

I love thrifting!! Maybe you can use some boiled water and then add it to the potpourri warmer with the ingredients then keep the lid off of it??? It is so nostalgic! If it really doesn’t work well maybe put a candle in it and use it as a holder? Love your channel!!!!

Is there a product to use to give dried out old baskets a more supple moisturized look? Maybe linseed oil?

Thanks! Kitty loves his chair. I found this chair years ago on clearance at HomeGoods for $35! When kitty isn’t on it it’s one of my favorite little corners to come and sit. 😉
Everything looks lovely. The white Pfaltzgraff pieces are the Heritage pattern. I had service for 12, canisters, tureen, serving pcs, coffee pot and the sugar and creamer you have. It is heavy and durable and as I got older, emptying the dishwasher and putting things in upper cabinets was a chore. I loved it because it went with any colored table linens. You had some great finds. Too bad about the simmer pot. Love your videos.😊

It really hit home when you spoke about your Mom collecting the little stamps and pasting them in the coupon book.
I am from Oregon, and we had the S & H Green Stamps.
Mom would let us kids fill up the books to help buy Christmas presents.
It was so much fun to go through the gift catalog and walk up to the redemption store to pick out gifts.

My favorite piece that you found is the large basket. Baskets are so expensive and really hard to find one that’s the tight size and shape. Great find!!

Oh my goodness that day was your day for sure. I got just excited as you did for all the beautiful finds that you bought. I would had bought all of that as well as thats how I decorate my home. I did get ideas, matter of fact had to get me a pen and pad and wrote it all down. Loved your decorating with your nice pieces.

I had the same experiences! I tried to use a small crockpot for my simmer and never smelled it so I stick to the stovetop method! Always works:)
I’m glad I’m not the only one! It’s such a cute concept in the little crockpot but you can barely smell it. The stove method works a lot better.

Thank you! I use cinnamon sticks, lemon, and springs of rosemary. In the fall I simmer leftover apple cider ( I also freeze it too so I can use in simmer pots) along with apple and orange slices. I also like to use mulling spices too. It smells so good!

I have an awful time selecting items to purchase. And it is not always money. But I am trying to purge and every time I drop stuff off …. I go shopping in the thrift store. 😂. Not a smart way to purge. 😳

Sorry your little crockpot didn’t work out! I have one very similar and have used it for over 30 years, and I love it! My crock insert does remove from base, which makes it nicer for cleaning. Got this at Traders World flea market near Cincinnati, and has been one of my favorite memories picked up on a vacation while visiting in the States! 🇨🇦
