Is it only possible to replace your battery when it’s below 80% or can you get it earlier, like for example when your Apple care + is running out und you want a fresh 100% battery capacity.
It depends on if you are trying to get it done for free under the warranty or not, as long as the device is not considered obsolete (or vintage in some cases... see apple article HT201624) then anyone can pay apple for the out of warranty battery replacement fee which is usually arround 50 dollars (USA price) for most portable devices (some exceptions apply such as apple watch). @@macmost @Leticia there is a loophole, if the device works enough for the remote diagnostics to run, you can buy it online or over the phone with apple support (you'd just have to lie to them), granted it has to pass said diagnostics but the diagnostics is software level and only checks if the hardware components are there and working (ie it cannot tell you cracked the front or rear glass) but the touchscreen has to work just enough for you to start the diagnostics.
Very good explanation, thanks, but there is more to know about telephone support. AppleCare allows you to get 24-hour support whereas without it you have you have to call during specified business hours. Calling after business hours means you might be talking to a technical support person anywhere in the world, for example, if you’re near the U.S. west coast at midnight the tech rep might be in Australia, Tasmania, or New Zealand. If the device has AppleCare and you’re using it with another device that does not have it, for example an old Apple TV or an Apple router, you will still get patient, excellent 24-hour help with those old devices, especially if you can connect to the internet and you allow screen sharing so that the rep can show you where to click with their remote pointer. Some people disparage Apple products for their premium cost but unlike other brands the Apple user is getting great lifetime support.

Are people really dumb or do they have cash ready to burn? I mean I would understand if you would want to show off your unique android devices like the Mc Laren 7t pro. But a generic iPhone lmao.
Sam bayeh “A unique Android device” bro all Android phones look the same, with slightly different looking cameras. Nothing unique about an Android phone. The 7t Pro looks like any other Android device lmao
So the support calls is portrayed basically as something you would only get for 90 or only if you have apple care plus but really anyone can use it for as long as they use apple? Is that what you meant to say?
Not sure what you are referring to. If something is not working, you can always go to the Genius Bar. If something is broken, you can always call Apple for help. But things above "not working" need AppleCare for support. I think that is what you mean. Not sure where the line is, but that is not why people buy AppleCare, really.
Freaking iPad pro 11 2018 which I bought a year ago is already messing up and shutting off by itself. Supposedly the battery is degrading hahaha , seriously fucking expensive devices and it already is malfunctioning..... Warranty expired already...should I get the apple care ? Or can I actually get it and get the battery replaced ? Thx
Most likely you pay the fee and they put in a new screen. But you'd have to go to the Genius Bar and start the service request to find out for your specific situation.
front screen only damage is ineligible for Express replacement service (although some of the apple support advisors don't know what they are doing and offer it anyway) but if there is any extra damage (say the camera or back glass is damaged too) then say so and you can get the express replacement service... in some cases it might be worth it (to not go without the phone while it is getting repaired) to further damage the device so you can get the replacement. Please note that carry in service replacements are done at the discretion of the techs at the service provider you go to and can also be subject to parts availablity.

Hello, I would like to buy a 14" MacBook pro but the benefits of the AppleCare Protection Plan are not very clear. Does the AppleCare Protection Plan add three years of warranty to the traditional two years (i.e. five years of warranty) or does it add one year to the traditional two years (i.e. three years of warranty). If it is the second answer, 249 € per year of warranty is not cheap! Thank you in advance for your answer :)
It depends on which product and which country you are in. Many plans are more than a simple warranty. Plus you are paying for low-hassle and quick turn-arounds, which "warranties" don't usually provide. Read up on it when you go to purchase.
AppleCare just extends your limited warranty. AppleCare+, however, extends your limited warranty and also includes upto 2 incidents of accidental damage subject to a service fee.

So I cracked my camera on my iPhone 12 it’s $100 for accidental damage and $30 for the screen. So if I cracked the screen would they overlook the camera so I can only pay $30?
That only protects one aspect (the screen) and in many cases does much more damage than anything else (don't close a MacBook with anything on the screen or keyboard at all!)
Absolutely useless for us Europeans. We have 1 year Apple warranty + EU 1 Year warraty. So, if you buying a €359 Apple warranty (which is for 3 years) for a Mac pro, you are basically paying €359 for just 1 year. Also, the chances you break a Mac are way slimmer than e.g. an iPhone or Airpods. I used my first 2009 white Macbook for 8 years ! Nothing happened. However, my Airpods 1 had battery issues after just 1 year.
you are not correct, in EU you have 2 years consumer warranty by law. However that not contains accidental damage or battery replacement... Apple care is different than apple care+
I am stuck on what to do, I have AppleCare+ on my iPhone SE 2020, Apple Watch SE 40mm and my AirPods Pro, solely because they see a lot of use, and they go everywhere with me, however I have now got the M1 MacBook Air and I am stuck on whether to drop £230 on Applecare+ for it, Which is more than 20% of the cost of the MacBook, I'm not sure because my Mac really doesn't go anywhere, I'm careful with drinks and never have coffee or anything near it, it purely just sits at my desk, and when I do go somewhere I put it in my nice plush sleeve, I will soon be at University, and it looks like there is still a majority of online learning, which means I won't be taking out much, so not sure what to do. Remember £230 is a lot a lot of money for essentially 'What if' considering the cost of the MacBook off the bat. :/
I’m in the exact same situation! Just bought the m1 air yesterday and can’t decide whether or not to buy the AC+. I’ve never bought it for any of my phones. @@benedictcaalim6836 There is nothing to pay for. If you wanted to extend your AppleCare warranty, you should have done that when you first bought it. But ask Apple as it may be different in your location. But even if you can extend AppleCare, you don't NEED to do it. That is up to you.
I have ocd and apple care helps me with that
Just yesterday i literally cried cuz i cant figure out if i damaged my new ipad mini 6 or not, i cant believe i would do that but i did.
How do you pay the monthly plan I need to know
It is probably taken from your credit card each month.
Oh okay thanks for answering
Hey thank you for the video, very insightful and well explained. I was wondering if i have a macbook that has apple care till June 2020, wondering if i can extend that again. From what i remember, i bought the apple care when it was new though.
Did you ever find out, because I want to renew mine as well
@@Daniel-zy4up unfortunately never found out :(
What about an Apple Pencil 2???
AppleCare+ is available for the Apple Pencil, yes.
What if someone walked through my charger and completed destroyed the Macbook? Would it still be covered? Screen is completely removed from the macbook and the entire keyboard and the metal is destroyed. A chunk of the laptop is removed as well.
You'd have to call them and ask. Even if you think the answer is no, why not call and ask?
I think the apple care price is the original cost of that product
Shoot you better believe it, it probably cost Apple $100 to make an iPhone and sells you apple care for 2 times the original cost?? No wonder why Apple is the richest company on the planet.
Always get Apple Care+ can use your devices as they were made to be used no cases 🤙🏼
Screen protector and case are just better. I know iphone feels nice with no case, looks nice too. But little scratches, dings and fingerprints just aren’t worth it. Might be my ocd but I want my phone to be brand new, even after a year just like my car
It only covers two repairs. So any more than that and you are paying out of pocket for the full repair. People who are accident prone like me need a case.
J-Woy got it on my se2 , battery health is down to 92% and I have scratches on the glass. I be able to swap this out for a new one?? For free?
What about apple air pods Pro tho!!
Gracias! Very usefull
What about AppleCare vs a cell phone carriers insurance? Such as Asurion
asurion is local, apple care is worldwide
Do we need antivirus for MacBook pro?
depends on what you're doing, primarily no, I've owned mine for three years almost and haven't suffered any significant loss
How soon can I make a claim once I’ve purchased the AppleCare plus?
I don't think you have to wait for any artificial amount of time if your Mac isn't working. Why wouldn't you go in right away?
Freaking iPad pro 11 2018 which I bought a year ago is already messing up and shutting off by itself. Supposedly the battery is degrading hahaha , seriously fucking expensive devices and it already is malfunctioning..... Warranty expired already...should I get the apple care ? Or can I actually get it and get the battery replaced ? Thx
i was trying to buy a used iPhone and he's telling me that Applecare replaced their phone with a new one.. is true??
Yep, but only if they couldn’t fix the issue
Spot on and very informative vidéo. Thanks mate. Much appreciated!
Can I still get apple care after 60 days?
I have a question, if you crack your phone and have apple care +, do you pay the fee and they give you a new one or do they fix the screen?
How much do they pay you Gary? 😂😂😂
I know you are kidding, but for others I have to say that, of course, Apple doesn’t pay me anything.
@@macmost You're correct. 😁 Love your output.
Would you possibly know when the monthly plan for apple care starts? I bought my phone 02/05 and chose the monthly option, does the payment get taken out every month on the 5th? I called apple but they didnt help me
You'd have to get an answer from them. I'd call again.
Great explanation :)
You can get Applecare+ for earphones as well, and that’s what I wanted to know more about
RFH95 Ik I’m kinda late but u can! Right now the pretty much Cover all the beats headphone but at the moment the only cover the AirPods 3rd gen
iiVixl Builds I wish I had got it for my AirPods Pro, I’m on the third pair already in less than a year, I will be really worried after the warranty expires
RFH95 yep I have the 2nd gen and some beats my 2nd gen are terrible the mics don’t work and the sound is trash hopefully when I ungraded to the new phone I’ll get some more AirPods!
@@dijenfidkkememckck5563 my dog chewed my AirPods 3rd Gen and I wanna get it replaced with the Apple care but I don’t know if it covers that I got them in late December of. 2021 so does the warranty cover that?
@@dana307 if the airpods are unusable/physical damage and need to be fully replaced apple care does not cover it as its a full replacement, if there is sound damage that would be covered by apple care
Can I get apple care+ monthly plan for a 2020 MacBook Pro?
Of course. Do it at time of purchase or call Apple to add it later.
macmostvideo you actually can’t get applecare+ for a monthly payment. You have to pay in full. idk why Apple did that.
@Eitan Fomin if it’s AppleCare + then you can replace your screen for only US$29 if it’s a phone and $39 if it’s iPad
Do you know if it covers water damage?
What about a device bought on eBay that has applecare+ but the original owner is no longer able to be contacted? So I don’t have the ability to transfer is it still honored
Edit for anyone interested I did the purchase anyway and Apple honored it no problem. Now have a new ipad from the damaged one I bought
It doesn't sound like there is any way to transfer the AppleCare if the seller doesn't want to help you.
macmostvideo not that they can’t help but the place is a trade in and I guess the original owner brought theirs in and the store just resells.
@@wandrinsheep Well if you bought it from them and they told you that the price included AppleCare, then you should return it as you didn't get what you paid for.
macmostvideo luckily I didn’t buy it as yet. Because I was wary of the problems you stated. Thank you
Hey! I have a used MacBook Pro from eBay that has AppleCare + till the end of this year. Could I take it in to get some dent taken out? Or did you have to show proof of purchase from the original owner?
Good job
So, $799 for iPad Pro 11 inch plus $129 Apple Care + and additional cost for total about $1000. Okay, I pay at least $300 for the iPad Pro replacement. Better than Nintendo Switch
This is a straight up LIE!!! The credit card company finds a repair shop. Gets a quote and then cuts the customer a check to take their item to the repair shop. The customer would be responsible for the $25 deductible.
Can I get a free battery replacement with Apple care + I’ve been paying for, even though it’s above 80% max health? They keep telling me no. May bring up the consumer act law!
80% is ok.
thak you
Hey, I work for Apple and The AppleCare is only available 60 days after date of purchase. It is a two year term. Your limited warranty isn't extended, its all going to be a term of 2 years....and one of those two years are going to be your limited warranty along side of apple care, then the other year is just apple care. But great informative video. Just don't want anyone to get any misconceptions.
Chancer Lynch thank you so much for this. I have a mbp16. It will be 60 days old on November 13 2020. I'm still undecided on applecareplus. If you don't mind my asking, I thought the Apple care plus for mbp only covers software? and it's only one additional year after the year of purchase? So you really only get two years total coverage? Thank you. I hope to hear back...
@@ifgodwz1ovus no for macbook you will get a total of 3 years(1+2). Apple care plus cover hardware and software issues
So I cracked my camera on my iPhone 12 it’s $100 for accidental damage and $30 for the screen. So if I cracked the screen would they overlook the camera so I can only pay $30?
i have an iphone XS max that has 91% battery health and the battery does not last long at all.
Go to Settings, Battery to see which app(s) are using up your battery.
Apple care is additional business
I would never get why don’t you use screen protector and keeep your apple stuff out of damage
That only protects one aspect (the screen) and in many cases does much more damage than anything else (don't close a MacBook with anything on the screen or keyboard at all!)
I used a screen protector and today i dropped my phone and it managed to get cracks on the actual screen… don’t buy low quality screen protectors
Is it monthly payments or one time payment ? I have new airpods but I don't know if it's worth getting apple care.
They are all one-time payments, but on some devices you can do it monthly.
How about airpod

I’m very careful with my things, so I’m not as worried about what I might do. But sort of worried about hardware issues that aren’t my fault. This is my first MacBook so I don’t know what to expect.
@@autumnmiller3590 I have decided not to bother, it is an unjustifiable amount of money, if you are careful with it, it will be fine, and Macs very very rarely go wrong, the old ones used to, but that was back when they had HDDs etc...
@@chazteb thanks! Good to know
Apple care is expansive compared to the money it insured
I should always get apple care lol I’ve broken 2 MacBooks from water damage.. and 300 would be a lot better then paying 1200 for a new one... LMFAO thanks for the review just bought a new mac and going to get AppleCare+ ASAP
My MacBook Pro M1 is a LEMON with issue after issue after issue. I just bought it and @AppleCare will not replace it even though I've called or chatted with them 5 time with issues that keep me from being able to work. The touchpad would have a mind of it's own, beach balls would freeze the computer, apps like Numbers would disappear, the computer would go to sleep while I was typing on it. @Apple won't replace it... they expect me to fix every issue as it shows up taking up hours per week of my time.
I’m watching this video because I’m having problems with my iPad
Bruh i wasted my money on applecare i thought theyd cover it for free if it got broken
