The Most Beautiful Music Ever. I hope they play this song at my funeral. This Music always made me so happy. But living in this World now makes me cry. The realization. that this really will never come Back. I was Born too late. 🫂🫂💞💞💞💞
Please take me back to 1976, please I plead. I remember when this song came out. I was young and wild, but damn I had good taste in music. This song has kept me dancing from 1976 right up to 2019. "YOU TO ME ARE EVERYTHING" changed the discotheques of yesteryear for good. The ambience, the turntables, and the coloured disco floors were changed forever. Even the massive speakers would keep on singing this song right up to 2019 and beyond. I am an old man and I am stuck in a musical time warp. I am not willing to wake up and leave and nor do I have any intentions to. Treasured gems are my memories of yesteryear and especially of The Real Thing and their great musical talent. R.I.P Eddy Amoo & Ray Lake. What I wouldn't do right now to relive and turn back time to those golden, special moments in time. To The Real Thing, thank you for the beautiful music that you shared, your legendary status and legacy will remain for eternity . Even though I am old, you may ask, Any Regrets? Nah!! I've had fun and a good life and a good time. "THE MIND STILL SEES, THE HEART WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER" 🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶 🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶🎼🎵🎶 🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺🕺
1976 was without doubt one of the best years of my life, the hottest summer ever - absolutely insanely good music both soul and reggae and I fell in love for the first time.....awesome.
The 70's without a doubt was the best era for soul music , I met the love of my life in 74' and every time I hear 70's soul I am transported back . I am literally in the moment . I for one wish it had never ended......
I wish I was there to see it. Seems so much more relaxed and beautiful. It's hard to make life work now but, I do wish whenever I have children to give them this relaxed life. This song reminds me of the great moments Ive had between many mistakes Ive made.
That's what I like about a lot of the 'black' music from the 60s and 70s; soul, R&B and Motown (I'm far from an expert as to which was which in a lot of cases!), they had lyrics that actually meant something and had neat rhymes (I was born in '81 so my favourite decade of music, though full of great sounds, was guilty of gibberish lyrics and a lack of pleasing rhymes - at least people in the 60s writing things like Matchstick Men had the excuse of being on another planet due to the myriad drugs they were taking!). This song has a lot of that quality in it. The words are true and intelligently chosen, flow and rhyme neatly; perfect.
I began to re-discover a lot of music from when I was growing up in the 70s, a few years ago. I was 10 years old back in 1976 and loved this song, I look back now with a sense of sadness of times gone, but at the same time I so much more appreciate brilliant music like this.
I heard this song today for the first time in many years. I was 17 in 1976. I loved being a teenager in the 70's. I had the same feeling as you - reminiscing the good times and feeling a twinge of sadness. Here's to happy memories!
@@theresascheepers2407 I have no doubt! Thats nothing! You are not older than you feel. But I feel like a f@king tree in the story of "lord of the rings" Im wise, Im stupid, and can't figure out my next move! 😊And the world makes me tired like nothing else! 😁
I was thirteen when this song was released in 1976. And that year was t h e year of so many world hits. I still love this song and I could hear it all day long. It makes me happy right from the intro. To me this group should have the same recognition as the Commodores, the Temptations, Earth, Wind and Fire, the (Detroit) Spinners, the Manhattans and some more. But they only had this one superhit. So they are totally underrated. But this tune will hopefully played forever...
My Maternal nan died 3 years ago in August. And my great uncle is in hospital and he is suffering cancer, and my father said that my paternal great uncle might die in 3-5 months, and my Paternal great uncle is dead now :( and this song is also cheering me up just like you.
I sang this song to my husband at our wedding party 😁🥰 Never forgotten when all my bridemaid and myself sang the chorus for him 😄 This Song put always a smile on our face ❤️
One of the best love songs ever with enchanting background score & clean melodious vocals🎧 The lyrics are so real & down to earth that any lover can make this song his/her own at any stage in their life. Too bad this song is not widely popular among people & has not received due adulation which it deserves. My Dad loves this song & so do I. Can lift your mood anytime, anywhere! Timeless classic💟

Wow a big hit at the teen parties back then with everyone on the dance floor. The song's awesome vibe transported us to heaven on earth and remains a classic.
I’m 30 years old , my mum who I love very much played this during my childhood . Why don’t they play music like this anymore !! 2021 please someone bring music out like this. Bless you all ❤️💙
Right back in 76.....hot sun, shopping for clothes and records....,clubbing....and every day wondering if that gorgeous dark haired guy in the jeans and light blue tee shirt would ever ask me out. He did, eventually, and it was an absolute disaster as he turned out to be an unkind.person. But the song remains a wonder! 🌟
Ohh gosh!!! This song brings back to me the good old days of listening to the radio in the 1970's, such wonderful music. Listening to this in February 2022, still sweet until now.
As a child of the 60's and a teenager of the 70's, it makes me feel good to see so very many people comment how those decades were so great. I don't think it is only because we were so young then. It is also because the world was a gentler place (yes, I know, it still had some big problems all the same). The never to be repeated, wonderful music of the times was a big, big factor in this. Music then was good natured, tuneful and inclusive. With very few exceptions, today it is the opposite. Where has all the song-writing talent gone? I'd go back to being 10 years old in 1970 like a shot if it was possible. Sadly, it is not so those of my generation carry on with great memories of the happiest two decades of the past 100 years to sustain us.
I keep telling my kids that nothing good in music happened after the end of the 70s. When else could you find so many great musicians and singers with such diverse music from psychedelic/progressive rock to disco.
Well said. It was a time when great music was created all over the world and fantastic bands were formed who will be remembered long after they are gone. What a special te it was .. love, peace and beautiful music.
Once, when I was in my teens, I woke up hearing this song from the radio and I realised I just had a dream about me sitting on the head of a dinosaur as he was marching along. And we were best friends. I woke up so happy. "You to me are everything, The sweetest song that I could sing."
Still touring in the UK - fantastic live vocals (go and see them, support the lads). Such a special song that has stood the test of time - the story of youth. Thank you Chris and Dave (and the late Ray and Eddie) 💜
In hospital a few years ago and stuck in my bed I got talking with this guy in one of the other beds in the ward, really nice chap. He told me about three venues he liked to go to for live music, and he's seen a lot of the old groups and singers still going there - including the Real Thing.

As a child of the 60's and a teenager of the 70's, it makes me feel good to see so very many people comment how those decades were so great. I don't think it is only because we were so young then.
