  • A short film about the Father Frank Browne's photography on board the Titanic. This film is an original piece by Titanic Stories - for more information we'd love you to visit: www.the-titanic...
    During his short time on board Titanic, the 32 year old Jesuit priest, Father Frank Browne, captured some of the most enduring and iconic images of the ship, images upon which our modern-day knowledge of the interior of Titanic and the atmosphere on board are based.
    His superior who summoned him back to his duties rather than permitting him to complete Titanic's voyage probably saved his life but also this invaluable photographic collection from a watery grave.
    You can read more about Father Frank Browne on the Titanic website: www.the-titanic...

    I read that he was told by his superiors(the bishop) to get off at Cobh as he was wanted for something.So if he had stayed we would never had have the photos Fr.Browne took while on Titanic maiden voyage of the interior of the ship and of course of the deck.

    Father Brown states at 2: 26 that the plan for the ship was NOT for the Titanic, it was in fact the plan for the Olympic! "It differed in several respects. For example, it doesn't show my cabin." he states. The plan he was given had a header for the "Titanic" but he noted that his room 37A could not be found because it didn't exist on the ship he was on..the Olympic! Proof right there that the ships were switched for insurance purposes..."Get off that ship!"..they knew what was going to happen.. It is said that when the Titanic was pictured being built, it had 14 evenly spaced portholes on the "C" deck. But when it left Southampton, it was pictured with 16 unevenly spaced portholes! (AKA the Olympic.) Why has no one ever taken into account what Father Browne said of the plan he was given?? Is that why he was ordered to leave, so he wouldn't accidentally share this information?????????

    • @Dallas_K
      @Dallas_K Год назад

      No. Proof that many changes were made impromptu on the Titanic at the last minute and were never reflected in printed plans.
      The Titanic was only partially insured, so such a scheme was a losing bet. Get off this absurd conspiracy theory.

      God did more than just “saw what was going to happen” He orchestrated what was going to happen. Once they arrogantly declared it was “unsinkable” and that “not even God could sink this ship” that’s when God said “Oh yeah, we’ll see about that”. That iceberg was shown to be rare. It floated to the right location where it would meet the Titanic and destroy it. The captain changed course to go south, right where the iceberg was. And the binoculars that was needed to see the iceberg was accidentally taken off the ship. The ship was cursed. Doomed to do what foolish man said it could not do, and that is….sink.

    2:05 pause it and look towards the right of the photo. You can clearly see a "ghost" image that is without a doubt one of the two parlor suite private promenades. You can see the wicker chairs, the unique Tudor style woodwork on the ship side wall and if you really allow it to show up, on the left are the evenly spaced rectangular windows looking out to sea. I wonder if Father Browne forgot to advance the film and double exposed it by accident or if he did this by mistake when developing the prints? Whatever the case, I don't ever remember seeing a photographic record of that part of the Titanic. Anyone have insight to this?

    There seems to be some confusion as to which photos where taken by Browne and which ones were taken by someone else. Various sites and youtube videos claim that the photo showing the first class reading and writing room was from Titanic, others are adamant it is of Olympic's reading room. If those photos or prints were found to be together on the same negative as the rest of the photos that Browne took onboard Titanic then this would show that photo was taken on Titanic, but it's unlikely the negatives will be available or will still exist. There is also some debate as to whether Browne took the photos from the moment of the near collision with the New York and Oceanic, where they all taken by Browne or by the Odell family, or was there a third photographer taking photos besides them?. On the "Titanic Photographs" under the Browne album there is a photo showing Titanic in the fitting out wharf. Surely Browne never took that particular photo, and if he did then what was doing at the H&W yard for taking photos?.
    Who took the photo showing Capt Smith looking down from the bridge wing? as far as I'm aware this wasn't taken by Browne, if it wasn't and then what else did this photographer take whilst onboard the ship?. I find it hard to believe no other passengers beside Browne and the Odell family took any photos before they left Titanic at Queenstown, and quite a number of them would've been first and second class and (possibly) with a camera in their possession.

    Interesting point, but on the map, he saw restaurants that were not on the Olympic, therefore, you would need to have more evidence. And answer me this won't you? Why would the White Star Line sink a ship? And their most luxurious one too? Something that cost them so much money. They wouldn't switch ships either. And how could they keep 15,000 Irish from saying this big secret? Answer that will you? Otherwise I do not believe your claim.

      +harriter88 Explain the massive refitting that would have had to happen to both the "real" Olympic (in adding, extra staterooms in all three classes across the ship, adding the Cafe Parisian / Palm Court which meant changing the external appearance of the aft B-Deck enclosed promenade of the ship as well, changing the bridge wings to extend out further than the Olympic, changing the A-deck Promenade to be nearly 1/2 enclosed, changing entire porthole orientations. Remember, this would all have be done to the "real" Olympic while refitting the "real" Titanic to look the the Olympic that passengers and crew alike had already gotten to know for the better part of a year. Many updates one would associate with Titanic were not changed until 1913, well after the sinking. Not such a simple matter of switching name plates. All of that information is even explained at 2:08.

    • @mattd6086
      @mattd6086 8 лет назад +4

      That has been thoroughly debunked as nonsense. Many pieces of the Olympic's interior were auctioned, and are on display around the world. They bear the hull #400.
