    • @pierrerepair86
      @pierrerepair86  Год назад +1

      The coolant will boil because operating temperature is between 195F and 215F. What prevents it from boiling is the pressure in the system. Do you find yourself adding coolant often?

    • @seemaab
      @seemaab Год назад +1

      @@pierrerepair86 basically the coolant escapes and I noticed that it pushed out the coolant return hose due to the pressure. Had it tested with gas leak colour additive and it was positive. Added sealant and gas leak test was negative but still get the boiling. Bottom pipe is still cold but the top of the bottom pipe is hot.
      Top pipe is hot as usual.

    • @pierrerepair86
      @pierrerepair86  Год назад +1

      @seemaab if it’s tested negative, air in the system might cause the boiling. I would add coolant while the engine is cold and running. Remove the radiator cap/high pressure coolant reservoir cap, add coolant as the engine is slowly reaching operating temperature. The coolant will go down while the thermostat starts opening. If you have a cooling system bleeder, I would use it to bleed air as well.

    Hello from Oamaru, Sth island New Zealand
    Question.
    Any possible causes to this misery?.
    2012 Nissan Navara D40 St-X Diesel.
    Thanks in advance.
    Symptoms...
    A putrid white hazy foggy smoke comes out of exhaust after around a minute of idling after startup.
    Exhaust fumes don't smell sweet like coolant, it's very cutting to eye n terrible to breathe in.
    Engine has rough lumpy idle then cuts out.
    No fault codes.
    EGR valve and cooler fine.
    I possibly have coolant leak but there's no coolant loss.
    No coolant in my sump oil, and no oil radiator.
    No bubbling up in radiator.
    Cheers Carl

      That really sucks cause most shops will try to get more out of you even if it’s just a leak from one of the hoses or pumps. Try and trace the leak back to the source and if it’s a cracked hose or a loose clamp that’s a super easy and cheap fix which is what it sounds like. I would still recommend spending money to go to a shop though cause there’s so much little bs that can happen from a small problem it’s best to get a professional opinion.

      If temp gauge goes up and down, you have air pockets in cooling system. It could be some trapped air from not bleeding when filling up the coolant or exhaust gases going into cooling system. When the air or exhaust gas passes by the coolant temp sensor, it will cause a spike in temperature and causes your coolant gauge to read high
