A few years back I found someone that was gaming with a joystick a little weird. Now it caught me and caught myself looking into what you suggest here :D
How the time changes.
Thanks for sharing and I would also love to see you guys fly some missions. Greetings from germany.
Very cool, thanks. We’re working on a development project, F-16C B-Course and a P-51D Bomber Escort. Most of our flying is 2-ship and 4-ship training sorties which are pretty boring compared with other types of videos out there.
Well I wouldnt say "boring". You got me interested in DCS in the first place after seeing your videos. I think it was a CAS training you shared.@@AIRWARFAREGROUP
I may be in the Ramstein area in may, any good aviation museums there?
Used to use a Buttkicker, but moved to a Jetseat and the simshaker for aviators software a good few years ago. Honestly the best move I ever made.
Sadly the jetseat is getting a tad flaky now, but given how old it is, I got my moneys worth. On the look out for a new replacement now they are hard to get a hold off.
However I will always recommend a haptic cover over a Buttkicker everytime. Significantly less noise and doesn’t disturb everyone else in the house while still delivering the same if not better feedback.
Check out Next Level Racing HF8 pad.
Simshaker for aviators and the extra sound module. Amazing. Separate profiles for specific planes and you can use it simply on the fly.
Awesome, thanks! I think it's rating at #1 for the community. I'll give it a try after our development work is done with BK and ED.
Couldn't agree more and what i use too. Haptic connect is to be frank.................... meh and just too much messing around.
Yeah, true. It's new to DCS and honestly, without help from users in DCS, it was stagnate for a while...perhaps that's why Guitammer were more than happy to get me one and are open to share our military aviation experiences to make it better for the community. We hope to have a better product for you all before too long.
...But my sub-woofer speaker volume goes to eleven.
That’s what I love about happy to connect is that it doesn’t go through your sound, it goes through the telemetry endgame and send a vibration signal to the moving mass weight.
Juice, picked up the buttkicker and absolutely loving it. Anyway you can send a request to them to add effects for rounds hitting the Helo at low level from small arms? Sounds like they are receptive to you and your crew. Be nice if they could add a slider for that when they work on adding the helo effects. It would be nice in the UH-1 to feel the thump of AK rounds hitting the fuselage.
Will do, excellent recommendation. Do we know if Eagle Dynamics has that telemetry modeled? That is the first question.
We have created a group discussion (DM) with ED’s UK based development lead and our helicopter experienced members. 🤞 they keep the communication flowing. We’re listing feedback parameters we recommend and then confirming what is already available in DCS. Then we have Guitammer (ButtKicker) talking to ED directly via email. Guitammer plugin developers also have direct access to our helicopter team. The process is slow but I’m optimistic. ~J
Simshaker with a Gametrix Jetseat. Before that SimShakerAudio and a DIY setup with two transducers. 🥰
👍 thanks!
I gave up on the ButtKicker for DCS right now - going to return it. I just don't see the value at this point - it is clear that flight sim is still new to them. While I don't mind dealing with helping vendors develop software, for the price they are asking I had hoped for something more polished. I'll check back in a year or so and see if they have improved DCS support.
That being said, thanks for the videos about this - and everything else. Great channel!
Thanks and did you consider any of the other software programs like SM app or Sim Shaker for aviators?
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I did - but just peripherally. To be honest, I was a bit perturbed at the price I paid for the software on top of the price I paid for the hardware. I spent a number of hours trying to tune everything - with multiple instances of the software crashing - and reached the conclusion that the value (for ME) just isn't there. For a brief moment I started down the rabbit-hole of maybe using another piece of software, but my engineer brain took over and set me straight. As it stands now, us DCS simmers are used to dealing with a lot of external stuff to enjoy our sim - OpenTrack for head tracking, DCS Bios to communicate to my custom controllers, Helios to export my displays to MFDs, Tacview, Combatflite, etc. I guess I found my limit ;)
I _will_ keep lurking. Of course on your channel, but others as well, and will probably pull the trigger on a haptic device in the future once things have matured a bit.
You gotta try it with simshaker for aviators with Andre's plugin. Totally different world
Eventually, for now, we're doing all we can to test the HaptiConnect software and work with ED to optimize telemetry points for all aircraft. Cheers!
Looks like your second comment is hidden.
Thanks for your honest comment, tired of people upselling whatever “must have” gadget they need to justify to themselves/shill. I’ll also wait for the price to include a full solution rather than paying for me to spend hours to make half baked hardware work.
Game sound only with a little EQ. Much better than sim shaker, no tweaking, all perfect sync, all effects as rich and dynamic as the sounds in DCS. Examples - sonic booms really boom. Different effects for each seat of.multi seat aircraft. Its simple and works very well. All due respect to ssa and the sound module but the sound module is unofficial software that I had to buy in rubles and down load from OneDrive....
👍 thanks
Does hapticonnect work with the HF8 seat pad? I'm looking to branch out into haptics (in no small part because of your recent videos on the topic)...
I imagine it would if the software would pick it up on a USB connection. If not used with the butt kicker product, I would just go ahead and go with the free download of Sim shaker for aviators.
It would be cool if hapticonnect allows HF8 hapticpad simultaneously with buttkicker basshakeers like possible with simshaker for aviators.
So, I spoke with ButtKicker’s head of gaming division on Friday and he confirmed that it’s possible to use HaptiConnect for non-Guitammer products but the desired effect might be different like less than normal to thermal overload. The software is designed for the unique magnet/dual-slug engineering of the ButtKicker and the movement of all kinds of shakers is different. I’m going to have he and his team on the channel soon to explain.
I use SRS for seatshaker and 3DOF and Andre's software for Buttkickers.
👍
I also run separate sound cards for each device to.
I use SRS as well.
Sim Shaker for aviators. But I'd love to try something else out.
Hey, I checked out some of the screen captures for Sam shaker for aviators. It looks really good although it does seem a little time-consuming and tedious to go through and change little little perimeters here and there. One thing I like about the haptic connect infrastructure design is that it allows you to change on the fly in DCS
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP you can change things on the fly with simshaker for avaitors. It sets up profiles for every DCS module, and you can change things to be exactly how you want them per airframe. As an example in the F-16 the flaps and slats are controlled by the computer, so I don't want to feel them at all. In the F-14 I really want to know what they're doing. It has general jet prop and helicopter profiles you can use if you want to keep it simple, but I've personally found that I like tweaking the feel of every module differently.
In addition to that, you can add a cheapo USB sound card and isolate the buttkicker to it's own sound source. This allows more fidelity.
SimShaker lets you set defaults for families of of aircraft, e.g. fixed wing props vs jets in addition to overrides for specific airframes. I don’t find it too cumbersome.
Sounds cool has anybody done a comprehensive and easy to follow video on that that you can link us?

Why is it so complicated with DCS
With Simracing it's just Simhub Or even integrated in Iracing natively
Just like with next level racing flight rigs it’s relatively new to the flying community. The haptic parameters in the programming are different for racing Sims versus flying Sims so it will be some growing pains. Thanks for understanding 😜
All Due Respect AWG ! Love your DCS Engagment ! But you Now are skating on thin Ice as Being Advertorial! That would be a Shame.
Ah, yes, I see...yep, I promote them...they sent me stuff for free and I like their products. Since we don't get paid endorsements or have Monitization turned on, we don't mind advertising for free. I'll keep them short and only for stuff "I Like" to use and the viewer can choose to skip, ignore or close the vid. Like we said in PACAF "No SweattieDa"
I would never recommend a product or service I wouldn't use myself. And for me to recommend anyone, means I have tried and test it fully for enjoyment and enrichment in my SIM Experience. Trust me on that! I used to test advanced survival systems being considered for the DoD and I had to make judgment calls with rationale why I supported or rejected submittals to the equipment. At the end of the day, the decision to go/no-go a product was above me, but I got to tell my honest assessment.

@@AIRWARFAREGROUP Sounds fair in my book. I feel that approach is no different than word of mouth recommendations but on a wider scale. Guys in my sim group recommend (advertise) products they like and/or trust. I've done the same within my group and would probably do similar if I had a channel. Just my perspective.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP I think you made it very clear, you are actually trying to help Buttkicker with IMPROVING their stuff and NOT with "sales". So no foul, no harm...
It will only help the DCS community to choose from a wider variety of solutions and honestly SimShaker Audio needs to be setup with separate Soundcard, Amp and transducers, so a plug'n'play alternative is a good idea.
If the software is up to par with Simshaker, Buttkicker will be a working alternative.
Personally I prefer the Jetseat/JetPad/HapticPad solutions, but they are difficult to get and not cheap either.
So we should appreciate you helping to improve their stuff.
Just my two cents. 😊
Thanks, we are definitely not looking for the money side of advertising. Thanks again for keeping me honest!
