Just to be clear. You only replaced the signal flex cable in this video, and used the same (seemingly broken) display? You didn't replace the LCD or use a screen+housing, just a new flex cable? If so, then there's a lot of Macbooks that can be fixed using this. Flexgate is still a thing, like you say. 1 micromillimeter too short.
@@oscarsh2909 yes. I replaced only a flex cable. Screen it’s not damaged or cracked. This method you can use if you have strip lines or no image at all. You need to also take a point on broken flexes with no backlight where you can find in my other video. Therefore think what type of damage you have display flex (no image, strip line), display cracked/damaged (if yes than you can take some spare parts) or no backlight (problem with flex or voltage on motherboard).
@@cmdrserwisThanks for your response and for the video as well of course! Yes, I know nothing about this sort of stuff, I will never have same skill as you. But I really like fixing things especially for other people. So I will attempt this repair sometime. Switching out only flexcable and not whole display seems like a gamechanger! Cable price = $1, screen price $200-400
i hope you are here in the philippines - mine is an m2 pro with green and pink horizontal lines - is that a cable only issue?
Price for replace? MBP 2017 pink stipes
