SRS has some cool uses, you can shoot the cannonball with a rail for a easy nuke, you can proboost them, you can whiplash them after they hit an enemy to parry them... But yeah, the Sharpshooter revolver is fantastic. Hakita keeps topping himself with these weapon additions.
Shooting cannonball with red rail isn't a nuke sadly. Does the same damage as it would if you shot the cannonball with your revolver. Only way you can get a nuke is by shooting shotgun core.
3:16 I actually used the SRS cannon to get all the p ranks in act 2, I found it really nice to use and super rewarding when I land a cannonball snipe and blow up small groups of enemies. My only problem is the cooldown. In my opinion it should have either a much shorter cooldown, much more damage, or have multiple cannonball charges (like the base sharpshooter revolver)
Also, the SRS cannon can instantly destroy the Cerberi in the first room of P-2. Just hit them with a cannonball, switch to the railcannon, and BOOM! Free kill
@@somebigirl fair, but in the campaign the insurrectionist (at the moment) only appears in 3 levels. The second level of greed, first level of heresy, and P-2. The SRS cannon should be as versatile as all other weapons, and not just good for one enemy.
2:30 Why you died: You shot Maurices bullets causing them to explode and instakill him, on top of multi-ricocheting the bullet which would have also done the job. However, shooting enemy bullets comes at a cost, the explosion can damage and in this case, kill you.
S.R.S cannon is really useful, especially in the cybergrind and act 2, since there are quite a bit of Cerberi and Maurice to kill, along with Insurrectionists which S.R.S is really good against.
Been loitering in the prelude testing the new revolver aswell, and you'd be surprised the amount of odd corners in there you never noticed until you try this angle protactor. But when you find to straigth pararell walls to do bounces off, it gets mad good, been able to ones shot maurices from full hp if you time the shot right. The first one in belly of the beast is good practice
3:30 I actually love the SRS Cannon. You can do goofy stuff with it like punch-boosting it, then whiplashing it back to yourself, then punch boosting again, and *then* shooting it to detonate it midair like a core eject.
3:30 SRS is great for cybergrind. They buffed the damage on the parried cannonballs this patch too. SRS is my go to for combos when railgun is on recharge and I am too far to line up coins for piercer. Plus, it also stuns the insurrectionists from attacking, which now spawn way more often this patch
The new helicopter gun is so much fun to use although I wish it's alt form was better S.R.S is actually my preferred rocket launcher for playing through levels. (It even got buffed and dislodges sentries now)
The Slab alt was good, but too good because being able to do funny amounts of damage or even insta-killing some major bosses with little difficulty was a bit much like pre-nerf coin punching.
Srs got buffed pretty good so ive been using it. The increase in damage after being punched allows it to like two shot cerberuses by shooting them once, then whiplashing the ball toward you and then parrying it into them again (sometimes you dont even need to whiplash it), which is nice
I use the srs cannon a lot for Cerberus and the shaprshooter if i can bounce it into the same enemies a few times so i use them both equally. Srs cannon actually got buffed when the sharpshooter was added. Sharpshooter also has insane maurice instakill ability
SRS is really good, does a lot of damage and has infinite piercing after parrying it from a bounce, my favorite way of one shotting cerbs. Also its really funny.
S.R.S has slightly niche functions, but they're extremely good functions. It enables a long-range instakill (or near-instakill) on Cerbs, Virtues, and HMs, and with some fancy combo work, even Insurrectionists. Even if you don't kill immediately, staggering Insurrectionists is a great opening for damage.
with the CG update buff it now instakills sentries(and interrupts them), cerbs, virtues and does good damage agaist HM's, and stuns insurrectionists, also it has better whiplash priority so yippee
Personally I am a big fan of the SRS. Yes it doesnt have a boss-insta-killing potential (which Sharpshooter recently lost) but its just so good against any enemy that you want dead or greatly hurt. Lets say you see maurice - shoot at it, you see cerb - shoot at it, see a pyro - slam then shoot, see a group of enemies - shoot and explode, see a soldier - shoot. Doesnt matter what enemy that is or whats the environment. Its a no hesitation any range option that deals massive damage, has STYLE and is practically never a 'bad' option. It doesnt bounce off explosion immune enemies and instakills any fodder enemy. So far I like it much more than the sharpshooter and I doubt that will change any time soon.
The SRS' stagger effect, plus the fact that you can nuke it has me using often in cybergrind. More than I use the normal rockets but less than the new revolver
Don't forget that this thing can make projectiles explode. Not just Maurice projectiles. As for why this thing is so popular, one reason is because it's the 3rd variant of the most useful weapon type in the game. It changes _a lot_ (and fucks with my muscle memory). The SRS didn't have as much impact because there's just not that many synergies between the two rocket launchers or with other weapons. The SRS was also pretty underwhelming on launch, unlike the SRS which could one-shot Flesh Prison. But it's been buffed since and feels really good right now, although I personally only really use it against Cerbs, Insurrs and Sentries, which are the main enemies it counters.
I use the cannonball quite often in my rotations, but I have problems using the Sharpshooter. I understand its insane potential, but when I use it it usually does not much work. I think its just something I need to get used to, while the cannonball is much simpler to learn
SRS is good for a pretty quick cerberi instakill. shoot the cannonball at the legs, jump up to meet the cannonball, and parry the cannonball into the cerberus head/chest
If you have a wall in front of you and behind you, align yourself with the walls in fron and behind with the enemy in front of you, charge a shot and if you hit it perfectly, the enemy gets hit like 12 times and it does a load of damage.
yknow, it didn't occur to me that now new players are gonna have access to this from the BEGINNING OF THE GAME. at the same time they get the MARKSMAN. they're gonna think a base part of the gameplay loop is instakilling maurices by sharpshooting their projectiles.
S.R.S is one of my favorite cybergrind weapons because I don’t know how to rocket ride so it lets me do my favorite wave opener by slam storage jumping, tossing 4 coins upward, use the srs down, once the cannonball hits the floor shoot a rocket to kill most filth and strays that got launched up with +fireworks then shoot the 4 coins to kill leftover enemies, then anything else left I just kill them by conventional ultrakill means. Maybe it’s bad compared to the one that stops time but I am bad at stuff like that so cannonballs it is
SRS rocket can "one shot" the big stone guys if you hit them with the cannon, whiplash arm the cannonball and parry it back into them. Fastest ttk outside of railcoining on the statues
i tried spawning like a bunch of the double weapon power ups in sandbox i spun em up jumped into the air and ascended right out the stratosphere like it was nothing
Fun Fact: The skeleton guy in 4-3 greed layer that’s a secret boss can be instantly killed with the red beam. When he says fuller auto, shoot the balls. If done correctly, it should insta kill the skeleton.
i feel like sharpshooter is one of those thingd where its only really good in levels with long corridors, or bosses. and when it isnt its jsut kinda of a different peircer
Honestly, i find SRS more useful than the sharpshooter. Destroying projectiles is extremely fun, but other than that it is only good in small spaces (well, it's not that it's bad, there's almost no point in using it). SRS, on the other hand, does some bonkers damage and rids you of the need to coin every single Cerberus. ...Yes, i like playing Demoman, what did you expect?
The SRS with the new patch can actually one shot a full hp Cerberus alone. Simple shoot a fully charged cannonball, grapple it back to you and pro boost it into the Cerberus again. Guaranteed insta.
thing is the SRS is just too far out on my keyboard and I haven’t bothered to rebind it xD so it’s annoying to select, then the air explosion bonus takes lots of practice
I had the same problem and rebinded the rl to capslock and its really comfy. Also a trick for easy air explosions is to just whiplash an enemy and shoot immediately after, just dont let them get too close before you blow them up or the explosion will hurt u, or mix up the timing and pull a rocket to u instead of enemy. Sounds goofy but happens sometimes when u in the moment. Air explosions are actually really helpful to learn, its kind of become a more consistent/convenient substitute for core sniping for me
SRS is actually my primary rocket launcher because of the cannonball's insane damage and its flexibility. I can two-shot Cerberi with it by following up with whiplash, and if I can't do that I can just shoot it to make it explode. And even if it just falls to the ground it sends low-tier enemies flying so can airshot them. It's just so much more versatile. I mostly... now that I think about it, only use Freezeframe to rocket ride out of sticky situations or to just speed things up. The only combo that I know of utilizing Freezeframe is magnet + frozen rockets which is very hard to set up during intense combat situations. So SRS seems like a way more flexible and offensive option to me which is why I prefer it over Freezeframe.
Something that you don't see very often that freezeframe does better than srs is that it's better for rocket grappling since frozen rockets have a bigger radius

True, it's a perfect counter against Maurices if your timing is good

@@General_C I use the shotgun on Maurices but shooting the projectile right as it fires is a much easier instakill imo.
