Theatre has helped me so much. Sometimes I'll be at home and I would say "I want to go home". Everyone would say "We'll you are home". No place was more of a home to me then Theatre was. I was in a bad place before I started theatre. I hated myself and I had terrible friends but theatre basically brushed me off and said "you will be alright" and I am thankful for thay everyday. Thank you Leslie for being such an inspiration for people like me everyday.

My home is school, the amount of times I've said I wanna go home is just... That's where I've had so many good memories. And my friends are practically my family, so it really is home to me
I really want to get into theatre... I'm not happy, and I so badly just *want* to be happy, but I'm so scared, I'm already a junior who hasn't even touched theatre despite being interested, what if they don't like me? What if I suck? What if it's too late? I just, don't know what to do with *anything* at this point.
@@wumbe3520 Try it! It's never too late to start theatre!! And they won't hate you! They WANT you to be good! They are on your side and want what is best for their show. You don't have to be perfect! And you will get better the more you do it and here is the best tip I can give you - if you want it, you will be good. If you work hard, you will be good. Break a leg!

Ok. Why do drama teachers do this? What I mean is, why do they let the kids cast the show? I’ve seen it multiple times. Kids auditioning for a specific role. How about this. You audition for the SHOW, and you get what you get. Oh, and what a beautiful, honest, and heartfelt vlog. Really wonderful.
Leah Clo at my school, you just audition for the show and you only say if you interested in a lead for not and they will base the cast list off of those as well as callbacks where they go more in depth to lead role auditions. I think it’s a good process even tho some people will be bitter with casting and deny roles which is dumb.

"everybodys parents getting divorced" i'm so proud that my parents are still married for 20 years now. But i recognized in my class that there are only 3 or 4 kids whos parents are still together. And thats really sad.

as the weird kid who deeply wants to do theatre for a living but doesn’t know if their parents will support them/if they can do it at all, thank you. this means a whole heck of a lot to me and it’s truly touching.
I wanna thank Leslie Kritzer for showing us all of this. My parents told me today that they don’t think I can do it. They told me that I was probably going to have to settle for an acting teacher. But this inspired me to keep going, thank you.

Watching this on my first full day on campus as a BFA Musical Theater Student. LESLIE I'M SOBBING for the BEST REASONS!! All joking aside, I truly am greatful for the message of this vlog. Theater has always been a place where I can be myself and I love it so much.
I really really have been struggling recently with a lot but also with what I want to do in life and this helped me so much and showed me theatre is where I feel most myself and most alive and that it is what I want to pursue! Thank you leslie❤️
I love that you can film backstage I wish I could go watch the show in-person I would love to meet you all. Its all apart of life to be different and that is a good thing to be your self anyone who sees this knows what you were going threw because it happens to most people where they feel left out sometimes they just need to know that they are not alone
Holy crap I'm not kidding when I saw this episode made me cry. As a high school theater kid it was really touching and Leslie is so sweet and inspirational.
This video truly spoke to me, seeing that you were once just a theatre kid in high school and lived in a normal house and went to a normal school and now you are on fucking Broadway??!! Spectacular. Drama was an escape for me. I cry watching so many broadways plays cuz i feel like i belong there but i know i cant do it. And im okay with that for the most part!! My health wont allow it and i have to accept it. But i love to dream. I have such amazing memories of the plays and the roles I had.

Theater is my home and theater is what I wanna do with my life, I’ve been doing theater since I was 5 and it’s been the best adventure of my life. It’s opens my heart to places it’s never been. I feel like I belong to the stage and the theater. Thank you so much for making this video. I wish that I could see beetlejuice again! I saw it in July, and I’m coming back to NY in 2 weeks for 2 days. That’s a show that I’ve always wanted to go backstage in😂 the sets and all of it must feel so incredible on the stage! If your a theater kid and you love the theater and want to do it forever and be on broadway, don’t ever let anyone stop you and push as hard as you can for it❤️

Leslie you are so incredibly inspiring. Theatre gives a sense of "home" to so many people that are struggling in real life. In a way, theatre is an alternate reality, if that makes sense? I never comment on stuff but this episode really made me cry because of how inspirational Lezlie is. I really hope to see the show one day and this show has my whole heart
I haven’t been able to perform in years. There’s no musical theatre opportunities in the city I live in. I’m almost 18, and it’s so embarrassing not having much experience but still being so dedicated to hopefully landing a lead role in a musical someday. I think I can do it but I feel like people won’t take me seriously and that scares me. I almost lost my love for acting for that reason alone, but I’m trying to get back into it and just say f*ck it and keep working. This video reminded me why I love musical theatre so much. I can be myself and no one cares and everyone loves you for it. It’s a beautiful thing and I hope everyone gets to experience it.
I've seen a lot of vlog series on this channel through the years and I have to say, Leslie is one of the best hosts there's been. These vlogs are super varied in content, insightful, interesting, heartfelt and there's always something new and different in them, something unexpected. Leslie goes above and beyond what one could expect from a vlog, even taking time of her day to show us around or share stories like this one, making characters and sketches, inviting fans into them. It's very much appreciated the care she puts in the content she delivers. Anyway, thought I'd just add my humble bit of appreciation ♥
I was just talkin about being a theater kid to my mom today and I like how Seize the Day o has really brought back fond memories of when I used to be a theater kid and the fact that this episode touched on your fond memories of being a theater kid was amazing and seeing that theater kids even though different generation still have very much the same ritual. To see that you used to go to the diner after every show that's exactly what I did when I was a theater kid. I was doing that tradition of going to a diner of any sorts after a play when I was in Middle School all the way up into High School because when I got into college and was doing plays I was just going to somebody's house and drinking afterwards, and I kind of miss being a theater kid I kind of miss being in the theater because the theater was my home I constantly keep saying I am strange and unusual but the theater didn't make me feel strange and unusual it made me feel at home...ty so much.

This episode just made me straight up cry, thank you leslie for this. Its so fortunate that people in America mostly have some sort of musical theater in high school. Here in the Netherlands its even harder. I live in the middle of nowhere and have to cycle for about 45 minutes to school, my school doesn’t do a lot with theater and musical so the only time I would be truely able to express myself on stage is when the Talentshow comes around every 6 months. We don’t have any theater in citys nearby which I could sign up for, and if it is, theyre mostly not affordable. So I am kind of trapped, probably hoping that some day I may be discovered by someone. A couple of weeks ago I signed up for Hollands Got Talent where I am going to sing a song from The Waitress as my audition, I really hope I am able to audition there, its on the other side of the country but it is going to be worth it! Thank you Leslie for this amazing message to all of us, it was just what I needed
