Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started traveling full-time January 10, 2016. While daily vlogging was not the original plan, we were having way too many cool experiences not to share every single day! Now travel vlogging is our full-time gig and we feel like we have the greatest job in the world! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
We’ve pulled inspiration from several of our favorite travel vloggers on RUclips, such as: +CaseyNeistat +FunForLouis +Jon Olsson +Mr Ben Brown , and any other talented travel vloggers that RUclips’s algorithm will hopefully connect us with ;)

You know they’re going somewhere fancy when Nate brings out his checkered shirt haha! This was such a cool video! Bolivia has been on my list for a while, I’m baffled as to why it’s consistently overlooked by tourists.
What a fantastic school and program! I love that they are not only teaching ladies to be amazing chefs and home cooks, but are also empowering them to be career oriented and business owners. Just wonderful.
That being said... the woman who served you those sandwiches is over 80 years old? That seems impossible. Wow!
I have heard so much about this project, read about it, but this is the first time I have seen it. Fantastic, and thanks for sharing. Getting addicted to your Vlogs BTW.
+Peter Habel thank you!!! Glad you liked it :) such a cool project!
The voice overs lend importance. I like it!
I was there yesterday THANKS TO YOU☺️
Well done guys. Your cinematography is very well done. Everything is sewed in so seamlessly. It shows how much work you both put in on a regular basis. Keep it up! :)
agree!
This episode is exquisite eye candy. Episode 321 is where you two hit your stride. Now I see why you started winning awards. Watching y'all grow in your art is super inspiring.
Oh my gosh this is such an amazing video ! Bolivia is so beautiful & underrated ! It’s been about 6 years since I’ve had the privilege of going back there but had went several times before & we always learned to be very careful with ordering street food, so this is super amazing to learn ! (I absolutely LOVE Bolivian food) I can’t wait to take my husband & kids to show them this gem ! I love all your guys videos btw !
what a fantastic Vlog and what an inspiring concept! Viva Gustu!!
WOW! What an awesome concept for a school and restaurant... and you two have taken the vlogs to a totally different level. We loved the narration and (as always) the shots were fantastic!
I wish I had known of this restaurant when I visited La Paz two years ago. One of my favourite coffee houses in the world is right in La Paz: The Writer's Coffee. It has the retrofuturistic steampunk lamps that I wanted to buy (or steal) so badly!
Having binged through your videos the past month, it's crazy how fast the quality of each video has evolved! You guys would command a very high premium for wedding shoots these days, lol! Thanks again for making awesome videos! Every sentence is an exclamation!
I'm glad to see someone else going through the same binge-watch as me.
six years later and I feel I am 12,000 feet with you and it made me tear up the first student from gusto .. so lovely ... you all deserves so much respect. i am huge fan and love you so much for all you do ... even tho i am playing catch up ... i am devoted ... thank you for loving everyone. so refreshing. good on you and your families. and thank your mom for giving you relax vibes when you lost audio. hope it is funny now!!
You guys outdid yourselves with this vlog. Loved it. What a fabulous experience with the people at Gustu!
I know they are not food professionals and chefs or historians so you can't really call them on some of the information they convey being not accurate or just wrong but there usually are a couple every time I watch, any way it's fun to see their reactions, especially Kara's. One that I was a little surprised at was his comment on how the chefs at this school were able to somehow pickle watermelon rind to make it edible when in the south (of the US) which is actually where they are from has been pickling watermelon rind as far back as the Civil War, and has been an ingredient in restaurant dishes for over 40 years.
Look at you guys doing more voice overs! You is all grown up naw!
Edit as I watch....This is better than the Travel Channel. When you get hundreds of thousands of viewers....don't change. I love the realness and rustic feel.
Wow! I love everything this School/Restaurant stand for and are accomplishing! This is what every business should do. Get very serious about what you are wanting to offer and how and why. I think the world would be a better place with this kind of mentality.
Thank you for visiting the Wonder City La Paz Bolivia, which is among the best in the
world to see its attractions and learn about its culture, music, delicious food, and
exotic fruits, animals, and plants. The food of the city of La Paz is the most delicious, and economical compared to all of the South American nations and the rest of the world. We are pleased that you have
been able to visit us, enjoy, and confirm that the food in La Paz and the rest of Bolivian cities are affordable,
delicious, and organic. Bolivians are honest, kind, hardworking, and respectful
to visitors, and tourists and they will not encounter theft problems like in other South
American capitals. The Wonder City of La Paz is among South America's most beautiful and among the Top 7 Best in the World.
The live audio/VO mix is great! What a great culinary experience. As always, edit and music just perfect! So Jelly!
That meal looked amazing. I love how food and helping people can be combined.
I want to thank you for posting this amazing video I get to Bolivia next week... I love their philosophy thank you again post more
Kara and Nate,
Great video! I have followed you guys thru SE Asia and now South America. This is by FAR, my favorite blog (and I like all of them). The edit and content you both presented is great! Keep it up! Can't wait to see what's next Happy Traveling!
Wow such passion for their local city and people I hope that restaurant does well for a long time to come!
Wow it's incredible. It seems every new dining experience tops the last! I'm running out of lines on my bucket list for restaurants! Lol😎
Nate! I am so impressed with how you shot the footage for this video! And kudos to you too Kara for great editing!
Although, it's different from your other vlogs. Thanks to you learn more about this restaurant and the history behind it. Thank you!
Wonderful - luv learning so much through you both!! Excellent Video 💯✔
Kara and Nate your reviews are awesome, you are up to something great. Your reviews usually make emphasis on the positive and you seem to unintentionally convey nicely what many will think is devoid of significance.Your approach is very professional even when you use some self deprecation whenever you approach something that may be beyond your level of comprehension.Thank you for your good words on La Paz.
I always enjoy watching your videos. Really like the new voice over style of them. Keep it up. Go Vols!!!
One of the best shot blogs y'all have made so far! Just beautiful.
What an enjoyable and informative video this is!!!!..kudos..
Hard to believe they never had pickled watermelon rind in Tennessee. First time I was in North Carolina in the summer I knew about it.
you guys! the mix up in narrative is awesome! killing it :)
Love the vlog and very nice of you to tell the world about this proyects !!!
Gotta salute you two for visiting Bolivia and showing us how things are changing for the better in our gastronomy. I can’t wait to visit Gustu because Bolivia has now become a destination.
Love that you guys are changing it up!!!
My favourite vlog! loved the mixed voice over format. love you guys 😍
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Great showcasing of an evolving Bolivian cuisine
I like when Nate is in front of the camera too.
Sweet! Love this so much. I think I’m obsessed. 😍
Thank you Gustu. Loved every delicious bite.🙌
Incredible program changing the lives of so many!!! I'd love to eat that way every day. 🥰🥰🥰
Loving the food experience thanks
Oooo loving Kara's dangly earrings! Yay for a street food tour through a fancy restaurant! Love the street food program, how awesome is that!
I don't understand fancy food...
you two are really great, keep it going guys!
I love your videos!! FRom NZ to Nepal to Patagonia... Awesome job... Love to see Kara's positivity and smiling face in all Videos.. Aweosome job.. Got many of my frens to look at ur Vlogs too :)
I love how you guys always improve your vlogs. When you think you can't do it better, you both prove differently. I'm curious where will you go next after South America?? :) I hope Iceland because I can only imagine the amazing footage
That's one amazing restaurant!!!
Now we just need Anthony Bourdain to join in lol. Liked this format, reminds me alot of Chef's Table on Netflix, highly recommend it!
RIP Anthony
Awesome vlogs they give me something to watch! Just have fun you guys Kara and Nate do so much. Dont forget food not just snicker bars. Like water and like a power bar of some kind. I'm on vlog 316 . Just try to. Be more careful. No beating your self up. You guys are amazing.
I really liked this vlog!
WOW....what a fabulous place Gustu is. Great video
This is such an amazing thing that she is doing!
Kara, your hair looks fantastic...like you just got it done. Good job on these videos. My husband and I just discovered you guys and we are hooked. Greetings from Trinidad.

What a neat project!!
I'm a big fun of your vlog. You have inspired me to explore and live out my dream with my kids. Your vlogs are getting better every time I watch them. I look forward everyday to get my RUclips notification for new videos. keep up the good work.
It is so great to see people who follow their dream.
I love the story telling in this video.
Awesome video, 🥘 looks delicious 😋
😍😍😍😍 Sigh. Shooting there must have been a dream! Definitely my kind of vlog!
I would definitely leave starving after eating at that restaurant! 🤣😂
I enjoyed this vlog. I will never be there to enjoy this restaurant so watching along was a nice experience!
The beginning of this clog was done so professionally… loved it…
That's fabulous. I'd like to go there. thanks!
I love this initiative to help the whole local community.
Great video! I love the new format on this one... the history and personal stories really elevate the company's narrative 👏👏👏
Eric y Álvaro Van A its not a vlog
This was an ad :) not a vlog :)
I know it's an ad... Isn't basically everything online at this point? I just thought they did a good job this time with their mix of interviews/voice-overs/vlogging styles. I enjoyed watching it, dropped a pin in the place, and will definitely be going the next time I'm in Bolivia... Why not congratulate that success, right?
Oh yes, that is right. I am so happy for them :) cheers to Kara and Nate :)
Very well said. It gives substance, meaning, another perspective. I loved it! Congratz!
veryyyy goood video. saludos desde República Dominicana hagan un viaje para acá, gracias por compartir sus experiencias lo hacen super bien, excelentes tomas.
It was at this episode that Kara and Nate realized "delicious" wouldn't cut it anymore 😂
Guys , another great vid .
Continuing my journey from the beginning of your adventures , and my ears sure perked up when you said Gustu is careful about food allergies! I always wonder where would be safe beyond a handful of countries I know about, and save recipes that look fun and adaptable whenever you have a food related video as I love to experiment and find new ingredients I can use. Here’s hoping one day to go to Bolivia for Gustu as well as the adventures one can have there!
Love your videos. We're going to South America, including La Paz next week and wondering if you allowed the altitude adjustment to occur organically or of you took medication? We have meds but not sure of we need them.
I just saw this video. I love how appreciative you both are to folks! You’re the best.
This video was put together well. Great mix of styles of presenting. I'm like Nate, not really familiar with fine cuisine. But it looked like a really nice meal 😀
I a, hoping they do Egypt coz I am planing a trip there and really want to see there view on it before I go
Got to travel there to actually taste the food. Well done vlog. 👍💕
Love the intro !
Kara I can’t stop looking at your sandals I wonder how many miles did you put on them, I remember seeing a video where they felt apart
That sweet lady from the mom and pop place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Holy smokes! I think the same chef also had a three Michelin restaurant in Oslo, Norway. It was next to the train tracks when you took the train to SVG. I have eaten there. It was an orgasm for my pallet. Lol!
very interesting video
My name is Sumaiya too and it is so weird to hear you say it 😂
I sometimes read through the comments because I am often bewildered at the "thumbs down." But I do realize that, THANKFULLY, we ("we" meaning all the human individuals in the human race) are similar and yet very different and have different tastes and different priorities. I have enjoyed almost ALL of Kara and Nate's vlogs. I totally ADORE their early vlogs and I think many of us first fell in love with them in their early vlogs because they are two beautiful people (inside and physically as well) who are going after what they want and taking us along with them. BUT it is fun also to see the vlogs change and to have some differences thrown in--as long as they still stay themselves. Humans are notorious about not liking change, but yet we ALL change by what we see, hear, and especially experience, so...I hope that all who watch these vlogs just enjoy and open their minds to possibilities. For example, one commenter didn't like the quote of "food can change the world" yet that was a quote that could be very appropriate. Just like Kara and Nate enjoy food tours and learn about cultures through food, food is one thing that we all share but yet is as different as each of us. This quote can seem flippant, but yet is very profound--especially considering Maslow's hierarchy of needs.
Can you please link all your air bnb stays link in one single blog with place? I would be very convenient...
YUMMO! I'm so jealous! :)
I'm very picky but I would have tried all of that food because it looked so good 😩
Your channel is great... Supper great...
Wow--so many permaculture principles applied to a restaurant!
fun fact.. Claus Meyer is Danish.... And is known for more than Noma where he is just investor
now that you made me hungry....to the kitchen I go....for a PB&J sandwich. !!!...so disappointing after seeing this video. Loving the video's
Wow! 💕
The young chef you interviewed at the 8:10 mark, were they mother and daughter? They look identical. Hmmm.
Everest base camp , best of all
This was a weird video to watch, whenever they said "Sumaya said..." etc. it kept freaking me out, beautiful name, name-twin!
Your videoes are so well-edited and well thought out. Keep up the good work!
Like Nate says -- OMG! haha
I wish that more people would have a philosophy as not wasting as much. I feel like we can really learn from other cultures!
How did the young chef get chosen in the 80 out of 1000? I'm curious how they pick their students.
very professional and well made but just as fun to watch as ur other vlogs due to ur bright personalities. maybe its cuz i like watching documentaries :D
yummm!!!
Give me a pound of beef rare and I would be mucho happier! :) hahahaaa also the Water Melon Rind in Ecuador is boiled I think in a sugar mixture so it's sweet and yummy. :)
I am beyond jealous
