- It's been awhile since I've been behind this side of the camera.. Thanks to @DJI I finally have a dialed moto-vlogging setup which I will have a video on soon!
In this video I head out into the desert to show you some mountain views and enjoy this freshly built CRF250F which I am calling the modern XR250. After blabbering on about the bike and our travel experiences on BLM land we end up finding a cave and eventually got on some single track.
Afterwards I show you the dark side of camping on BLM and the people that aren''t exactly just camping. From dilapidated campers to abandoned dogs and just outright filth, you really have to keep an eye on things while camping here.

Honda need to bring out a 400 version my 05 xr 400 was great for power and went any where
If there was an air cooled 400 with modern suspension It would be the only 4 stroke I’d consider (I’m pretty in love with 2 strokes). But the 400 with be a super fun dual sport

Nice desert area. Certainly the Arizona desert. Whereabout is this? Out by Mammoth? We typically ride the Mile Marks area for primo ST. Nice bike by the way.

How are you liking the Parkers? Do you think they would perform well back East?
The CRF 250F here in Brazil is widely used because of its low cost. Here, there are already engine modifications that can extract 45 horsepower from these engines, making it comparable to the CRF Rs

You would have probably been better off dumping that money in your 300l for suspension and engine upgrades to get 34hp and 22.5 ft.lbs. torque and you would have had a 6 speed and tons of more power to make up for the weight gain which is probably not as much as you think when you add up all the bling. But, you did a good job!
Do you have links where to get all these parts? The bike looks amazing. I was thinking of getting the crf300l, but you have changed my mine
Do you what the bike weighs after all the mods? I replaced my battery with a lithium battery and it was 3.5 pounds lighter than stock.

Hey Tanner, I know you're a fan of the 250F but have you considered the KLX300? Seems like a better base, more torque, better suspension off the rip, fuelie.
They are great bikes but about 30lbs heavier and not as happy at low speeds, these air cooled motors love to chug.
You’ve turned this into one very good looking bike I’ll definitely say.
I would like to see you buy old inexpensive dirt bikes and fix them up and ride the s*** out of them. And then sell it cheap to me.

I bought a new CRF250F a week before Christmas. I sold it last month. Cool little bike but my Honda Rally is just more usable for me. If you're only doing trails then it's OK but my riding a huge mix of everything. Two weeks ago I was riding single track in Idaho and now I'm in Alaska using for road and trail when I'm not using the ATV. The Rally, personally, is my do everything bike.
I hope Honda hears you out with “modern XR” the CRF line just isn’t the same!
Honda needs to build an XR 400 with a wide ratio 6-speed.

Going to pull the trigger on a XR250 this year. Also from Ohio.... Going to upgrade a little at a time. What would you suggest being the first things to upgrade? Also, what helmet are you running in this video... Keep up the good work...Thanks.

I have a 88 xr250 tweaked some. Im not much slower on the XR thsn i am on my 350
