Well, now I remember when you started touring again with a full orchestra. I was trying to remember the other day and couldn't. I listen to so many of your videos. I can do every song the way you do, all the words, the movements you do, the dances, just everything and every night after I have to go to bed, I dream about one of them that I watched and that song sticks in my head all day until 7PM when I start watching you for 3 and a half hours. It gives me great joy and hope that I can make it through this difficult time that started 16 months ago and is still not settled. Good interview and you sing everything from your heart and now in this interview your favorite audiences are virgins. See, you have forgotten about us again and we are the ones even though about your age, we supported you and followed you and told all our friends since 1974 when we heard "Mandy". Great to hear interviews with Barry. He is just as good at this as he is in singing, playing piano and many more talents too many to list. I have been following Barry since 1974 when he and I were both almost the same age. We are both 76 and 80. Love to Barry!!! Betsy B

I saw him on that tour, on April 29, 2000 .... in Madison, WI .... was an awesome show ....
Barry...The PBS Channel in our area had 2 great 2 hour shows on Saturday, the first one was clips of the original performers from the 50's and 60's and then 2 hours later there was the 2nd 2 hour show of clips puts together of the Big Bands and singers of the 30's, 40's and 50's. I dvr's both and PBS always does great shows during their donation period. I haven't seen your PBS show that you are talking about in this interview. I wish we could get it. I agree with Char Watson. Your sexuality is a private thing; but so many people and media feel it is their business if the individual is a star or well known person. It's the down side of being famous. It's likely more disappointing to those when someone actually admits that they are gay such as Barry. He has this way with women when he performs and even being interviewed. He was such a handsome guy and I don't think Barry himself, even sees that. I only hope that now that he is being honest with himself.....something that he has kept private and secret for all these years, that he is at peace with himself and that he is happy.
Here it looks like he has not had any plastic surgery on his face, he looks great here!
Barry inspired me to be the gay man that I am today. Never cared much for his music.
I have been a Barry Manilow fan for about 40 years but there is one thing that bugs me about this interview. It is when he is asked what makes a love song great and he says "Truth"! He wasn't very truthful to all of his adoring fans when he pretended to be straight when he was in fact not! I have had my feeling that he was for a number of years but some fans had no idea. He was not fair to his fans for leading them on all in the name of money. Just like Ricky Martin. Shame on both of them for not telling people and being dishonest.

Joann Smith Sexuality is a private thing that people can decide to share if they want. He never said himself that he was straight so you shouldn't base people's sexuality on what they sing about! There are gay people who play roles as straight people in movies, vice versa, straight people singing about gay lovers, etc! It doesn't reflect on who the person is unless they say something!
Honestly, Barry was never known for his looks. However, he looks quite handsome here. Wish he just let himself age gracefully, instead of getting all that plastic surgery. I think he must have the same plastic surgeon as his good friend Suzanne Somers. LOL
Barry was attractive to a great deal many women.
