I get a lot of questions about where I get materials, paints and accessories for these projects. I try to find the best deals on Amazon and I share them in my Amazon store. Follow this link to check it out: www.amazon.com/shop/engineeredanglerlures
Just wanted to share something with you, I really enjoy your channel and the info you give us. I live in Fla. and now I'm 63 yrs.old my father was a avid salt and fresh water fisherman and in the early 60s started using a injection molding machine to make clear 2 part fishing lures which he would mold from live fish i.e. Pinfish and other Baitfish. the 2 sided body's were clear and he would put different insert's in i.e. silver foil and sometimes glitter and glue the body's together and then add the line tie and hook hardware. I always felt that he was way ahead of his time because i'm not even sure if Mirrolure was doing that at that time. Sadly because of having children and having to raise a family he was never able to expand on what he was doing or even market it. Remember at that time almost all lures were made of wood. He also dabbled in make plastic worms but the plastic at that time was not that soft but he still made some. I still wonder to this day what would have happened if he had the financial resources to continue and expand. It brings to mind the old saying that everything that is old is new again. Thanks for letting me share.
We came through the storm with only minor tree damage and a day fiddling with a grumpy generator but the power is back now. Thank you all for the concern and good wishes. When I started the channel I didn't realize how nice it would be to have a community around my little hobby.
Glad you came out the other side of Ian as good as you did! Now it's our turn! Where I'm located is northwest of where the eye is making landfall, and we're seeing winds, rain, and storm surge, but not as bad as our neighbors to our south! Prayers for anyone, and everyone, in Ian's path!
My sister has a place in Bonita Springs. We're not sure how her place is, but she said that none of her friends & neighbors were injured. I was concerned when I watched your video this morning as I know it was pre-recorded. I'm so thankful you and your property are safe.

Glad to hear you had minimal damage. We were in St Petersburg for a visit from Iowa, and had to cut it short. Family's first trip to Florida, hopefully not our last!
Wow! Really cool! I would not have thought to stack plexiglas like that. Figured it would have been multiple pours of clear epoxy painting them as they cured or similar to an offshore skirt where you use some holographic sticker covering a piece of metal and pour clear epoxy around that. Nice work!! May have to try this instead of shelling out $12 for every mirrolure!
I agree with you but now I kinda want to see that. Pour epoxy layers colored with alcohol inks then airbrush fine details. Glue it all together see how it comes out.
Wonderful job Franko. Glad to hear you and your family weathered the storm with minor damage. Next time try to use epoxy resin in two halves to do this project.
Stay safe my friend. Hopefully you and your family will be able to ride the storm out without to much damage. Lure looks intense. Thanks for your videos. I look forward to every Friday just to see what you come up with next.
Good video! In the early 80s our neighbor had a business making line through poppers, needles, chuggers out of plexi (pmma) he made fish tanks for sea world in san diego and would have these giant scrap pieces delivered in his driveway. he would cut blocks on my dads bandsaw and turn them on his lathe. We still have some chunks from him. Always wanted to make lures with it.. thanks man for the video. Hope you stay safe from that storm... best of luck bro.
Glad you made it through the storm. An interesting concept. I think it turned out well. I can see that as a crankbait too. Rapala makes some lures with holographic foil on the inside and I've wondered how those are constructed. I suppose it would have to be similar method as your paint on the inside of the lure here.
One heck of a storm. Glad that you and your family came through okay. The lure looks awesome. If I try that, I may hollow the inside body layers for ball bearings. Your painting skill has gone to the next level.
When you first said, "plexiglass", I was worried, but then you said, "Lexan", and I knew it wouldn't end in disaster. LOL I have to say, that is a beautiful lure. I hope it performs as good as it looks. :)
Wishing y’all in Florida the best of luck with the recovery. We went through Hurricane Ida over a year ago and we are still fighting with insurance and deadbeat contractors.
Love the concept, there is a lot of scope to play around with the layers! Inspiring as always, appreciate the effort that goes into producing even just one of these videos, thanks from Australia!
Love the experimenting Franco! Hopefully it's inspiring your viewers to try unconventional materials themselves. Keep up the good work and stay safe from those pesky hurricanes.
First of all glad you're all okay. Second. that plexiglass lure is quite amazing. May be better than wood. Wondering how it tracks and without ballast if it works well. Next vid.
Great idea and work. Glad you weathered the storm as well as you did. Was wondering what you used to temporarily hold the pieces together with and the polishing process.
@@EngineeredAngler Yes, I'm in Texas. Looks like a scamner jumped in. I'm about to do a video on this. I think most people know by now, but some still do not.
Hope you made it through the hurricane ok. That’s a good looking lure. The iridescence created by layers may pay dividends in clearer water. What did you use to polish it back to clear?
G’day from Australia, I’ve just started following your channel & am wondering what happened to Metallic lure finish part 5? I’ve just been going through to learn how to silver plate lures but just can’t find the exact vid showing the products & procedure? Also as these are older videos, do you have any current updates on the longevity of the process? Thanks Mark Hope your safe after the horrific weather you’ve had 👍😁
Glad to hear you're OK. Great vid. Interesting in seeing the action. What about modifying and building in a 'flash boost' like the new Shimano jerk baits?
I used UV cure resin and you can find it on my Amazon store, follow the link and look for the UV resin stuff tab. www.amazon.com/shop/engineeredanglerlures
Instead of trying to hide the screw eyes, how about spray painting them as part of the over-all appearance. You could even do layers to match what you have already done. Says the color blind guy who's made three lures now in four years.....

Wow thx you sir for select me on this ..
Great idea and work. Glad you weathered the storm as well as you did. Was wondering what you used to temporarily hold the pieces together with and the polishing process.
I used temporary dabble sided tape. Check my amazon store if you're curious.
Truly amazing every video!! Good luck on that hurricane, from the other side of the Gulf.
Where...Texas?

I ended up not polishing since I needed to clearcoat to protect the outer paint.

Parabéns!

have you ever made a saltwater prop lure and if not I would be interested in seeing how you can do it. Thank you for your time.

There are lots of options for this technique, adding a bit of foil might be a good one.

Admire your dedication to providing content on a regular schedule. Personally I would have said f RUclips this week.
Almost did
Hope you are ok down there!
Great lure too!
All is well thank you
Awesome project my guy!! The results are beautiful. What type of finale coat are you using to seal your lures?
The same UV resin I used to glue. I have a link in my Amazon store.
Gracias por aprender de ti
So which clear plastic did you finally end up using, and does it really matter which type you use?
Plexiglass
Love the video and the lure is phenomenal. How bad was the polishing, and how did you do it? Hand sanding or drill sander and what grit for final.
I ended up putting a clear coat on it so need to polish.
@@EngineeredAngler I got a message saying text I’m a winner I wanted to clarify this was you
